  1. Iain blew his by sucking in fine red dust @ Coffs rally. Apparently his filter didn't seal perfectly against the airbox. Could your failure be related to you running that pod filter...? I think I may have commented previously "no free lunch", lol.
  2. I just found the awesome forum thread too, & it sounds too pricey for my liking. If you can do without driving your car over 2500rpm for a while, the cheaper option would be the go.
  3. Pretty sure I heard Iain say a X-Trail one is the same. Might be a a 2nd handy around (local wrecker) if you only need it for a few months. Otherwise they mightn't be too expensive new from Nissan. If you buy one, it will only be a matter of time before you can sell it to someone else with the same problem, haha Edit: found the post from Iain- "...same as a t30 xtrail - 22680-6N211. thats for the hotwire only, not the whole tube - which isnt required anyway"
  4. Mine arrived today & have gone straight into the Christmas stocking. Thanks again Paul.
  5. Mmm, mine was mainly @ 115, with city stop/start thrown in. Do you have a wideband meter yet? I recommend ones that can replace the EGO input into the ECU with a modified narrowband output so you can run a bit leaner on closed loop if you want. Then an interceptor on the AFM signal & you have full control. At the amount of extra fuel you are using now, you'll probably get your money back pretty quickly, lol.
  6. I totally agree. There was the generalisation, which is normally true btw, that young = not a good driver. I wanted to extinguish the flames before they took hold .
  7. Whoa, Iain, is that a can of worms I hear you opening, lol. Although most likely true, I can think of a heap of teenagers/early twenties guys (& gals??) who could drive better than me - on a race track anyway, where there's no worry of a lost licence. Although I might be a better (safer) driver now then when I was 18-20, I certainly don't have the nads for risk taking like I used to.
  8. Is the writing etched on? I've only ever seen cheap cars with a sticker - easily removed. BTW, how'd your car go today with the cruise install?
  9. Nice! It must be that awesome ECU throwing heaps of fuel into your engine.
  10. Sorry Robbie, no flame intended. I read my post back & it did have a 'tone' . Extra options are always welcomed. I just wanted to back up Dale as I was impressed by the lengths he went to for the GB. It's always more than just emailing the supplier for some parts. Heck, he was that swamped he even had to enlist his 2yo to tape up the swaybars for posting, lol. Re the rear mounts, they may not be necessary, but I hate doing stuff twice.
  11. Now I'm testing my memory. I think a couple of guys with sway bars had the rear mounts crack under the extra load, hence the manufacture of the HD stainless items. Someone with a better memory (or better search skills) might be able to help more.
  12. No, not free but not expensive either. They aren't a catalogue item. Dale made them / got them made for us.

  14. That is a bit high for all highway, except if you were cannon balling in NT, lol. Did a highway/city mix to Goldy & back yesterday. 10.0L/100. Would have been an easy 9 - 9.5 if I had the patience to set the cruise on 90 instead of 1XX.
  15. Maybe 'cause of freight costs? But can he provide the heavy duty rear brackets? Does he provide the same back up service as Dale? I'd pay a bit more just for that....
  16. Thanks for clearing that up Brad (obviously I've got no idea, haha). All I know is I'm glad my car didn't come with the integrated stereo/AC controls.
  17. Doesn't the 14MHz in this case refer to the JDM radio range (76 - 90Mhz)? The band expander takes it to 88 - 108MHz which is a 20MHz range. IMO the one you linked is what you need.
  18. I used to run 40, thinking it was on the high end, then more than one tire place told me that was too low. They suggest closer to 50psi as I'll scrub the edges off anyway so might as well wear the middle of the tread with the higher pressure. Ask around as I'm keen to know if it's just a local thing or if it's a widely held belief. BTW, may not be as applicable for different sized tires. Mine are the popular M35 size, 245/50/18.
  19. Hi Mark, If it were me, I'd just enjoy the car till you get off your P's (if that's the case) & then sell/trade for a vehicle that either has, or can easily obtain, your chosen power goal.
  20. Hi Sasha, about $250 (or less) delivered. However, I can't say if I have any for you right now. Another guy was after one & I wanted to keep one for any warranty issues that may come up. If you are patient, I may be able to get the last one to you in a few weeks. Cheers, Leon.
  21. And how did that work out for you? Ended up with a 5 cylinder Lolvo from memory.
  22. But not at random Iain, just sayin'
  23. Yeah! Told ya so. I think you will find if you try to 'measure' it, there will be a difference in the dry too.
  24. And Dale probably counted the time I spent chatting about nothing in particular, haha. I know he spent a fair bit of time probing wires to find a suitable power source where I didn't have to. I've been asked to compile an install PDF (that is more concise than my current rambling thoughts) & so look forward to Dale's inclusions. Thanks mate
