  1. That's all good, except if you want to run the spotties without high beam (or any head lights). That's why I previously used a 2 position switch, with the other position simply operating another relay to turn them on constantly. Of course that was before everyone started running with fog/driving lights on during the day & the police started cracking down on such use. To keep it nice & legal, maybe best to stick with only on when on high beam....
  2. I did this for a set of foggies on a Liberty years ago. I had a 2 position switch that allowed me to either a) lock them on, regardless of headlight position, or b) have them turn on & off with high beam. That made them a practical addition. What would annoy you, & oncoming traffic lol, is if you had to dip head lights & also turn of the driving lights as a separate action. I'd be happy to play around & help out with a circuit.
  3. They look great when on Ryan - nice job. I'm tempted to convert mine. Do they throw out a decent beam? I can't think of the last time I actually used mine as fog lights, but Murphys' Law states that as soon as I change them I will need to travel a long distance in the worst fog in living memory.
  4. I reckon you could get it to work if you swapped out all those things. Wouldn't it be easier (& arguably cheaper) to trade your car for one that already has it? Alternatively, there may be aftermaket devices that read data from CAN/OBDII port, that allow you to display that info plus heaps more. Do a search on Carputer (car PC) on this forum &, more likely, the V Series forum, or the interweb in general - lots of cool stuff being done.
  5. Silver C34 with Qld plates at Macadamia Castle, 4:15pm
  6. I've got so much stuff going thru there that I've left a permanent draw wire.
  7. Dark blue/black C34 (VIC plates) in turning lane to go to beach @ Skennars - mustn't have liked the look of it & headed towards Lennox Hd. My son spotted them later from the bus on his way home school.
  8. Have I missed the bit where you ask for the money? If so text me the details Ryan & I'll sort it out ASAP. If that comes later then that's OK, I'll wait for your instructions.
  9. Try clearing the code (procedure is on here somewhere, or easier to find on www.m35stagea.info). If driving OK, just leave it for a while. I think I read it will reset itself after a few hundred kays, but if that's not right someone will correct me.
  10. It really is as easy as it looks. I have a knack of making things sound more complicated than they are, I dunno why, just a gift i have . And call me if you have any questions. I can't have you missing the wedding, or turning up in a dirty car. That would play on my conscience & I would feel terrible for ages (at least 2 minutes, lol).
  11. I was in Sydney in '86 & there was a fine sunny day - March 17th from memory. You must have been out of town. Ryan, let me know how the cruise control install goes this weekend. No excuses now you've got the broken bolt removed.... (last dig, honest).
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/390177-torn-bush-m35/page__view__findpost__p__6214456 - for context read a few posts above here.
  13. That's the one.
  14. Hey, they're the peppered frogs I had for dinner last night! Yummy. Were you spying Alex...?
  15. Nice work on the price reduction Ryan . Are these still the same kits - just bought via a reseller? Do they have you asked about a direct post deal or should I not complicate matters & get it shipped via you in SA? (and not one mention of artic wildlife) ahh, crap.
  16. Yeah, easiest way to ruin a decent joke is to explain it. May have to move this to the recipe chat thread, lol. You know, because we're talking about eating peppered frogs and all. D'oh, done it again.
  17. Haha, no worries mate, they aren't really in my drain pipe . It was all part of a longer joke (read a few posts back about the coughing polar bear cub). I had to google endangered frogs in my area to come up with the peppered tree frog. I have no idea even what they look like. Maybe it wasn't funny, but I thought it amusing that I might be concerned about shipping the suspension kits twice & thereby causing polution that could affect a polar animal, & then going out to kill an endangered frog. Obviously I'm easily amused....
  18. Now that Iain has departed is seems inevitable.
  19. So in Jethro's case.... driving past with low & too much tint... a criminal act?? I reckon he had a good case to tell them to get of his property.
  20. BTW, youj can fit a bigger filter if you want. The flat surface the filter mates onto is quite large. Just get one with same thread & bigger body & it will work OK.
  21. Looks really neat Alex. Well done to all involved thus far. What does HKS suggest re BOV, if anything? Surely they gave detailed engineering info, like how they acheived their design criteria for a truly bolt-on/no mods necessary kit such as yours, lol. And you don't strike me as the fully hektic type that goes around looking for trouble. I'm sure there's a solution somewhere...
  22. I'm not sure if things are different in Vic (well, we know they are in many respects, lol) but if I drove into my driveway & the police were more than 30sec behind, I'd already be in my garage with the auto door on the way down. The only way he would be checking out my car is if he turned up later with a warrant ! Not sure about the law here if it was parked outside in my driveway tho.
  23. I agree ^. I was 'lucky' to have some roll into me almost a year ago. The insurance repair replaced the tailgate skin (& repainted) & they gave me the new badges & templates in case I wanted to put them on later. I don't think I would have debadged it if I could see outlines. Always a silver lining if you look hard enough....
  24. So how small can we go to do the job? I'd reckon it doesn't need to be half as big as the trans cooler to be OK, considering we don't have one at all. Then i started wondering if a larger one (trans cooler size or even bigger) mounted out of the front airflow (a bit tight for space there) would radiate enough heat to be effective?
  25. That's been a while coming. Are you going to buy one? Keen to hear what the quality of info is like. I have managed to make do with the Japanese version (helpful comparing it with the G35 ones) until now.
