  1. Thanks for clearing that up Terry. Makes more sense.
  2. Sure, but the level of modification and history of the car obviously varies, and with that the value. Depends on what kind of premium you want to pay- I never really understood the need to get the most insured value you can, because it just increases your premium. I understand being under insured insured is not good, however to pay more to the insurance company (for something that realistically to them carries very little risk) seems odd.
  3. You can go to Nissan and they can use FAST to see your ECU part number- if they are feeling nice on that given day. They are not suppose to give that info out. Alternatively, you can use EPC data and put your VIN in there. Navigate through the menus and you'll find the ECU part number. It will start with 23710-XXXXX I did the process for my car about a year and a half ago, and I'm in the process now for a Pathfinder.
  4. Just another massive cash grab by the federal government - like reducing the duty free cigs to 2 packets. Last time this was contemplated they worked out it would take more money to implement and collect the money than the revenue it would raise. Read the article, it's just the NSW Tresurer. That makes it 100% not going to happen, because when was the last time the states and Feds agreed on anything to do with gst.
  5. Anyone can tune a uprev car. Doesn't have to be a pro tuner. If you have a bit of knowledge, you could do it yourself. I tuned parts of my turbo conversion, but left the power runs to DVS Jez/ unigroup. The software is comparable to nistune and other tuner software but easier to use. Beats the shit out of emanage. Haven't used Hks yet.
  6. Tony, make sure you update your software regularly. You might get a little suprise as uprev keep cracking more and more parts of the ecu programming, and add it to the software. I got a nice suprise when I found out I now can determine the fan switching temp. If you have FCon, really there is no need for uprev, but IMO it provides good results for far less cost.
  7. +1 Oem is 7.5-30w, so is just a jump in the other direction to 10w. Not putting it in for a little while, but will post thoughts when I do. And if it's good enough to keep scottys motor together after all the abuse, should be fine in my lil tractor.
  8. Whatever is happening, its obviously dumping too much fuel into the system. So, check your plugs- is one black and the rest golden? Or are all equally black? As deep dish said- stuck injector could be the issue. Or it may be one of the temp sensors to the ECU has broken, and its sending coolant temp of -10 degrees or something to the ECU all the time, rather than the actual coolant temp. Is the battery nice and new, and charging? this can cause some funny electronic issues. My suggestion would be to take it to a mechanic that can log the ECU data, and look at it to determine the over fuelling fault.
  9. OR kind of makes a difference.
  10. Trip out to the Riff today ( I survived- phew ) Came back with this in the back of the Wagon- 6000 for the Stagea, and 3000 for the Nugget. Nugget won't know what hit it after doing 100k kms on Castrol Magnashit. Good prices- $4.47 and $6.83 a litre before GST. Better than $100 a bottle of that purple stuff.
  11. Nice times mate. Good improvement over the night. Car stock?

  13. Pull of the plastic panel around the battery, not just the top cover, but all the plastic around it. Behind there you'll find a rubber plug with part of the loom in it going through the firewall - slot it through there, and go under the kick guards all the way back. You'll be DOOF DOOF in no time.
  14. PM sent btw- this isn't a grand scheme to make money or anything. Its just my way of helping out the community, and the community saying thank you for that
  15. Lol- 25% more powahs in the Micra... better tell her not to rip skids. I dunno - maybe people like paying $100-$200 bucks at Nissan for the same thing (p.s. I'm not putting it up on the V series fourms...shhh)
  16. Thought I'd bump this up, since I havent been exactly flooded by requests lately. Diagnostic codes read, can log parameters, and give to you in excel format, works on most modern nissans, like v35, m35, r35, z33/34, pathfinder(lol!) micra etc. Can give +2 degrees timing for a handful of killawasps and bit better fuel consumption. Happy customers. Price has now changed from beer to a $15-20 bottle of wine, cause I'm trying to lose weight! Ps, give me a clean skin and I'll make sure you go away with -8 degrees timing, tight asses.
  17. Today I went for a front and rear alignment at heasmans in south Sydney. I've had work done by them before, and while they are not the cheapest, their work, and experience and the cars they work on are all top notch. No print outs, as it was done manually, but I had a little camber taken out of the rear, so it's now about 1.5 degrees, and rear toe in was reduced from 7mm to about 2mm. This has reduced the jumping round feeling I got from the rear under really short sharp bumps. Everything else was just about perfect. Thinking about heading back out the drags in the near future with awd to keep these pesky little 2.5s at bay...
  18. I thought the newer maximas were, but turns out I'm wrong. Ha, serves me right for listening to the brother in law who owns one. Well, they got rid of that quick smart. Guess it wouldn't have the issue if it didn't have egr.
  19. Yes, but it works well in the initial testing period, not when the car has upto 200k Kms on it. I wonder if the newer maximas and stuff with DDs have the same problem? It's not the throttle spring that's the issue, it's the very sensitive electric measuring thingy in there that doesn't like being moved too much. Good luck, and good on you for posting.
  20. Going to be the same console as a v35, isn't it cam? I am excite. Plenty of v35 wrecks about and the parts shouldn't be too sought after/expensive either. The foot brake will go, yeah, the master cyl will be the interesting one.
  21. Oh yeah, forgot about that. Wtf are you thinking? You have a boring 4 door work car? Why buy another? Get something you want to drive on the weekends. You will NEVER oversteer an evo
  22. Ah, not suggesting you go a PM box - too much headache. I'm for rwd manual all the way. Just want to show you the difference in shift decisiveness. New thread is good idea.
  23. Come for a spin in mine on the weekend. I'll show you what the difference is like with the gearbox
  24. should have seen me squinting at my computer trying to see epic skid moment. Total fail. Buy whatever makes you happy and pulls bishes.
  25. Driving it like a pussy doesn't count. Skid Vids or ban
