  1. no doubt has done a bit more than that. Where do you live? There are very skilled people who can help you out in Melb and Syd.
  2. Is anyone going to be posting Vids in here? Unfortunately I'm out of the country while its on, and after going last year, I'd really love to see some footage from this year. The website had live timing too I think last year, yeah?
  3. expect to be charged 150-250 bucks IF they will touch it. I could tell you if you lived in Sydney for the beer economy.... but alas you dont. I think the DD motors have electric servo assisted Cam angle variation. Rather than the hydralic unts in VQ35 motors. so not interchangeable. If it is actually working (varying cam angle), even if it clicks, leave it the fark alone. The units are not silent, if your wondering...
  4. question for oil - 5 litres- a full bottle. Go and buy oil filters for a 350z. Regarding VVCT. No it will not harm your car. However, it will throw a CEL, it will lose a large noticeable amount of mid range, right where you drive the car daily ( there is no cam timing in the top end of the RPM map, it just helps with peak torque lower down- from my experience with VQ35s I really have NFI about VQ30DD maps). Why don't you buy second hand from wreckers or Japan? Are you sure that it not working/broken? have you had error codes read?
  5. Love the water beading off Dales car and that awesome looking PNM35.... and poo brown interior is now history!
  6. bahahaha must the the mexican version of some of our parramatta road friends...
  7. Spotted lots again today- but a trio of F458s at different stages of the day - Yellow, Red, and Silver. Plus a Orange Aventador, New McLaren MP whatever, and a MB SLS.
  8. Keinbah - that really went to the middle of nowhere. looks like its been raised up too. Someone should bring it back to sydney
  9. Thanks for the epic pic dump over the weekend Terry- good to see some material that didn't make it to print is still up to a great standard. Plus, gives us a chance for other states to see how we roll in SYD
  10. What, Ski boat, or offroad buggy? cause you won't be fitting that in there!
  11. OK, sorry, voice of reason here. So you've found out that you can't drop the turbo motor in. So why are you doing a expensive conversion? Realistically, you'll want a turbo/performance car when your off you provisionals, so why are you wasting money on this?
  12. change your oil (and oil filter) to a very good quality (grpV) 10-40w do you know what oil is in it at the moment?
  13. I thought this was suppose to be an engine conversion as well? Weren't you doing all the talk about turbos?
  14. Very happy. For the price, there isn't much that can match it. And as a program, it is very good. You get all your diagnostics and logging, tuning together. One click of the button and throttle can be improved. However there is also a large table that will allow a tuner or someone competent to adjust the throttle response throughout the entire range. I haven't played with that at all, because I think that uprev got it right in the first place.
  15. The CELS are associated with the replacement of the downpipes with the cats in them, not the Y pipe. 2 cats per side. when you install high flow cats it can cause the sensor to read outside of required parameters. These CELs can be turned off using Uprev if desired. Basically it is a sensor that tells the ECU if the cats are working properly.
  16. There is not. I can recommend DVS Tuning on the central coast. He has used Uprev with my car. He is also a really nice guy and a business trader on this forum. PM "DVS JEZ" or 0414879711
  17. Morning SG update New Bentley sedan thing, New Rolls Royce sedan. Red F458 and F430 2 R35 GTRs. One driving from Bangkok to KL, and I guess on to SG. The other was this hideous thing. Spotted in the same spot as the video.
  18. Yeah, agree Marko. I saw another Orange Murcielago SV tonight. Plus there is a New McLaren MP412OMGBBQ parked outside a social club we go past every day. You can pretty much go hotel to hotel and see numerous supercars present! Even the 86 had a place at once recently- not exactly super.... Also in SG I believe businesses can claim cars as an expense to some extent- hence the big money cars. Sirrocos seem to be pretty popular here, but there is also a small JDM scene, incl hondas, R35 GTRs, Emos, Rexes etc. Big thing in modding cars seems to be Brakes, which surprised me quite a bit. Example today - a new model honda people mover with Rims as the only other visible mod - sporting big AP Racing brakes and floating discs. Other seemingly docile cars also have legit big brake kits - Endless, spoon, Brembo, AP, etc. The bad thing bout cars and Singapore is the COE (cert of entitlement) costs about $90,000 for 10 years. This is additional to rego - like a licence to own a car. Think small island, loads of people. they want most people on public trans. So even a cheap car costs over $100k to buy.
  19. Is yours AT or MT? Put 2 of your fattest mates in the back and take it down the quarter.... post results!
  20. 200rwkw 5AT - HKS turbo kit, 6psi, uprev. I've seen uprev tunes from US cars making over 300rwkw, with not a lot of difference to my tune, but with a bit more boost. What I've figured is that the yanks over exaggerate their figures. It all comes down to the dyno operator and what your paying them to do. Example- if you paid me $1000 to fit the new beut part to your car and tune it, you would like to see a increase in power yeah? dial up the dyno.... its that easy. Do you think a NA "200kw" car has the same power as my 200kw turbo'd VQ35?
  21. cosworth brings the minus powers in NA form. FI its the goods apparently. dont we all need dollars to make things "better"? lol. I was surprised how economical my conversion was to be honest. As with anything, if you do your research and shop around, do work yourself, and have good contacts - you'll get it done lots cheaper and without the BS that goes with just handing over a car and saying "Do X to it"
  22. Personal preference is one thing, but facts are another. Stiff does not equal good handling. There is much more too it that just cranking up your coilover damper rate.
  23. Thanks Matt for the shots, and Terry for posting! I've been meaning to get Matt to shoot my car since the meet. Just haven't got off my butt to do it!
