  1. Sorry guys, I don't read here very often. I had lost a cruise control box in the garage somewhere & only found it during a post Christmas clean up - but it has been promised to another guy. I guess I could be willing to do another run of 20 units, but it's a lot of $ to have sitting around. Anyone wanting to go halves?
  2. So much fail in the description. "JDM 01-05 NISSAN STAGEA V35 M35 PM35 250RS VQ25" I'd say the seller has no idea what they were selling. If it didn't have written on it VQ25(T) NM35, I'd say it would be too big a risk. Even so, it would still be a small risk to buy, even though it looks like it'll be right. As for performance upgrade, it's a bit of a lucky dip. It wouldn't be tuned for all the stuff most of us are running.
  3. Did a proper check on mine & just on the wastegate spring it hits 24psi at the top of the rev range (holds 15-16psi till then). I'm running your dump pipe Scotty, so in my case I think it's the wastegate itself that is too small. I think when I had your spring on the factory turbo I had no problem holding 16psi, so you may be onto something re the different dump pipe.
  4. Hi Ryan. Can you attach the instructions or post a link to them? I'm too lazy to search atm My boost spikes to ~20psi with my IEBC set 'open' (ie wastegate pressure) with Scotty's actuator, but I thought that was more of an issue caused by small wastegate on high flow turbo.
  5. ^ That's an interesting "feature". Why start your car remotely (sort of cool in a party trick kinda way), & then have it turn off as soon as you open the door to get in? I'm guessing it's a safety feature so little kids don't climb in & drive off (or a thief), but you'd normally be close to the car to use this anyway. Just wondering...
  6. You've had some stuff going on with your car lately, hey Ryan. I also don't think it's the cruise as mine hasn't given me that problem either (although I don't drive it much ), but like you say - it's easy to rule out as it only takes a minute to unplug the throttle harness. If the fault appears semi-regularly now, it shouldn't be long before you know. Hopefully it's not the F-Con but a TPS as that's means the F-Con is OK (as the last 'electrical' mod you've done it has to be high on the list of possibilities). It could also be the cruise control interacting badly with the F-Con, but I don't know anything about how they wire in so just throwing it out there... The timing of the fault is a bit of a coincidence with the F-Con going in though, & I have a hard time believing coincidences, so good luck with the fault finding.
  7. Here's the results of a test I did a while ago. As per above, the Informeter (display from OBD2 data) is accurate, thus confirming Nissan deliberately engineered our cars to show the incorrect speed on the dash.
  8. I would have jumped on that, but I see it is sold out - which is no wonder given such sharp pricing...
  9. Ok-doky then. I guess that's why it's called the 'Pro'. Is 8K safe for an unopened VQ25? Or should I say, safe for an extended operating life?
  10. 8K a bit high? (understatement much, lol). Is that an easy figure for your tuner to set? I would think you'd have about 2,500 rpm of 'not a lot happening' with the standard turbo.
  11. And I thought F-Con was supposed to be the bees-knees with no CEL issues...(thought I read that somewhere a year ago). I hope you get it where you are comfortable driving it around Ryan, CEL or not. Persistance is the key; and if you do find a good solution (with no CEL) you will be a forum hero .
  12. ^ that's a good thing - afaik no one on here has gone inside the VQ25DET (yet). It's not neccessary for a mild power increase - & most would say same for a big increase in power. Good luck with your M35 search - should be a fun time.
  13. Good that you've finally got cruise. Lol @ thread title - ended up with a CR unit anyway
  14. That's cool Scotty, in a racecar kind of way, lol. What did you do with the nav dvd, or don't you have one?
  15. Good reason, but begs the question why you set it up on E85 in the first place...? I bet you spent too much time talking to Scotty, lol.
  16. Only about 3 weeks now... lol. Good to hear you found & fixed the leak. Getting quick @ removing the plenum are we?
  17. Moving from E85 to BP Ultimate - why?
  18. Pic?
  19. Hi Steve IMO the most cost effective solution is to pull it out & send it off to be hi-flowed - search on here for Stao from Hypergear for starters - but there are others depending on where you live. There's a few options depending on what you want in the way of power. There's supposed to be a 'close to stock' version too, but i haven't heard much about it yet. Cost will be close to $1000 plus labour if you can't remove & fit it yourself.
  20. The old plenum in the intake trick (you have to say it like Maxwell Smart). So if I route mine to the rear & back (8m) I'll get extra performance? See, now I'm being silly
  21. Mate, there's no doubting it'll be sooo much better than the stock one. The question of length was simply me contemplating the universe, physics & automotive engineering (3 things I know pretty much nothing about, lol).
