  1. I never had any issues with bleeding mine after it was all dumped out. I checked it after every drive (5 or 6 times) & topped it up a few times to ensure every last space was fluid. But I also have a reasonable slope at my place & initially parked it downhill so the rear bleed was the highest point. However, if nothing else a nice upgrade would be to replace that silly plastic bleed. I don't know many times it can be counted on to be removed with being destroyed.
  2. How did you arrive at this figure? BTW, 83% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
  3. Nice! Did you do the Transgo install yourself?
  4. 1st things 1st, have you checked the trans fluid level & quality? You may be lucky & a fluid change or top up will fix it.
  5. C63 AMG Wagon? - beautiful car. And did you even look at the pics you posted? Talk about big exhaust/s, lol. And I too have plenty of ppl turning to look (interested, not puking) & stopping to chat. There's plenty of people who like wagons, to be sure. My wife even got a from a Highway Patrol - but not sure if it was the car or her that he was staring at cause they're both dead sexy! (imo)
  6. Why don't you say what you mean?, lol. I must agree - the stretched look just doesn't do anything for me either. The sidewall plays a valuable part in the way a tyre does its' job & a fit like that is compromising to say the least. One of many trends with cars where I don't get the point.
  7. My mechanical skills are pretty basic too There is a bit of stuff to remove but nothing is hard. Just keep pulling off bits till you can get to the rocker cover. There are a couple of bolts behind the plenum, but even those aren't very hard to get at. A simple socket set & maybe a couple of spanners is all you need for the whole job. I wouldn't take a day off work unless you have some sickies owing, haha. A Sat or Sunday arvo is all you need to allocate - you'll be fine
  8. The part is less than $30. By asking the question I can assume you aren't a gun mechanic, so the first time you do it will take a lot longer. Allow a couple of hours (max 4) to pull the plenum & ancillary crap off & replace. The last time I did this it took less than an hour to pull down & put back. Everything's heaps easier to remove after being cracked/unstuck previously.
  9. So that pic is our standard AFM pulled down? Didn't know it had circuitry inside, lol. I thought all the smarts were done at the ECU end. Yeah, send it up Ryan & I'll have a look. The problem could be simple, or not, but it's worth another go at it for the sake of the poor buggers having continual problems. And Scotty, you don't use your welder to fix these
  10. What component/s are in there? Probably a diode & resistor, lol. If someone wants to post me a broken AFM, I'll try to work out if a 'field refurbishing' kit is possible. The components might only cost $2... I've never had mine go faulty, & I've had it in/out dozens of times when playing intakes. There is something weird going on for those guys who have broken multiple AFMs.
  11. Oh no! Based on Aarons' advice I just bought a 2 speed Powerglide tranny to go in my M35. Back to the drawing board I suppose.
  12. That's a good price (Ebay), but check out Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=transgo%20RE5R05A&dds=1) as most guys who didn't buy their kit from Jetwreck got it there. It was fast shipping too. Craig will respond soon I'm sure. IMO it's a better deal to send the valve body to him (dead easy job removing & refitting) as it will be done right. Even so called experts can get these things wrong, or they take a long time so cost more, unless they've one recently. I'd get a FIRM quote before going ahead. The upside of getting a local to do the work is it will be quicker (it's the return shipping that costs a few days) & less messy, but if you can have the car off the road for a short time then save some cash & send it to Jetwreck.
  13. Looks nice Dale. Did you block up the small pipe on the intake when you removed the hose? If not, there will be a small amount of unmetered air getting in. I don't think it will change much though.
  14. That's a bummer mate. Lucky you hadn't already spent the time/money to have it sprayed.
  15. I say give it a go where it fits for you & see if it works. Chances are it'll be fine. Alternatively, can you either a) use the factory solenoid instead of the supplied one (cut off wires & use existing plug to hook into you new controller), or b) totally remove the factory one & mount your new one on the same bracket? And in case you're wondering, no, you won't throw a CEL or anything else. I cut mine off over a year ago & hooked the EBC up to the factory solenoid.
  16. Google 'long expiry' phone plans. Most discount resellers use Optus network so you need to be sure there's coverage where your car will normally be stolen. The first plan I saw was $15 for 6 months.
  17. Andy's words describe it perfectly, but here's a pic (I've posted elsewhere) which could help those following on. Let us know how it goes Ryan.
  18. Bad earth.
  19. May be ugly but the rozzers ignore us. Anyone feeling irresponsible can peel off a 12-13 sec qtr in front of them & they'll turn around & book one of you P platers for dark tint, lol. Plus we can fit half of your car in the back. ^^^ haha Mark, I think you've done a fine job on the Stagline. It's unique & you did it your way . All that's left is to convert the back two thirds....
  20. More than most people think . There are a couple of low cost mods which will be sufficient to keep enough 98 up to it to run even a hi-flow turbo (on low boost). No issues with standard turbo. Will need more injector for E85 obviously.
  21. There's a bit of a DIY on doing the plenum spacer here: http://www.m35stagea...c.php?f=20&t=15. The pics on putting it back together could be helpful. Otherwise you could take heaps of pics & make up a DIY for those that follow behind..? But it'll look a bit like this when you pull it apart.
  22. Correct, no use going to a DYNO unless you have a method of tuning. However, reset your ECU so you can more easily feel the difference made by the exhaust, rather than waiting for it to adjust slowly as it learns.
  23. What's the prob Syd? You got the bulb out, right? Is it a weird one with no direct aftermarket replacement? Pic? I don't have those switches otherwise I'd have already pulled mine out & sent it to you
