Euro specialist should be fine with it I guess. I'm far from an expert, but I gathered that most of the VAG cars use the same 2.0 diesel, maybe gearbox? Anyway, as long as it looks fairly clean down the guys of it, should be fine. I had a Lexus that skipped a service altogether, was fine, olds have a rover that was the same, still keeps on going, only with a appetite for suspension parts/bushes. Not that i'd recommend it at all, but its not the end of the world by a long shot.

Leon, that is pretty disapponting, knowing that you would have asked him about service history and when the thing was last serviced. You could obviously ask some appropriate questions of the Gent, and make your feelings felt. Get him to pay for the service at your nearest audi dealer

In other news... I'm a lazy fecker. Dales bar isn't on yet, so I had a look at where it goes in some pics. Now I haz a worry. I have a lot of (aftermarket) pipework through there, so I hope it fits. Be annoyed if it doesn't.

Spark plugs. Its old school I know, but was the first thing that came into my head. Can't remember which way around- need some of the old timers to tell us- but Plugs either with/without resistors create bad effects on radio signals. I believe its the "R" in the plugs name that designates it as a resistor plug. shoot me down if I'm wrong.

Sorry mate, can't go off that. Look round the back of the motor, and stamped in the firewall there will be the VIN. It will be PNM35-###### So I think your missing a number or something- shouldn't be a "b" at the end of the VIN

I do recall there is a menu to close down the screen, but I have no idea where it is. I think I have had a similar problem in the past. Privacy glass - got to wonder what your doing in the back of the wagon that needs to be so private?

Sometimes a pain, sometimes not was what I was getting at. I bled mine for a good 20 mins or so, using exactly that method you described Dale. Parked it up, the next couple of times the car was allowed to fully cool off, the bugger drank all the overflow tank. So, I cracked it again and worked on it some more, and its good now. Never gets hot - plus I have the fans set to 88

Yes, they are. You can nail it in one go, but sometimes it will take you a good few trys. Nothing overly hard about it- open heater core, use the rear bleed, but sometimes it is just easier than others

Lol. Yes, yes it is. Try failing to get the thermostat on correctly, filling it with coolant only to have it pour out all over the floor. Then pulling it all apart again to fix. Derp. Amateur hour. How did you go with the trimming?
