  1. I answered 'no' anyway, but the online questionaire/s ask how many points have been lost, & also link to myrta to check. Not that it makes much difference to what I'm doing, but I think the site (RTA) is wrong.
  2. I checked myrta for how many points are left on my license (looking at insurance options), & see I have 3/13 with date of last offence shown as Jan 2010. That's over 3 years ago. Am I right in thinking that should be cleared by now or have they extended the limits? I guess it could be a simple case of database not updated...
  3. Heaps of guys on G35driver changed their old switches out for the new style with backlit buttons. No one reported that the stereo or cruise stopped working, so if there is a difference it doesn't appear to be enough to cause any issues with factory functions. Any limitations must be in your kit Chris.
  4. Here's the reverse lights circuit for the G35. Ours should be similar (or not). Hopefully it helps. I couldn't find the equivalent info in the jap version for our cars. LT_reverse_lights.pdf
  5. Not a bad idea, but get these ones Chris - part number 25550-AC700 They are the newer model to the ones you are/were supplying & have the option of backlighting on the buttons. They look heaps better IMO.
  6. Yeah, given Iains' track record, we could be waiting a while, lol. OK, I will translate it too. I have a friend who's a Japanese language teacher, drives an import & generally loves & all things JDM. He'll set it up as a project for his high school classes & have it done next term. I just need a small deposit from 100 people in the next 6 weeks.... Bahahahahahahaha
  7. I thought the M35 Jap version were on itsnotavolvo.com.au at one time....? Dunno where I got mine from, but then I thought everyone had a copy. Maybe they should be loaded there (again)? They are much smaller than the Infiniti ones (~60Mb less). BTW, about half way thru I got sick of reloading all those V35 service manuals. May leave the rest for you to do (one day )
  8. Must be just you Scotty . Ryan had a similar problem not too long ago but disconnected the cruise & it still occurred.
  9. I see no one actually answered my original question (had to figure it out myself by experimentation), so why would anyone bother clarifying a throw away statement like that...
  10. Does your deck support external switches? If so, there should be instructions for the setup procedure. You will need to connect the 2 wires from the steering wheel (may already be at back of stereo) to the wires on your deck & then teach it what resistance = what control.
  11. Good onya Max. Post it up on m35stagea.info as well. That's where all the good info resides.
  12. There's been plenty of talk on this very subject recently. Nissan designed these cars to have optomistic speedos. With 'correct' sized wheels & tyres, the speedo will be out ~10km/h @ 100km/h (will read 110 when doing 100). If yours is out 3-4km/h then you have a larger diameter wheel/tyre combo. It's worth noting (as previously discussed) that the ECU knows how fast you are going (with correctly sized wheels & tyres) but chooses to display the incorrect speed. This can be confirmed by an OBDII reader whilst driving.
  13. Hi Gav, the cruise units are bought from the manufacturer but via a buyer in another country where the market isn't stitched up. If the factory gets wind of them coming down under, then I don't get any product & I lose my money . They place loyalty to their dealer network very highly. That's all fine, except to have the Aust distributor sell/install one costs up to $1000 (depending where you are). And that doesn't include the steering wheel controls, which really make this kit IMO.
  14. The Hunt for Red October? They certainly are elusive, at least real info about them.
  15. If they are the same as I supplied with my cruise controls, they cost me $77e from Nissan. Trade price is supposedly $82 according to my local parts guy, & I've heard reports of people being quoted closer to $100. Btw, they come as a pair with the audio switches.
  16. Mmm, so that's 5 people interested. I can only buy them in lots of 20 so really need a few more or else I'll be left holding the baby, so to speak. If the count gets to >10 confirmed people I'll seriously look into it. Also reckon a good idea would be to have a discount for those that pay before I need to transfer the money. That might entice the fence sitters' to convert.
  17. The only good thing about -20 is max ignition advance. (And I suppose you can put your beers in the snow )
  18. Cold in Mackay in January?
  19. What does the seller mean when he says "For your peace of mind this part comes with a 12 month manufacturers warranty at least." ...at least? I reckon he's bought heaps of these at a clearance sale & will swap any faulty ones for as long as he still has stock.
  20. I don't think Craigs' recent thoughts are common knowledge, ie he wouldn't know if irrelevant or not. And, as it turns out, is very relevant.
