  1. But wouldn't changing the angle of the sidewall change how the tread sits and therefore the rolling diameter? Or is that a really dumb question?
  2. I've used the tyre calculators before to check rolling diameter, trouble is there is no allowance for wheel size and therefore potential stretch. That one did have the info on recommended size though which was useful, looks like I should be going for 255s. Any other thoughts or experiences are useful though!
  3. If you look for the thread called Stagea Wheel Dimensions there is heaps of info in there about wheel sizes, what guys are running, and how they fit. Also bear in mind that manual and auto stageas have a different rear track, from memory the auto is wider so the widths and offsets of what they can fit is different
  4. Thanks for all the info guys, I have contacted Tempe Tyres for a price, and the have given me the best price so far ($200 each delivered), BUT they have also said I should be looking at 255/35 or 265/35 instead of the 245/40 to go on the 9.5 inch rim. Which size would be the best way to go??? I contacted tirerack.com as well, and need to send them some more info to get the quote, so will do that this morning too.
  5. well I didn't want to pull out the big guns too early......
  6. I've emailed Taleb tyres and they quoted me $260 a tyre for the Yokohama's. They are getting me a quote on the Kuhmo's. That's exactly the size I'll be looking at, so it's good to know you've found them good.
  7. I'm trying to work out the best way to go with tyres for my stag. I'll be running them on an 18x9.5 rim, and my options are kuhmo ku31s, federal 595-ss, Yokohama Advan A-13 and Nitto NT05. I live in Tassie so need something which can handle a variety of conditions, and good grip in the wet is really important. Any thoughts or experiences you have had with any of these tyres would be awesome. Thanks Tim
  8. Hi Dale I am interested in these but unlikely to have the money before the 15th (waiting on the tax man). What would I be looking at for a full kit posted to Tassie 7250? Thanks Tim
  9. Just went and double checked the spec sheet, it's either 18x9 + 35, 18x9.5 +15 or 18x9.5 +38, there is no 18x9.5 +30 unfortunately. I want to try and avoid running spacers if at all possible.
  10. Hi guys, I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I'm looking to get some Enkei RPF1's in 18x9.5 +15 for my RS4S, which from what I have read in this topic should fit. But the guy I am looking at buying them through spoke to Enkei and was told that they had fitted them in a +30 offset, but wouldn't guarantee +15 would fit. I thought +30 would be too high? Any clarification would be awesome! Also, if anyone knows if these rims will fit Brembos or other big brakes underneath that would be great to know too. Thanks Tim
  11. cool, thanks Mark, I didn't think tyre places would be keen. Tom - i do like black wheels on white cars, but sometimes having the rpf1's in black makes them look a bit small. I'm thinking the SBC colour http://www.enkei.com/rpf1.html#
  12. Cool, I'll have to get in touch with them as well. Then try and find a tyre place who will fit and balance them despite me not buying anything from them..... Trying to decide which colour would be best if I go with the RPF1s
  13. I'm thinking Enkei RPF1s from Street to Track, then I just need to sort tyres. I'll still be keeping an eye out for the next little while, won't be making a decision until I get my tax back and have some money
  14. is 18x9.5 +15 likely to fit without too much drama?
  15. I was looking at the model below that one, the 5701, and a lot of the reviews I read talked about it being easy to hit the buttons accidentally in your pocket meaning you could accidentally unlock the car or even start it (they come with remote start) so I decided to steer away from it. I think the remote start also means they are not ADR compliant. If you search a bit on google you should find some reviews.
  16. I've had a look at the Rota wheels a few times (and just had another look then) but have never really found anything that really jumped out at me, and if there is something I like it's never in the right size. Maybe I'm just fussy.
  17. Have you got some pics of both sets?
  18. I've got 17's at the moment (stock rims) but I'm thinking I want to go a bit bigger. I think I'll stick with 18x9's if I can find something I like. The lenso's look good, but I want 6 or 7 spokes not 5. Go 18x9! If your carbon bit goes missing I'll blame Matt
  19. Thanks guys. I won't be looking at 20's. I was leaning towards 19's, but am now leaning back towards 18's. Offsets is something I am keeping an eye on. I still want to steal that front carbon bit off yours Tom
  20. I know a guy who would be able to make these for us once a decision is made if needed
  21. Hi all I'm looking to get some new wheels for my series 2 c34 once my tax comes back, but I can't decide whether to go for 18s or 19s. I like the look of 19s, but I remember reading somewhere that one of the members on here had found the ride too harsh so had switched back to 18s. Has anyone tried both and have any thoughts about which is the best way to go? I'm open to any and all ideas and suggestions. My suspension is stock at the moment but I'll probably get some BCs some time soon. Thanks Tim
  22. Just had another look and found a little bit of info, but still not a lot. Sounds like it's an older system? The quote I've got is $899 fitted, and the guy who would be fitting it is a mate who works at Autobarn as an installer and also drives a stag so knows his way around the car.
  23. Both alarms are being bought from authorised sellers and installers. Good to know about the remote start, sounds like I'll give that one a miss. The other Viper one listed on the stores info is the 460v, but I can't find anything online about that one?
  24. Hi all I'm trying to work out the best way to go in terms of alarms/immobilisers for my RS4S Stagea. Im looking at either the Viper 5701 or the Cyclops P775b, and am not sure which way to go. The Viper seems to have more features, but I've also read some reviews saying that the buttons are easily pressed in your pocket which can result in the car unlocking or starting (it has remote start) accidentally, and the batteries in the remote only last a couple of months. If anyone has any experience they can with either of these alarms that would be awesome, and any other thoughts are more than welcome! Thanks Tim
  25. I'm going to go with #2, I think it's simpler and cleaner so will work better
