  1. Lol, I wish it worked like that. With the amount of unburnt fuel coming out the back, I was surprised there wasn't 2 feet of flames. No such luck however.
  2. Is that what caused it? Yeah, let's just fill this one up. It's almost impossible to do anything here. I'll add some white space - that might help. Thanks Ryan
  3. Did anyone with an intake notice that they ran particularly rich when backing off? Before the e-manage tune of course. I've tuned mine so the AFR's are good at light to medium loads (runs really nice actually), but when I lift off after accelerating, the AFR's start to go lean (as they should when coasting) but then go full rich (10:1 on my display) for a few seconds which causes a heap of smoke out the back. I can post pics of log graphs if it will help, but it really just displays what I said (I hope ). I'm thinking of returning the intake to stock to confirm the problem goes away and then get some graphs to compare with the new ones, but that will require some work... As an aside, I don't know if anyone else has seen this, but it appears to me that the standard ECU has another map that it refers to after a certain rate of acceleration (or throttle application) occurs. I found this out because my AFRs remained essentially unchanged at the top end regardless of what I did to the AFM signal at those load points. It is like it ignores the AFM signal & does it's own thing.
  4. That is lightning fast shipping. I think they foresaw your imminent purchase & actually posted them last Monday, lol. How many people are you taking with you?
  5. Haha, where do you think I live? People round here don't care if someone is lurking suspiciously around the back of their car. If I was in Iraq it might be a different story. There was no almost getting arrested. LOL.
  6. Lol, spotted it parked in a street as I was driving. No one came over to ask what I was doing measuring stuff at the back, so all good.
  7. I had to go back & take another look as didn't notice it either. Initially thought "so what, just another std M35", but now that I see it properly -
  8. Talk about going the extra mile, lol. I spotted a new X-Trail just now and measured the light surround. It is about 70mm long & about the same width as ours, maybe a little narrower. So although it isn't quite the same size, you may be able to make up something to hold it in there, since it is pretty well hidden on our cars anyway. I'm thinking thin aluminium sheet with cut out for new light/camera gizmo & holes to screw it into the Stag mount points for original light.
  9. I think he was meaning the whole fitting. Possibly something to do with a reverse cam. Sorry to say, in my case no. The Stag housing has 100mm screw spacing with a flat plastic cover. My X-Trail has screw spacings of 55mm with an old fashioned bulbous looking cover hidden under the tailgate handle. Mine is an early model though. I think the more current ones could be the same. Can you drop by a Nissan place to have a look?
  10. Hi Michael, I believe they do. I have some config files (load by USB port) that allow for operation in most places with most systems. The samples I was sent last year didn't work here (was able to select all the European countries but they had wrong channel spacing) but fixed it with a new file in about 4 minutes. I'd be happy to give you money back if it doesn't work in NZ. Cheers, Leon.
  11. Yeah, I've got an X-Trail, though it's a 2003 STR model if that makes a difference. What do you need?
  12. Mate, your talents are wasted in I.T. Nice work - very pro. I like it a lot.
  13. Don't go expecting any real difference (performance wise) from an air filter replacement. In fact, unless you have forced induction, a whole new aftermarket intake makes nearly no difference. This is a good read - http://g35driver.com/forums/intake-exhaust/360896-dynoing-out-myth-intake-mods-results.html
  14. Nice one Alex . Darker wheels look great on the silver M35's IMO.
  15. Just out of curiousity, what did the best Stag do?
  16. Haha. So it was one of mine then. Regardless of model it's a good upgrade, & if it keeps the missus/kids happy then it's even better.
  17. So he just wasn't thinking. I'd say he's never had a decent car before, at least not one he's been proud of anyway. Glad your wife likes the TV, but the Asuka didn't come from me. The ones I supply are essential the same, but a different brand. Brad installs the new ones too, but he was hanging onto a few of the Asuka model for the right customer. Turns out to be you
  18. Mate, I just checked & I can't find that file there, ooops. Sorry, I must have missed it when I loaded the others. You can download the G35 AV file here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/n4sg5i as it's too big to post directly. It will only be available for a few weeks tho. It has block diagrams of connectors showing pin numbers & wire colours etc. It won't be exactly right but I hope it is of some use. Cheers, Leon.
  19. You've got to be kidding. It's unbelievable that someone would do that to a person's car when the owner is right there - & not mean it in a malicious way. Or did he......? That sucks man. I hope it polishes out.
  20. Gotta be happy with that, hey. . And I mean both bits of news.
  21. Do you want the Japanese M35 version or an English G35 version? You should be able to download them both from m35stagea.info forum. Lay them side be side & it becomes a little clearer.
  22. Haha, I don't remember. But I'm not sunk, just some work to do to tune it. Anyway, nothings lost. All this stuff is just a bit of fun (challenge?) for me. Works / doesn't work - either way no big deal
  23. It certainly could be an issue. If it turns out to be "untunable", I will put the standard one back on. Other than an extra little hole in the airbox (which is easily patched) I made sure I didn't mod any other OEM part. And if it does turn out to be untunable, I might be tempted to ask "why didn't someone mention this before" lol. Mmmm, if I give it some more thought I might be able to block off the AFM hole & move the little housing thingy down the intake to a straighter bit. Anyway, I have about 200 voltage load points I can set (either up or down) so I reckon I have a fair to reasonble shot at getting it right. It could just take a whole lot of time....
  24. Impressive. That's different to my (short) experience so far. Mine only ran "ok" for the first drive on a cool night, with very minor AFM adjustments. Since then (in warmer daytime running) I've had to baby it whilst slowly making changes to the tune. Just haven't had enough time to get on top of it as yet.
