  1. yeh i have heard of that too.. i have always wondered what it would be like to be in a vehicle when that happens, lol obviously not mine but just the noise and vibration would be crazy when it lets go
  2. cheers it will be driven to and from the track and very rarely for fun on the road anyway so that seals it for me & i dont mind rough
  3. we will service it when u bring it in but dont blame us when you leave it 25000kms overdue which doesnt help their cause, but i a pretty sure it has like 400000 on it so its outa warranty on ks anyway quoted motor is bout $35000 complete ( No 5HIT i swear i couldnt believe it myself ) and cosidering i has 2 holes in block, compressor, fuel, pump, starter all destroyed, turbo has had metal go through it and flywheel housing smashed they dont have much choice. dont get it either dude....
  4. haha true, dont understand ppl that dont take care of their vehicles,... especially trucks cos in lots of cases its their livelyhood on the line when it blows up. but its still good value for us to see when it happens n laugh bout it
  5. we had a aurion as a loan car at work, +1 they are pretty fun drives, specially wen u dont give a gosh darn bout em
  6. oh no double post FAIL on me lol
  7. this today, one of the guys had a slippery engine i love my work so much action ...
  8. lol yeh, wants warranty but i think its out on ks, plus the whole forgetting to service it, haha d1cks on him.
  9. i would also like to kno more im trying to decide on a setup too
  10. you cant really tell when all the air is bled out, as ud probably kno u have to lock em up so they hold pressure it just makes it easier being able to pump the pedal without having to lock and unliock the bleed nipple. but u still have to check the pedal feel every now so often
  11. +1 on sway bars couldnt believe thee difference and good front tyres
  12. well not them exactly but same principal, only thing to worry bout it making sure u dont drain ur master cyl cos it doesnt take much pumping
  13. we have em at my work, they go good
  14. haha yeh man they also act as speed holes to help the engine spin faster lol.
  15. probably wrong section but it has to do with maintence. got a truck into work a few weeks ago apparently for an oil leak according to customer it was dripping on passenger side. so one of the apprentices went to drive it into the workshop and found it wouldnt start had a quick look and everything seemed normal... except for this... i took the sump off and found this. i thought, hang on thats not right. pulled the motor and stripped it and thats what we were left with. passengers side of block driver side hooked diagnostic computer up and found it had overheated 17 times within the last day and had lost oil pressure 5 times in the same amount of time clearly it then grabbed a piston and snapped rod and so on, this happened cos it hadnt been serviced for 40,000km and our policy is 15,000km service intervals. i guess the point of my thread is.. so service your ride on time !!!!!!!
  16. ah the purpose of a catch can is to "catch" and then hold oil, moisture and whatever is pushed out of the rocker covers in crankcase ventilation it has to either vent to atmosphere or to the intake constantly so you dont get a rise in crankcase pressure and blow your turbo or cam cover seals, or any other seals for that matter... a one way valve in the hose to the intake pipe pressurise the crank case as you are sealing the motor once the valve is sucked closed by the vacume in the intake pipe.. is not pvc...pcv is under pressure not vacume so it needs to have one way valve or motor will pressurise even more...
  17. the manual is very good... detailed im sure if time permits there is heaps of ppl that could to it with good pis and all there would be a couple of "special" home made tools me thinks
  18. half inch rachet for filler... think its 17 or 19mm socket for drain plug (dont quote me though) and a lil oil pump or a hose with funnel... you can also fill it through the shifter hole if you can be bothered taking the shifter out... make sure plugs are tight but not too tights as its alloy case.. let us know how it goes
  19. yeh i reckon i will go with the hhhdbc i just wanted to see some other results or opinions of the single plate nismo and hyper metallic stuff.. seems as though nobody uses them though lol.. your right about the price its great for a clutch kit that can hold that much power.. triple hbd it is then,, cheers man
  20. all you need to manage to do it is a press, snap ring pliers, circlip pliers some gear pullers and a decent tool kit with all the standard crap, oh and an oxy wouldnt hurt... if someone posted a diy thread up that was spot on but had all these tools that ppl ask what the hell is that for do you think they would go and buy them just to do a gearbox... good pullers are a couple hundred with long arms, knipex snap ring pliers are like $120.. then a press and oxy... it all adds up..., maybe you have the tooling to do this... maybe you dont but a lot of people probably wont and posting a diy thread on how to do this could end up with heaps of half stripped gearboxes on ebay cos "something broke" when the wrong tool was used. it was said before gearboxes shouldnt be taken to with a shifter, a hammer and a screw driver.. but if you got tools get the manual and give it a shot my 2 cents... i have the manual pm if you want it...
