  1. But didn't you put your faith in Emanage for a while & now Fcon? Where does that fit in with your electronics theory? To a certain extent I'm with you, but our cars aren't carby fed pushrod dinosaurs -they're chock full of electronics already. I guess you are talking about using the highest quality electronics...?
  2. Not sure what Ryan's doing, but mine is between dump & cat.
  3. That stuff you linked looks pretty good. My wideband cable was long enough to go across to the drivers' side, then up against the firewall & back across thru the battery compartment. Where it passed anything remotely hot, I folded strips of the stick-on aluminium heat shield around the cable - the same stuff as I bought to stick above the dump pipe & cat etc. It's not overly pretty, but can't be seen anyway. I have a feeling that the cable it fairly robust & resilient to heat (within reason), but I didn't want to risk it melting. If you look at where the stock oxy sensor cable goes (close to turbo & manifold) you may not be too concerned about your new one.
  4. I have a cable (+ laptop) & can set the idle to whatever I like (within reason). I should send it down to you one day; if no one in Melbourne has one you can borrow.
  5. Stockpiling more stuff Ryan? I've never known a bloke to buy so much & install so little . I'm sure this time it'll get done, right? Lol, hope it goes together easy for you mate. Exciting times.
  6. What line are you referring to here Dale? Is it to replace the famous banjo - banjo oil feed line? If so I need some details. Looking forward to more driving impressions after you've had time behind the wheel (& don't call me up & go "broom broom". lol). Happy b'day to the young fella too
  7. Anytime. Kettle's on / beer in fridge.
  8. That makes 3 then. Sorry Josh, I'm voting you as the delivery point, lol. Makes sense if more of you are in Brisbane. Either that or you all come down here for a vist...
  9. More room than a Koenigsegg, lol.
  10. Nate, where are you getting yours sent? There's at least 2 guys on the list above from Brisbane (Joshm35 & dcdc), you're at the Goldy & I'm not that far further south. I'm OK with mine going to one of the Brissy guys. I can get it from there & drop yours off. Or if you are in more of a hurry, I'll get mine from you at Robina Craig, is 4 bars enough to do a combined post to Qld?
  11. Wait, it's wedged in by some pot you've grown in your garden? Is that so you can pass the time waiting for the missus to come out of the shops?
  12. That gauge pod is pretty cool, but did you consider trying to put it in the top vent hole? Nothing much goes in or out of there; I've had mine blocked for ages & noticed no difference.
  13. Haha, yes, it's a slippery slope - one thing leads to another....
  14. That's what I did the second time & it seemed to work well. I think that would be safe (minimal risk of getting into the oil) & makes the job easier.
  15. Mine had a thin bead of grey silicon on it from the last person (factory??). I cleaned it off before replacing the gasket.
  16. Nice job Adam . Lots of time & hard work has paid off. I hope you don't get a shock when (if?) you tally up the receipts.
  17. Make sure you take some pics Dale - love to see what you've done. Could it be the prototype for a future manufacturing run...?
  18. Will do - maybe a swap of some sort could be on the cards? Not sure if tuning can totally eliminate lag. I suppose programable boost control can help somewhat, & supposedly retarding timing can also help. I should stop whinging about it, lol, & just get on with making it work. Also, just because I think it's too laggy doesn't mean someone else won't be raving over it.
  19. I've had the car pulled apart trying to fix an oil leak & just haven't had the time to work on it. In reality I haven't driven more than a few hundred K's since it was installed. With some tuning I may be able to make it more acceptable to me. More likely, I will put it back together, take it to Willowbank to set a time & then swap it to something like Dale's. I have my doubts that I can get it to a point where it will suit how I like to drive the car, but I'll see - eventually.
  20. Nice looking turbo Dale. Looking forward to your review; I can see myself changing to something like that.
  21. I'm really going to have to investigate these coatings more because I drive my nimble beast at the limit every time I take it out. LOL.
  22. Lol, you got credit in the article for coming all the way from Qld.
  23. I've heard the wireless transmitters don't work properly sometimes. It could be a quality thing, or maybe distance to receiver. Let us know if you guys were successful. Cheers.
  24. Mmm, interesting, thanks guys. Will have to do some research. Mods that net only small gains are valid, especially if super easy & cheap to do (ie wrap, not necessarily coatings )
  25. Feelin' your pain Dale. Putting off my 2nd removal - just don't have the energy right now. I can't believe you had most of your exhaust wrapped. I stuck some reflective insulation on the underbody till just past the cat & thought that'll keep more heat out of the cabin. But extra exhaust velocity? Valid theory; real world gains or placebo?
