That's excellent, & not too expensive IMO. The problem has always been not knowing if the scan tool would work on our M35's before buying. I'm interested in what the Target Ign Timing Adjust does?

Hi Adam I'm no expert but the Panasonic dvd would be JDM aftermarket & no good here. What is your current head unit? Is it the fully integrated Bose? I think the pop up screen would be difficult to get working where there wasn't one before. Maybe someone like Brad will chime in, but I'd guess save your money & don't get a surround with screen.

Had An Accident Today - No Insurance
Commsman replied to Equilibrise's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Me too. I don't think I've ever had a good experience, or even what I'd consider to be a fair outcome. No, wait, I tell a lie. About 14 yrs ago someone hit my wife's car & it was fixed satisfactorily with minimal stuffing around. So that's once out of numerous dealings (not only cars)... -
Had An Accident Today - No Insurance
Commsman replied to Equilibrise's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
True, but I think they were meaning get it insured now and fix it without claiming for this unisured accident. At least I hope so.... -
It's to do with the fault codes that your car may get from time to time when something is faulty or out of parameter. It's a very handy diagnostic method to determine what's wrong.

That's helpful having that info in one post (especially with shipping prices) Brendan, thanks. Another option from the same site is to choose the 350Z BBK which is a little more expensive but has 'Nissan' printed on the calipers instead of Infiniti (doesn't bother me tho), & can come in "40th anniversary red" if that floats your boat. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=4073&Car_Type=350Z&UID=20120125182346203.161.79.69

This Is The New Recipe Chat Thread...
Commsman replied to Houdini's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
What's a good time for 1/8 mile? They run drags over that distance not far from me, but never knew what to expect time wise. May have to give it a go sometime. That distance was chosen so they didn't have to build a crash barrier (between lanes) the entire length of the track (old airport). Must be some rule about safety... -
This is the layout of the white socket on your tuner: 1________6 2__3__4__5 1 - audio right (red - inner conductor) 2 - audio left (white - inner conductor) 3 - audio ground (shield of both red & white above) 4.- video (yellow - inner conductor) 5 - not used 6 - video shield (yellow - outer sheild)

This Is The New Recipe Chat Thread...
Commsman replied to Houdini's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
For nearly everyone these are our daily drivers. Makes sense that we try for our best times whilst loaded up with car seats/tools/amps/sofas etc, that's just how we drive them, hey. Otherwise it becomes a case of 'he who has the time to strip the most out of his car' wins, lol. Raises an interesting question: how much more power/torque is required just to offset an extra 100kg? -
Superpro Potential Group Buy
Commsman replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks Dale & Ryan. Both of you have put my mind at ease. But gotta run; a family of peppered tree frogs has set up camp in my downpipe, & if I don't kill them they'll have me up all night. -
Superpro Potential Group Buy
Commsman replied to bigkevracer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I suppose SuperPro won't ship them direct but have to go via Adelaide? It's not so much the extra few dollars in shipping plus the longer delivery time I'm concerned about - but more about the additional strain on the environment. I know it's unlikely to kill a penguin (they're surprisingly resilient) but there's a fair chance a polar bear cub will get a nasty cough & I don't want that on my conscience. -
Sorry, I was having too much fun to take any pics. I have good video of some of the roads we drove. Will edit a small clip or 2 & post sometime.

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
Commsman replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You really got your moneys worth out of the old ones. -
Today I picked up 2 GoPro cameras & have 1 pointing front & back. They are set up for full 1080P (HD & widescreen) & I'll try to mix up my road position to get good footage of every car. So here's a small incentive to show up: I will burn the video to a DVD & post a copy to every car owner/driver on the cruise! Of course no tunnel footage will be allowed, lol. It should be a good cruise, hope to see heaps of people there. Cheers, Leon.

Ok everyone, the cruise is tomorrow. No one has suggested departure times, so I'll take a stab at it. Springwood: (McDonalds car park) 9:30 for 10am departure Elanora: (Salk Oval car park - near The Pines Shopping centre) 10:30 for 11am departure Anywhere else along the way, please organise amongst yourselves. I'll be at Elanora as I'm coming up from the south. I think I'll do the Tomewin road on the way there to refresh my memory. If the travelling times I've suggested are unrealistic, someone please let me/us know & offer an alternative. We will also stop at either (or some/all) Murwillumbah, Crystal Ck, Chillingham for a coffee, chat, toilet break etc, then on to lunch near Natural Bridge. We should easily get there by 12:30 depending on how often/long we stop.

Retro-Fitting Factory Options For M35 Stagea
Commsman replied to VSPEC32's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
There's this sort of thing that someone has had reasonable success with I think: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-ASWC-Universal-Steering-Interface/dp/B0039H2W66 And found this guide (prob not too helpful): http://caraudiomag.com/articles/steering-wheel-control-interface-install BTW, Nissan switches will set you back about $77 - $85. Come in a pair with cruise on RHS, audio on LHS, but if you're keen you can cut one side off & just use the balnk panel. -
Will be good to have you along John. Found a place near Natural Bridge that could be a nice stop for lunch. Two Pines Cafe, 3175 Nerang-Murwillumbah Road. Spoke with them & they have the standard cafe food (pies, burgers -from $8.50, steak sandwiches 'bout $15, full meals as well) so won't break the bank & hopefully suits most people. Still open to suggestions tho'. According to Google maps street view, they have easy access parking for 10 cars. They told me they would open up the block next door (weather permitting) if we needed more room.

The ARX badge on the back is also an indication... It's good that we now get to see what happens to this car since it was the topic of discussion for a while. Please us updated as you progress. Good luck with getting it fixed & back on the road.

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?
Commsman replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hahha. I wish I took more measurements/details so I could share. But one of the reasons I'm so pleased with the outcome is my ~25% air bypass of the AFM which stops me hitting the voltage plateau. The Wyle Coyote blueprint that I bought of the 'net just had a fan & a sail so I got ripped off. -

Mine isn't & it works perfectly well (after some special tweaking). First try too . -
I bet no Nismo ECU is tuned for a car with a big fat intake??? As far as I can see, the problem with any of these pre-programmed ECUs is they can't be optimised for our cars which are all a bit different. In some way they have to be "best fit". If only some enterprising person over here would learn how to hack the damm thing & offer customised tuning. Otherwise we continue to tinker around the edges without getting right inside.

LOL. If we look at your past history I'd say that statement is right on the money. But keep us posted as I'm interested to see how your car goes on the track. -
Umm, that link works for me. I even changed IP address & computer & clicked the link. Still works. Try this (in full): http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=204827697789425650374.0004b68fdddc226e15477 Anyone who can't see it let me know & I'll see what else I can do.

Here's a rough map. Not set in stone. Departure/meet points not shown except Springwood which seems the usual Brisbane Sth side meet up. Need someone to nominate somewhere on Gold Coast, preferably on the south bound side of motorway, to meet. Then we can decide on times. Cheers, Leon.
