Autech 260rs Engine Info
Global_Warmer replied to Global_Warmer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah, I am starting to think the same thing. Whats done is done... get over it and start enjoying it! Yup. Its the powerplay one in the link above. I spoke to the fella that serviced it. The one that informed me it is not an Autech... we came to the agreement that "maybe" the reason the colours done match up is simply because its had a respray. OR there is the posibility that someone in japan rolled their silver 260 and wrote off and then they simply transfered all the engine and drive train into an rsfour etc etc. I was seriously thinkin of gettin legal help and compensation because its (posibly) not an Autech, but after talkin to you guys on here i feel much better about the car. Even though the number dont "add up". The car is in amzing condition and has more mods than I would ever personally do to a car. So its time to enjoy it. I just wish there was someway of finding out the history on this awesome car. I would love to know all about its mods. Especially if there are internal engine mods. Previous owner told me its good to run 23psi boost. I aint gunna do that to it unless i know the engine is capable of takin it. -
As per the title. I need new tie rods for the REAR steering rack and do not know what part number to tell the local auto shop. Can anyone help?

Autech 260rs Engine Info

Here is the FASTd VIN results. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/po...7248-Image1.jpg Car has NO sunroofs. It is a series 1. Adjustment for the engine strut brace it on the centre. The transmision is Manual. Vehicle has a full Autech bodykit. Vehicle was a private sale from Sydney. It cost $27,000. No cup holders in the front (but i think the Blitz boost controller and turbo timer are in it position). Line in the middle of the speedo and tacho is blank (cannot see PRND321). the is a brace in place between the gearbox and the engine underneath the car. My reason for concern all stemed from this... I took the car for a full service after purchaseing it to a company that imports Jap cars into Aus. As soon as i popped the bonnet, this fella turns around and tells me this is not a genuine Autech but infact it is an rsfour that has been well modified to look like one. Now, I was going to import a 260RS through this fella but at the last minute I decided against it and purchased this particular 260RS through a private sale. Everything you guys are tellin me so far is making me feel more confident that this is a genuine 260. So, why did this fella tell me it was a fake? Was he trying to piss me off because I did not import one from him? I dunno... But for the last 3 weeks I have not driven the car and was kickin meself cause this fella also told me I have paid $10,000 - $8000 too much for this vehicle (because it was a copy). I have been emailing Mines in Japan as I was led to believe they modified it before it got imported to Aus. They do not know the car, but have ben so helpful. The checked all the VIN and Chassis numbers on a Nissan Database and tell me it has confirmed it is a genuine Autech 260RS. To all the guys involved in this thread, thankyou for your help. Now its time to go for a spin and start to enjoy this car Here is some info on it and some pics. A very rare Genuine 1998 AUTECH 260RS over 550 HP. 5 Speed MANUAL. Features include: R33 GTR Engine. VOLK TE37 BLACK 17" Alloys. N1 R34 GTR Turbos. HKS Dump Pipes. Greddy Piping Kit. NEW Exedy Triple Plate Clutch. N1 Apexi fully adjustable suspension (coil over i belive...). Mines airflow meters. HKS Spark Plugs. Braided brake lines. Front dampers. Rimax Clear cam cover. Oversized injecters & fuel rail. Adjustable cam gears. HKS Front mount intercooler. HKS 24 Row oil Coiler. Aftermarket exhaust (not sure what diametre as yet). Engine Dampener. Front and rear torsion bars. Brake Booster. Relocated Oil Filter. Full Roll Cage. Blitz Turbo Timer. Blitz Boost controller. GReddy gauges, oil pressure, fuel pressure, Oil temp, exhaust temp + more. This is one awesome car, which can run up to 1.6 Bar. Endless Brake Pads all round. Recaro Front seats. There maybe more. As I dont think that even the owner exactley everything that has been done to this car. -

I thought this was the case. It has after market wheels on it. Definitely has brembo's. Also got the fluid in the right rear of the boot. Guys thankyou for your help. Especially Yudy. I have had the car for 3weeks and as soon as I saw the plate with RB25DET on it, I thought I had been ripped off. I was too embarrassed to ask the forum for help. Even booked myself into a solicitor this week. I did use the "vins fasted" thread. All I could get out of it was it was supposed to have a bloody RB25 in it. Thanks once again. -
Can anyone tell me if it is Autech or Nissan that puts the RB26DETT into the 260RS? I have been told that my car is in fact not a 260RS, but a rs four with an engine conversion and Autech body kit. The plate in the engineering bay says the vehicle should have a RB25DET in the engine bay. Have I been sold a dud?

Threw a mate in the passenger seat and gave it a floggin on a back road in the country. Geezus this car has long legs -
This is exactely why i make sure the first thing that I do after purchasing a new car, be it private or a car yard, is change the rego plates. Who knows what the last owner was like... could of been a dealer with a bounty on his head!!!

I am new here and did not trawl through all the pages of the thread. I have a suggestion that Skylines Aus Forum joins up with Tapatalk. I use it on my HTC android phone and I am sure my mates use if on their iPhones too. It makes viewing the forums a breeze and loads up relly fast on 3G too. I thouroghly reccomend it!

Maybe his missus found it!!!

Blitz Adjustable Boost Controller
Global_Warmer replied to Global_Warmer's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I don't know how to put a link up here cause I am replying via my phone. But, if you look up a thread "I just bought a 260RS Autech" you will find out all the info on the car that you need to know. Yeah. Car has been well modified! -
I can not figure out how to turn up the boost in my 260RS. Its got a Blitz DUAL SBC boost controller. Does anyone know how to operate this thing? The previous owner didnt seem to know much about it and I was told this car is capable of going to 23psi of boost, but all that i can get the boost gauge to go to is 7psi. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Had the 260RS profesionally detailed today. Got the lot done for $300 which I recon is bloody cheap! Then brought it home and polished the GReddy intake pipes. Man I love this car even more now!! -
Thanks for your replies guys. They are some sweet lookin tyres that you told me to look at. Now there are TOO many desicions... I tried trawling through the Sticky tyre thread last night, but wasnt really keen to have to sit through 49pages of information that was not directly related to what i am trying to find out. My only problem is (as i mentioned before) that I currently run 265's and they sit perfectly on the rim. I fear that 275's will bo too fat and hit the guard and 255's will lok sil because they are to thin. All those tyres that you have showed me are either 275's or 255's. Does anyone know of any other track/road tyres?
