  1. Are you sure they supplied you M35 ones? When I got mine, I requested softer springs & was told they would not supply anything more than 2kg/mm different from standard - I suppose so the shocks & springs were still 'matched'. I'm having trouble remembering what the standard rates are (12 & 10?), but if so mine are 10 & 8. 8 & 6 sounds too soft, unless they did some changes to the shocks. BTW, other manufacturers supply 5 - 6 kg/mm springs, so could be OK, even very nice, if shocks valved to suit. Interested to hear what you think when they're in.
  2. Hi all those who have expressed interest in a cruise control recently. Stag123 (above) wanting 2 has put the number into the realm of possibility. I'll message everyone in due course to confirm details & will post updates as they come to hand. I've started the process by emailing my supplier tonight. Cheers Leon.
  3. The Tuners Group is selling Porsche calipers for ~$611 each. Apparently they will fit DBA's 350mm 5000 series discs. Still an expensive package, but getting comparable in price to some of the BBK's out there. Performance would have to be OK I'd imagine. http://www.tunersgroup.com/porsche_brakes.html
  4. Have you looked at your side mirrors when you put the car into reverse? They face down to give you a better view of your cat as you back over it.
  5. There is a restrictor of some sort in one of those hoses (going to the wastegate?). Did you leave that in or remove it?
  6. When I had my stock turbo it would hold at least 13psi to redline. No doubt it does run out of flow, but 9psi sounds too low. How is boost control being done Ryan?
  7. You forgot to mention the Nismo oil cap Ryan. That's worth a 1/10 on any circuit, lol.
  8. Yes, exactly right. With the plenum hose going to atmosphere you will have an issue with air metering (stalling), as you have experienced. Plug it up though, & the car should function OK. There may be a little oily gas vapour coming out of the open PVC, but that will be OK for a brief test.
  9. Sounds a lot like mine was (is) Paul. Mine always smoked on throttle lift after a boost event, so max vacuum. Try temporarily disconnecting the PVC hose to the plenum (plug up the hose going to the plenum) & go for a drive & then let us know results.
  10. Don't want to hijack the thread, but it amazes me that there are people with M35's that aren't on this (or the other) forum. Even if they don't post, there's so much relevant info... Maybe after the cruise they will be inspired Hope everyone has a good day.
  11. How many cars does Footo have?
  12. Lol, a lot of TB issues are fixed by cleaning it. Was wondering if you tried cleaning first, before replace it. I hope it has fixed your problem though.
  13. I love those kinds of mods - big win for little outlay. Not necessary for me but I like it anyway
  14. I suppose you did all the cleaning etc first? And I also assume the new one fixed your problem? Reads as though it was an intermittent fault. Have you had it in long enough to make the 'all fixed' call?
  15. Yep, 5L when filter changed.
  16. Silver ARX across from the beach at Lennox. Was Leigh up from Port Macquarie. Drove great for full exhaust & fmic. I strongly suspect a hi-flow of similar spec to Dale's was installed previously.
  17. Don't you have a spare TPS in your wreck or have you tried that with same result? (Edit: D'oh, good thinking Ryan, lol) I'd be hesitant to spend that much with no guarantee too...
  18. Since you don't appear to need it anymore, can I buy the cruise control back off you Scotty? Either that or I can put you in touch with some willing buyers, lol.
  19. Lol. I intend to have my current hi-flow rebuilt to new condition & then sell it with a swap with a standard turbo (blown up or not). Maybe the start of a turbo swap service??? In any case, my current one doesn't suit my driving preference so am looking forward to trying something different once the one on the new engine gives up the ghost.
  20. No, haven't pulled anything apart but I did use an inspection scope & it looked OK. I think I just blew a ringland. I won't be tossing this out as I hope to rebuild it for a working spare. In the meantime it will be a good source for sensor swapping, if (when?) I find myself needing to diagnose something. Looked at importing thru JS but decided a local engine is less risky & cheaper. I've bought Darrin's now that he's not doing the swap into the C34. Will be more of a wait since he's in China buying stock for his spare parts business, but I'm not in too much of a hurry as mine is still driveable albeit smoky. See above. Essentially I was adjusting the AFM voltage to stop it droping off the edge of the map (had major AFM cutout) & thought I'd compensate by changing the fuel pump to full voltage. I think my pump didn't like it very much & was intermittently noisy, & I suspect it wasn't doing it's job properly. Leaned out on a cylinder & the rest is history.... I returned the pump to normal wiring & is quiet again. The silver lining is I can test stuff to my hearts content now that engine is already busted, lol.
  21. Replacing it. Much easier/cheaper, at least for me, but still patiently waiting for the engine. May play around with the old engine in the future - learn me some new skills.
  22. Re the compression test, when I did mine all had 140psi (different gauges may get different results) except one which had 100psi. Was pretty obvious if was busted. Your results show similar pressures across all cylinders, so you could be OK in that regard.
  23. Really? I found absolutely no difference on mine. However, I always reset the the CEL quite quickly. No idea what happens if left for 100's of km.
