  1. Off cut of vinyl (free), hairdryer, couple of hours on a rainy day. Easy DIY & removable if you want a change. I did mine years ago & still looks as new. A bit of polish brings it up nice & shiny.
  2. Looks great Alex. I think you will be pleased with the Invo as a tyre choice. Not only provides excellent levels of grip in both wet & dry conditions, it's a quiet tyre as well. I remember when the exotics (Lambo/Ferrari etc) ran wide low profile tyres & they were something like 275/50's. Everyone was impressed because passenger tyres were still 60's & 70's. My dad remembers when cars of old (maybe they were called carriages or buggies then, lol) ran big wheels - 17's, 18's etc, but then slowly went down to 13's & 14's. I know bigger wheels will allow bigger brakes, but in reality I think wheel & tyre sizes are mainly a fashion thing. Yours look good now, but you kids/grandchildren will have a laugh in 20 years
  3. If you get really stuck let me know. Can send you my old one if you pay post, but may be easier & cheaper to get one locally.
  4. Sorry, not me. My screen is still the OEM one. What pic in this thread are you looking at? Surely not the rice M35 pic I posted yesterday, lol. That one was in Japan afaik.
  5. This was the pic I was really looking for before. It's the classy & subtle way the owner went about the whole thing that really impresses.
  6. Oops, sorry - I forgot about that. Thanks for the correction, Scotty So my post should read; "The speed signal can be intercepted at the TCU where it comes from the wheel sensor/s" But other than my gaff with where the sig comes from, it doesn't change the difficulty of rectifying the issue without interfering with other car functions (the point I was trying to emphasise). Like getting our ECUs programmed locally, I bet we won't see a suitable speedo correction solution, lol.
  7. Interesting to see them get it working on an M35. Does it inferface with our CAN? (I bet it doesn't). The speed signal can be intercepted at the TCU where it comes from the gearbox (It's about 149Hz at 20km/h if anyone's interested). After that it's transported by the CAN bus. If the VSS is changed, it could affect other things as the ECU won't know the true speed. At the very least the trip info/fuel consumption would be out, & we'd probably lose some top speed as the cut out would come in earlier (not that it's a huge deal unless at the track).
  8. Yes, but Nissan still used a little sealant on the cover gasket, at least mine had some when I removed it. Someone should tell those engineers the theory & see what they think.... On sealing around the spark plug tube, totally agree - it's pointless. Better to syringe it out every so often than risk it.
  9. Hey Justin, you are probably more used to the Skyline (or other) forums where things can get nasty quickly. The Stagea guys are a lot more friendly than most & Alex is one of the more helpful guys (that happens to like a little joke every now & then, as we all do ). He is far removed from a troll. For more serious answers to questions, try a post on m35stagea.info. It's not visited as often but threads are less likely to get sidetracked for the lols.
  10. I'm going to purge some of the >900 users this week.
  11. Yep, that didn't take long, lol. Quite a bit of spam after just a few hours. New users now have to be approved by admin.
  12. Fixed. I disabled new registrations while I cleaned house. Someone let me know if we get attacked by bots & I might make registration by admin approval instead of immediate.
  13. Have you tried copying the text from the PDF & using an online translator?
  14. We're up again. Remember, all the good info goes there & the rubbish stays on SAU
  15. See if any of this helps. It seems the pages after the ones I've printed are predominately about the navi operation & repair. AVpt1.pdf AVpt2.pdf What I normally do is find what I think I need in the English G35 version & then try to find the equivalent section in the Japanese M35 manual (translating where necessary). If there happens to be any changes to wiring terminals/colours etc, you may be able to catch it before cutting the wrong wire. AV_lowres.pdf Good luck & let me know if you need more. Cheers, Leon.
  16. Check on the Stagea forum. Dale (Daleo) sells Whiteline swaybars for V's as well as the various Stagea models. He provides excellent service & cheaper than in stores afaik. They made an amazing difference to my cars' handling.
  17. Is now the time for a physics lesson on why wider tyres don't put more rubber on the road, just change the shape of the contact patch...? The exceptions are if you a) lower the air pressure or b) add more weight to the car (can also be weight added by aero at speed). The biggest issue is in wet weather when the wider tyres aquaplane much sooner. Of course some of this can be offset by getting better performing tyres. I suppose suffering for fashion isn't just a girl thing, lol.
  18. Lol^. The upside for the less agile is that it is very easy to get in & out; quite SUVish.
  19. And you're off & racing . Good spot for catch can. My passenger side one is there too.
  20. Nice. I couldn't remember where I'd got that pic.
  21. Top pic not mine, but thanks. (Mine is better, lol). Bottom pic is from G35. A search on G35driver.com will return quite a few good ideas, but mostly rice A-pillar pods.
  22. Just got to get creative.
  23. Lol, I know there are lots of guys who aren't gurus of any sort, so I too recommend the simple switch (which was how I ran mine for ages). But this mod comes up so often that once people wrap their heads around the (very simple) concept, it invariably leads to alternatives being discussed. And from memory, I think you Scotty came up with a few left field ideas in the other thread..... Now this ^^ is pure gold. Great idea Gary
  24. Let me know next time you're driving south into NSW & I'll do it for you Josh.
