there is an r34 gtt in QLD with a R33 Rb25det stroked to 2.7 full built with a T88 33d making 490rwhp.. it uses a 300zx 4 speed auto with a manualised reverse pattern valve body and like a 4400rpm stall convertor (i think dont quote)... seems to be doing ok... also got nismo 2way & gtr cvs...... maybe check the 300zx auto out.... i really like that car too except for the auto.. being a fan of manual and all .... if you are going to do it i reckon check all the nissan stuff until its gets too pricey then go c4 or t350 in my opinion..... but all that other Sh*t i mentions would still apply...
-
few things Autos drain more power (which i asume is the most important thing) than manuals as there is fluid coupling until convertor lock up... compared to an engaged machanical clutch giving direct drive.. trimatics are sh*t, even most built ones if you do put a built & manualised auto in with a higher stall (which u might want if your putting a gt3540 on a rb25) you would want a proper trans cooler... & diff gears if ur real serious... if its manualised u still have to select the gear anyway... why not just put an r33 auto in it? saw one sell on ebay for like $400... what bout speedo do u care if its out.. or works at all? perfect thread below for u http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/349853-vl-auto-or-t400-gear-box-for-r33/page__p__5644301__hl__r33+speedo__fromsearch__1#entry5644301

also thought id post up a pic of my toolbox working on my mrs car... i think at that time it was installing her sound system... either that or it was sixing a wiring issue which kept causing the intrument lights fuse to blow... thing is a 1985 corona rt142... Sooooo much fun to work on & drive, very slow but just a comfly cruiser... trying to convince my mrs to get some coils & then some stance going... although this is not going too well lol... will be painting it black soon i might post some pics & stuff i kno its not a skyline or even a nissan but its still fun

had some more eventfull jobs in the last few days lol it must be engine failure season as i have heard lots of other workshops are getting blown engines in a fair bit aswell as us this boys and girls is when happens when a 4l 4cyl diesel which is limited to 2800rpm runs off oil & revs to about 6000rpm.... BANG the two missing vavles were stuck in the piston, managed to get one out but other one is sorta disintigrated haha this is the cyl that destroyed the above valves if u look closely u can see the one valve head i managed to get out.. in these two pics u can see where the valves have made contact with the piston but not quite enough to smash them although they are very bent.. almost looks like they are ment to be there but trust me they are not haha next 2 are another engine 9 (one a 5 litre 4 cyl diesel) that come in on a hook, customer says the oil light came on and then the motor locked up... when we drained the sump we got bout 200ml of oil out of it, still a mystery where it went..... thing that amazed me the most bout this enigne is that there is absolutely no sign of any oil in the cylinder/on the piston, the metal is super clean but just all broken up obviously from the force of the crank trying to push it up the bore as it grabbed the liner this one one is just a pic of that spray pattern i spoke about in another post.. pretty interesting to see the spray pattern of the injector & how the cobustion takes place in this stye of enging (one again heron type piston) i dont kno why it is so dry obviously from no oil but there is not much signs of new fuel either so i think it maybe had a leaning out problem as well which could have helped cause its destruction... last one is just a Bloody AWESOME effort for stance made bout one of our good ol' portable oil pumps... is pretty mexican but has MAD camber haha, just needs some flares and "Moar" low with some tuck Hope you enjoy my friends...

if u mean a sandwich plate for say a pressure or temp gauge or for oil cooler then the oring between the plate and the filter houseing could be stuffed, remove & check and match up some orings for it if the origional is no good & see how it goes

had a quick look & did not find what i needed i drained coolant today to do some stuff & my radiator bung went missing.. dose anyone kno where to get one or kno the thread size so i can at least put a bolt in cheers
-
you are correct Like Beemae30 said it helps swirl & controls the burn better. if u look clseley i kno the pix are crap quality but u can see the pattern ontop of the piston of how it fires from inside, out.... similar to a petrol with hemispherical head but obviously with no spark plug.

mine does it too at idle, is normal. atm mine has a dump pipe like 6 inches long and is running Super rich so it sounds worse, gaps are .8. is perfect when you apply any throttle though all the way to 7000rpm -

thanks dude its getting there did a little more stuff today but no pics atm fitted some phillips crystal vision low & high beam globes with led parkers look much better than origional globes. run my final lot of vacume hoses, for waastegate, FPR, boost gauge fitted my coolant temmp sensor adaptor. ran my p/s hoses & insulated from heat/rubbing and fitted a belt. got a really cheap little pod dilter to fit the engine bay while the afm is still needed will hopefully get my P/s bottle back with some fittings welded on soon man i got to buy a tig.... only problem is that my radiator bung has gone missing lol anyone kno where to get one i checked ebay & most of the usual sites and went to repco & autobarn with no luck -
head is flatt and the top of the piston has combustion chamber in it

holes in block are also a good way to check oil level haha
-
that shit is awesome i want to be there when it happens (protected from rouge bits of gearbox though) man proabably would have been like 11000rpm thats one tough little engine they build though drove it off a cliff!?! and then was escorted to the movies, all a happy ending cept for the poor civic stuck in the tree i guess.. . but it is his truck, owner driver.. haha shell be right just put diff oil init to balance the viscocity up... i have heard of an apprentice @ another workshop near us who filled a diff with grease mind u the diffs in the crap we work on are like the size of an engine & take 22l of oil....

ill try to bring this back from the dead. no money and no parts make sh1tty posts but i have actually done something over the last few months anyway ill get back into it, i have decided to get a vipec first of all, ordering soon but heres what has happened Got Turbo Gt3082r .63 rear housing Got 6boost manifold & heat wrapped fitted manifold and turbo took off manifold are redid crappy heat wrap....... bought heaps and heaps off fittings, collant hose, braded hoses -3 & -10, power steering hose and efi hose god damn they cost a lot. went broke again from all the fitting purchases bought a surge tank and 044 for the boot, stripped boot and fitted out, (yet to be wired) used up 4m of efi hose & tried to make it as tidy as possible i think it came out pretty good. got those sexy ce28s wrapped in rubber, Toyo T1 proxis on front (225s on 8,5 inch wide) and 2nd hand continental tyres on rear (265s off mercedes demo cars got sick price with like 90% tread, onto 9.5 inch rears) fitted my new Boost, oil pressure, coolant temp & oil temp gauges (clearly they dont match but i like that for some reason) somehow convince my Mrs (who wen i bought the car told me she hated it and said it was the worst car ever) that skylines are ok (getting there shell come around). Finished off clutch & put bos back in Etc, ended up going with a backyard flywheel machine with buff gun & an exedy Triple HDB clutch thanks to Northern Brake & clutch. Ended up going the Caliper spacers with standard calipers and gtr rotors although i dont have any rotors yet. Those spacer are pretty damn good quality. pretty sure i wont be able to fit standard 16 inch wheels back on front though, if someone who has done this mod could let me kno that would be good.. "Vertical Hood" mod cos i was sick of not being able to see the back of the eninge (go to google images & search "vertical hood", go, you kno u want to..... R 18+ warning) Charged my battery, changed oil & filter, put sandwich plate for oil sensors, put coolant in ( no radiator just yet ) fitted waste gate.... got cooler pipes made which was a mission for some reason..... anyway, mocked up an intake that will be ok for now... fitted cooler piping & intake & afm, made up a dump pipe bout 12 inches long to put o2 sensor in, and here is where im at may not seem like much to some but bills come before toys & money is tight... car runs pretty good once i got some new fuel in it, cleaned out idle control valve & adjusted clutch.. no leaks all gauges work waited for the smoke from the heat wrapped i handled to much to go away & everything seems good.. have got a different p/s bottle now just need to weld some fittings on & hook up some lines, made up a bracket to fit & should be all good, got some jecs750s (i know they are probably high flow haters go ahead and hate) will see how they go once the vipec arrives. can also get rid of afm then -
