  1. haha busy indeed! tell us if you notice a difference with HDi FMIC .. i actually noticed more lag in the short end because of the stock turbo. but pickup in the middle range top end when it was cold at night (bearing in mind qld winter is 25C) hopefully that will change with the hiflow. got some tuning nuts today and replaced the stocky nuts with all 20 of the tuning nuts. Should be a good deterrent for anyone attempting to steal the rims as theyll need to get all 20 off without rounding the nut and that wont be easy. and ordered the centrecaps from rays.. $200.. (rip job) Can park out front without being overly paranoid now!
  2. looks like we're screwed for that in qld , unless you're prepared to custom order by the drum. No pumps here (that ive found and ive done some research) and doesnt look like there will be for a good while yet!
  3. on a completely random note i wondered when i drove to sydney in the stagea why i saw no kangaroo's in the country then two months later..i came across this weird plastic object that fell from the bumper when doing the fmic install, which later my mate explained was a roo shoo , makes a whistle and they supposedly bail. Well it seems to work cause i didnt see one (that was alive)..and i went the inland route!
  4. aha poverty pack ftw!
  5. I dunno man im thinking im pushing 15-20-litres per 100 around the city depending on lead foot with my m35 series 1 - vq25det and well above 12 for normal driving and country. can go anywhere from 270ish-450ish depending on how one drives. (but even in the country i never got better than 475!) we have a curb weight of 1780kg's without fuel or driver also .. not sure what a maxima is ? but only mods is dump/fmic -which has improved efficency marginally.
  6. dare say your best speaking to scott about this as he's done the most research into this affair. i know however the blocks are identical and you can use turbo components from a vq25det to make a vq35det from a vq25det and vq35de you would think if the block was the same the bolt pattern for the gearbox would be identical also... but dont quote me on that.
  7. i personally wouldnt put anything but 98 fuel in my cars. whats 20 cents per litre against the life of your engine. and octane ontop of that on occasion.. bearing in mind jap fuels are octane 102+ (RON) which these cars were designed for. also who else likes BP98? in my opinion its the worst of the 98 fuels. my personal favourite is caltex -vortex 98. and then secondly shell v-power and bp probably lastly. but like oils i guess people get different results for different motors. so each unto their own i guess. can't wait to go E85 and forget about it. cmon brisbane.. start selling e85 at the pump ffs!
  8. hehe glad i dont have it..just another thing to break!
  9. damn.. well theyre $490 retail directly from Greddy
  10. wow thats cool you said the initial group buy was closed.. can we get another 3 going? im in for one.
  11. how about some m35 17's ( 235 x 45 x 8.5) with slight curb rash! with some japanese autogaurd tyres ... $100 plus postage
  12. toyo wanted 186$ for the zorst gasket and 92$ a bolt. dump and turbo manifold gaskets were around 100$ also ....that happens when theres only 110 of them. i got 4 matching studs and nuts to replace the turbo/dump ones that were crusty and got them from mtq for nothing (they did the hiflow for $1400 ) toyo also wanted 5k to replace the stock ihi rb6 turbo when i asked them out of curiousity.. which was stupid tiny. oh they also wanted $1687 for a replacement turbo zorst manifold because one of the headers on mine spat a hole. welded it for $80. absolute jokers. ill be diying the stagea turbo also.. stuffed im paying someone else.. who will do a half assed job anyway.. so what if it takes a few days longer.. least then you can make sure its done properly every step of the way! c34 will be a sinch also compared to nm35's the "engine out" vg30 legacy lives on in vq!
  13. did a gt25 highflow on a 1.8l rolla sportivo recently.. and it wasnt a hard job. but fwd so the turbo was easily accessible. stock ecu handled it also.. didnt go too nuts in the highflow no boost cut , or detonation. t pieced to 18psi. reused all gaskets works fine. 43mm inducer to 48mm on the intake side.. cant remember what the zorst side was but it goes fantastic for a shitbox.
  14. bump for +1 add me to the list for a group buy!
  15. considering getting the plates V0LV01 ;lol
  16. even finding a spot for the gps other than window mounting it is a bit of a non event in a RX
  17. thats rocking andy! Be interested to see how it goes. heh knew that was coming... no wonder they wont wave at us!.. lol
  18. for me it was such a discernable difference that when i drove away from the exhaust shop.. i could feel it on the first hill exiting the driveway.. gets on boost alot earlier and the torque was heaps better off boost also. what amazed me was the fuel difference.. someone said its not going to get 6l per 100.. well its pretty damn close.. its going to get 8-9 with the dump and cooler mod ive found...(against 12+ without) again depending on how you drive at the time. but i noticed a huge improvement on fuel economy. (almost a quarter of a tank difference over a week just crusing up the hwy).
  19. lets say we have the harness though.. does that equate to the fcon v being an easier tune for the vq25det? or is it more knowledge and testing of the mappings that the tuner would have to know individually regardless? Im not confident enough atm to invest in one unless someone says it can be done with x tuner for x amount. Unless you want to be the test dummy Gregg!? i have however seen the harness advertised in many a yahoo auction for a reasonable price.
  20. what a wanker.. dont you hate people like that.. rather than flying over.. could you not call the local cops here and press a theft charge? anyone know any info on this ? however its not far from me either.. could always roust up a few to go visit with the sheer intention of returning said hardware. i know a few in the neighbouring burbs. maybe get someone do a driveby on the low down and see if this skyline is still around at this address?
  21. who can tune the fcon v though .. without being a test dummy and spending 2k on a tune anyway for the vq? cause thats definately within budget.
  22. interested in the emanage but whats with the photo of it looks like its in a torn up cardboard box then jammed into a seat???
