  1. Seriously couldn't pick the difference??? Did you try the "launch" test? That's really the only way to tell. On my car it was really obvious if the brake wire was disconnected or not. Do a test with, then straight away a test without & let us know.
  2. Sorry, I should have clarified. If you want to go to the track or live where you won't get locked up for driving faster than 170km/h, then you will need something else.
  3. A few months ago I sent one to guy over there who had an import yard. I joked with him about becoming a regular installer but haven't heard anything from him recently. I'll follow that up for you. Having said that, quite a few tuners have gone to WA & I think everyone has done their own installs. It's not overly hard, especially in a V35 as you don't have as much trim to pull off as the Stageas. Also I'm happy to respond to any PM you send me asking for advice.
  4. Turned out to be not neccesary at all. Actually there's a lot of stuff going on around here that's not neccesary IMO... But sometimes just spending the money is half the fun & it keeps the economy ticking over, so it's not all bad.
  5. I think they are OK, but below is the one I've been using which has been correct for everything I've done. ECU_PINOUTS 13_12_10.PDF
  6. Your tuner should have come with a lead that plugs in as per this pic. The part that goes into the tuner looks like a stereo headphone plug. If you can get an output from your phone to mate up with it, you will have GPS on your nav screen as soon as you apply 12V to the yellow wire. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you need more info. Cheers, Leon.
  7. Follow these steps: 1. connect the camera power to the reverse lights 2. run the 12V from the reverse lights to a relay (other side to earth) 3. run the 12V from the reverse lights to the yellow wire on the tuner power connector 4. the switched circuit of the relay has an earth one side & the other side is soldered onto C1 terminal inside the OEM tuner When you select reverse the lights power up the camera, switch the tuner to the aux input (camera) & activate the relay to put an earth on the contact to immediately switch your screen to display the reverse camera picture. Easy!
  8. I installed an IEBC on the weekend & ended up using the factory solenoid to do the control, just rerouted the hoses & wired it up to my controller. I tested a solenoid I had bought 15 years ago, but it didn't want to pulse reliably above about 30% duty cycle so gave it the flick in favour of the one Nissan already supplied, thanks guys .
  9. Not all screens, ie error messages, have been translated. My airbag error message just disappeared after the English translation. The Russians did a good job, but only did the 'normal' screens from what I can see and ignored all the other potentially helpful messages.
  10. Mmm, I think black eyed man is envious. Maybe he would be happier with the creaky, squealy, squeaking VP if he got rid of his creaky, squealy, squeaking kids, lol.
  11. G'day. USB = yes, SD = no. These were supposed to come with SD slot but for some reason that didn't happen. USB is for loading new firmware (not likely you will need this), for playing media files & for recording live TV for playing back later. I would say most people would rarely use these functions. To answer your other questions; 1 - no. 2 - no. Suggestions.... CarPC with touch screen overlay (decent sized project) or portable GPS with suction cap for windscreen (much simpler project), lol. The TV tuner has an AV input which other people have used to display GPS on the pop up screen. You just set up your phone to navigate where you want to go & then plug it in. Have a chat with Brad since you are in SA.
  12. Would the cluster be too big to go on top of the clock surround? In a nicely formed housing, of course.
  13. How handy are you at making stuff? There's plenty of good ideas out there, but I've not seen anything decent that you can buy straight up, besides the standard A-pillar mounted gauge pods that look a little out of place in a M35, IMO. Do you just want to relocate the single DIN factory gauges? If you don't have the Nav DVD ROM in the flip up section they will fit there nicely.
  14. Lock 2 nuts against one another & then try to 'undo' the bottom one. Since it's stuck in place by the top one, the stud will come out. Mmm, explanation flakey, but you'll work it out... Edit - I've not pulled my plenum off so ignore this if I've misunderstood your question.
  15. Care to explain how a change in diff ratio makes no diff (oh look, a pun) to the speedo reading? Am I missing something obvious?
  16. It's all good. Next time it will work out . So, did anyone take a picture of the 4 cars at Pacific Fair, or did that seem a bit lame, lol?
  17. I told you us Stagea drivers aren't afraid of a bit of rain . Actually it was very heavy on the way there, with plenty of cars stopped under bridges, but we soldiered on. I had the family with me so we just watched a DVD while we waited, as well as the lightning over the ocean at Currumbin. It's a nice spot there, I'm sorry you guys missed it. Next time I might get a mobile phone number of someone....
  18. Here's a pic I took of all the cars at the Currumbin meet point this afternoon. Where was everyone else?
  19. Thanks Dale. You did a good job; very neat. Did you colour the edge at all (permanent marker, black paint) or is that the raw colour? Since mine is silver I may have to find a creative way to camo the edge - if it is visible at all.
  20. Hi Nick. The link in your sig needs fixing.
  21. Ahh, OK, say no more. It would be a real downer for everyone to get caught in a hail storm. There's been a bit of that going around lately, at least down my way, so it will pay to be safe.
  22. V35 drivers don't 'cruise' in wet weather?? I drove to Sydney 2 weeks ago (in the rain), went on a cruise with 22 other Stagea owners (in the rain) and drove 8hrs home (you guessed it, in the rain) .
  23. Hey Dale, I like the look with the support cut out of the front, and checked mine & it looks like the mesh goes right across in one piece (never noticed when I had it out recently). Can you send me a close up pic of how the bottom cut turned out? I'm concerned that will leave a rough/dodgy edge visible, if I don't have a specialty cutting tool like you used.
  24. I don't have a gauge in the cabin, just one on top of the reg, so it's hard to tell what happens under boost conditions.I may buy a sensor to add to my AFR display. However, I thought that most rising rate regs increased pressure at 1:1 ratio to counteract the boost. That would be the easiest to manufacture as well, with the hose simply adding boost pressure to the diaphram. All the rising rate regs that have a higher ratio than 1:1 seem to be much more expensive & would probably advertise the fact that they have this feature.
