Oil catch can is installed by the time the car is on the dyno. So i guess there is no oil taken from the intake pipe. Operator didn't mention much. Spark Plugs fitted less than 3K and spitfire coil packs fitted as well.

Thank you all very much guys. Thank you for spending your time and effort and knowledge on this topic. Thanks a lot. The car is driving OK on the street, knocking less than 30. Not much smoke from the exhaust. I think it only did it on the dyno. Castrol Edge 10-60w was used, however this time I just want to try different product so I used motul 8100 10-40w. the day before the dyno I thought the oil might be a little bit low so I added about 1/2 litre of Mobile 1 0-40w as I don't have other oil around. I think the oil is a bit too thin. But I don't know whether the thin oil did such damage.

My car did this on the first run... Then off the dyno. White smoke coming out. Knocking reached 100. Oil motul 10-40W. Stock engine 18 psi. Still drives fine on the street even @ 8000RPM knocking is under 25. What's wrong with it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_IbCyveaa0

Hi All, It's an R34 99 non-Vspec GTR. The car had: * Gearbox reconditioned. * Rear diff reconditioned. Ratio unchanged. * Nismo Dash * 265/35/18 RE001 Tires Funny enough there is a 20%-25% discrepancy between on-car GPS speed and the Nismo Dash speedo. Yes, the speedo reads 20~25% higher than the actual speed. Four wheel sensor light is off. Also, Power FC reads only up to 173 kmz. What is causing all these? Thanks.

Did another hill run last night. Temp is definitely lower after oil change. Syncho is much more smooth. Thin oil helps. Yes the Transmax Z is green. The old oil is regular yellowish color. With 286awkw it's a mild gtr. Thank you very much Adam.

Thank you Richard. Will look into it.

Thanks very much Adam. Changed the gear box oil with Castrol Transmax Z however it's green instead of red. Gear change feels so much more smooth now and I doubt workshop which rebuilt my gearbox has put regular 75-90w gearing oil in it before. Because Transmax Z is a really light oil, is it sufficient to protect the gearbox? The mechanic mentioned that the front bearing is a bit worn out and making noises. Is it a serious issue? Currently running Excedy twin plate clutch.

Hi there, My 34 Getrag is really hot when running for long period of time. After a cruise last Sat night on the hills the knob get so hot that I need to keep fingers away from the metal part otherwise it will get burnt. Outside temp is sub 15C. Later on a friend drove my car and first thing he noticed is the hot gearbox. I had a 34Gtt and the never noticed any heating issues with the 5-speed-manual. Is it normal for a getrag to be so overheated compared to other gearboxes? What's the ideal street/track temperature for a getrag? Thanks. Andrew

Rear Diff Oil Leaking
Andrew.Y replied to Andrew.Y's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeah it's red. also at the engine bay there are same power steering oil leak as well. are these normal? -
Hi guys, When I was changing the wheels today I found a quite noticeable amount of oil leak from the rear diff unit. It was not there before. 3 days ago I did a trackday in Winton and ran about 30 laps. Haven't done much to the car since. My mechanic told me it needs a new gasket. After I drove the car home I heard the ATTESA hydraulic pump working at a much shortened internals. I start to think whether it's a rear diff leak or a ATTESA hydraulic fluid leak. I took a few photos of the leaking area and seems the it's leaking from the top. What is the problem and where can I go and fix it? Much appreciated.

My Injectors Are Maxing Out @ 100%
Andrew.Y replied to Andrew.Y's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
thank you very much guys. I have bought 700cc ones before the tune and will get them on for a retune. -
Hi everybody who has more brain than I do: on my 34 gtr the injectors are running at a peak duty of >95%, I have even saw a 100% peak reading today followed by some burned rubber smell. Here is a couple of questions I want to ask and your feedback is greatly appreciated: 1, what is the risk of running injectors at full capacity? what problems do I most likely enter into? Will the ecu adjust air intake to compensate for the lack of fuel? 2, Do the 34gtr stock injectors have better flow patten than sard 700cc ones? 3. If i do track day, is it safe to run on the street tuned high boost, with 100 octane? if not so why and what might happen? 4. the car is pulling 288.7rwkw on a pair of -7s. If upgrade to 700cc + bosch 044 + tune where everything else untouched, will I be able to gain a significant power increase? If so how much? apologize for my lack of essential knowledge. I guess my learning curve just started. once again really appreciate your commends.

Sadly the 34 is still sitting at Racepace tonight. might come with another car.

What Clutch Is It?
Andrew.Y replied to Andrew.Y's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thank you!Had the car launched twice and the clutch holds well. Seems I need to get use to the gearbox. -
Hi all, While I have done a gearbox rebuilt I took a photo of the Exedy clutch. I'm not sure what clutch is it and whether it will hold 500hp. Also sometimes there is a chunking noise while changing gears at low revs. Is it because of the clutch wear out or I'm just not use to drive the car yet? Any commend welcome! Happy new year!! Andrew
