  1. Hahaha... Number of times I've been saved by one of those extendable magnets when dropping stuff. Best tool for oafs. One I couldn't find on the shitbox, was a tps clip. Sprung off never to see again. In that case cable ties ftw.
  2. So what's this about not going to texi cause of needing a retune? Or you just want to watch soopertaxis?
  3. +1 shock treatment. Seen that used with good results as well.
  4. Its called extreme product testing Talk about never ending gearbox story.... I didn't even know you had a DD gearbox. Auto for drags, manual for track = WIN!
  5. oh well, chuck some of these in and see if you can blow em out once the car is up and running.
  6. I don't mind chucking some on my car for you. ATM its a turbo'd VQ35de. If you really want to give them hell, we can get a few M35 Stagea owners out there to try them- running upto 25psi, and higher under bonnet temps cause of the turbo too. VQ25det are the same coils afaik.
  7. ^^^^ these two guys are the first thing to check. After that- essentially its the same as the motor. You need to find a tranny shop with a scan tool (apparently there is a good one down there in MV autos or something, right?) That will tell you if a solenoid is cooked, and what to replace. There is simply too much going on in there for a home mechanic to change parts and hope for the best. The diagnostic will pin it. Hope it turns out OK.
  8. Nissan genuine. It's a good thing. Others have used the nylon fully synth with success.
  9. Battery healthy? Able to check by chucking another one in? I remember someone had an issue with the dash- car does funny things with a failing battery. Other things could be can bus ground wiring or something equally wierd.
  10. seems all good now. Works fine at home all today. safari and chrome.
  11. Caustic soda. Yes, don't get it on you. Yes be careful with it etc etc. Don't leave it on there more than 5 mins or so to check the results. Used it on VERY dirty Cat mining motors, with good results. May also use various acids, obviously in the right concentration.
  12. Yes it does. So to some extent you could actually replicate what the transgo shift kit is doing Physically, but tuning the ECU to do it electronically. I have done it to my car, however I also have the transgo shift kit. So I am unsure how good you could actually replicate the results of the shift kit in tuning the line pressures the ecu tells the gearbox ecu to run. However you also get the benifit of the tune. I don't know what the rwkw difference will be once you tune on a stock car, but you will get some benifit as well as losing the speed limiter, and setting the rev limiter to your desired limit. You may also chose to run upto 5 different ECU maps. What ecu have you been directed too? If its a piggyback, then run far far away. Chances are the person who is giving you advice has NFI about these cars. Uprev tuner is 700USD. Dyno tuning is on top of that- and I would charge more than 100-200 to do the job.
  13. I drove a Skyline.... just sayin 1978 Datsun stylz! Gone to the big scrap heap in the sky now.
  14. Lol - road rally with the old pick up truck! You can see in real time how he missed the sign post for the roundabout, from then it was passenger time. At least a new cars cheaper over there.
  15. Had the website black out thing since about a fortnight ago- but happens irregularly. Will monitor and give feedback. A few NSW people are getting the same thing- may just be a Mexican frustration tactic in preperation for Nats...
  16. Thanks Ash. Doesn't seem to be dependent on time / back up. Happens all the time. At work I haven't had the issue - IE8 But PC chrome and safari devices seem affected.
  17. Be aware - you might just be buying someone elses problem - why was it removed? With the fake Kms on these cars, nobody ever knows how much work its done. Maybe 30,000kms in Aust, and 150,000kms in Japan. How can you prove it...?
  18. Hi Admins, A few of us seem to be suffering a similar problem. When clicking on topics sometimes it will take a long time to load and come back with sever not found 502, or just stall in loading. Happens to me with PC chrome, and iPad2, iPhone Noted to happen on different internet connections. The Main forum page also suffers a black out occasionally, with everything going black, but a minimise and maximise will bring it back. Cheers, Alex.
  19. VK56.... and ride the wave of "f**k you, Bogan" in the supertaxis. Plus do reach arounds for Nismo V8 supercar parts....
  20. You rebuild the gearbox if it comes out, not just replace one or two components You also replace the clutch. This will save you service costs down the track- you'd be silly not to. Have to talk to a gearbox place and get a quote. nuffin like a new box.... ifyaknowwhatimean.
  21. Yes. Common problem is common. If you research a bit- it appears on 350zs commonly etc. Its the early boxes that flog out the synchros. Later model cars came with a CD009 box that had improved synchros. You can pick them up brand new in the US for $1700 plus shipping (which will obviously be a lot). Or you can rebuild it. I don't know if you can retro fit the better synchros into the older box. http://www.conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=2887&Car_Type=NIS350&UID=20121001182501121.210.8.129
  22. Generally if your actually planning to muck round with this thing, they are heavily restricted on the intake and exhaust side. They are also rev limited. That'll be where to look. Not internally. But it's a ride on...... I'd believe it, some of those have more technology than road cars these days!
  23. Yup, agree b and s are dirty arse suckers. But they have also been round a long time and make a successful product. Your k-pop lawn mower probably has the internals and lines to deal with ethanol. Would I run it? Nope. Plus, you gotta work out what your saving, when you can just get 91 a few cents more expensive. The service and carb clean n refresh will be significantly more expensive!
  24. Can just see it - ask Haltech if they have a plug in harness for a ride-on. Scotty can get you cheap 1000cc injectors, and your racing!
