  2. the TRUE old schoolers of SAU will remember the days before we had this domain name and it was a forum under pranks little car club. Then in eventually grew into this as more SDU people came across. Dox - your up on my by 4 days here i signed up on SDU on 29-05-2001 tho.
  3. Have these plates for sale. Consider any reasonable offer made. Good for a pressie for your recently divorced friend, or just funny on a chicks car... on a guys car if your from prahan. cheers, dave [email protected]
  4. HKS EVC is the best by far! rs73, you can just leave the factory solenoid there, but u have to pull one of the vacuum hoses off and put it onto the stepping motor. also, 2nd hand boost controllers are good value, but if the stepping motor goes, then your only option is to purchase a whole new unit.. which could cost you more in the end. a HKS EVC 4 your looking at around $990, so they are no cheap, and a fair bit more than the AVC-R. Other option is the boost control kit for the pfc, but it can only be changed using a handcontroller which i think would be a pain.
  5. im so old school i have forgotten my first sau memories. have a few memories of the old Skylines Downunder days where we had only 9600kbps modems and x386 comps.

  8. Best bet is to call up wreckers or use partslocater.com.au to find wreckers with MR2's in stock. lucky it wasnt the new GTR at least!
  9. Heres the info. I am happy to send to QLD and will cover any postage over $50. Will let the whole package go for $740. cheers dave ------- exhaust specs: pipe diameter: 80mm (3") tail pipe diameter: 115mm (4 1/2") front pipe diameter: 80mm (3") pics:
  10. 60mm or 52mm.. also is it universal fit, or designed for a certain model. also price thanks. dave
  11. I have a trust MX cat back to suit R32 gtsts. Also have the mild steel front pipe that came with it. Asking $620 for cat back. thanks dave
  12. haha - if thes0pranos point of view applied to everyone we would have a funny world. My dads been in the auto industry for close on 40 years now... and I can tell you he wouldnt be able to find the battery even if i told him where it was....
  13. firstly, if you think that the car market is being flooded by turbos, then your in dream land. For the 2 new turbo vehicles you meantioned, how many are dropping the turbos.... eg, the new skyline, the 350z etc etc. and kr1sh, i think you will find the last bit of that statement you posted pretty true. "The manufacturer has gone to truly extra ordinary lengths to prevent aftermarket enhancements from altering the power output of this engine" not only have they made it damn hard to play with the ecu, but it will tell them of boost changes etc that have been made, making any warranty void. however, in the next few years when these vehicles drop out of the warranty period, im sure u will find some very mean examples on the street.
  14. When i got mine weighed to transfer rego to VIC, it came in about 1420kg with about 3/4 tank fuel and no people.
  15. well, i can tell you that the cv8 monaro at about 230kw i think gets flogged by an R33. My mates R33 had turbo back exhaust and pod filter and still easily had the race... now he has an EVC with 12psi and it wouldnt even come close. i reckon u should run on about 10psi first and see if you beat him... then up it to about 13psi and really flog him... if he still isnt crying go for a run at 15psi and really kick him

stock is only something like 200 x 160 x 50 so pretty much anything u get to go as a fmic will be bigger.
  21. hey, you should check out my zorst sometime.... definately reccomended for a soarer... sweet at cruising revs but really sounds good when its opened up.. looks fairly std too... this is the only pic i have of the tip.. will get one of cam tomorrow.. u can barely even tell its after market which is good.. means cops only can ping me on height
  22. thats something i was thinking of... but then defeats the purpose of the chipped ecu i think.. oh well.. that or power fc.
  23. West - let me know how you go.. I have a chipped ECU in my car and as dyno'd by same from BMT, it pulled 174kw ( boost controlled to .7bar by chipped ecu). Other mods are 3" cat back zorst, pod filter and bov. Seems as if it has advanced ignition, changed fuel mixtures and played with boost. My main concern is running rich.... as I do get the odd POP at cruising revs. So, really its pretty good apart from running a bit rich ... which sounds like your problem West

    got my car back!!!

I was driving around a car that was owned by the manufacturer.. wont go into detail as to what car it was or why i had it... but i crashed it on glenferrie road coming back from Room yonks ago. A guy did a U turn in front of me and wrote of both cars. He had no insurance and the police at the time deemed it to be my fault (because they lost witness statements and beleived his lies). In the mean time i just gave the car back and let them deal with the problem, but being a major comany, the didnt care, put it out the back and didnt file the insurance claim til 11month later..... the whole time with this dudes lawyers on my back.... after all that cleared the decision was finally made it was his fault so it was all good in the end. Bascially all u can do is try to screen your phone calls (HE was calling more than 10times a day at one stage) and try and get some sleep... eventually it all blows over ... in my case it took farken ages
