Yeah I remember that one, it was in a Mag, and saw a vid of it doing skids. Its was a VQ30det from memory. Different ECU setup from these VQ25det guys. Think it was out of a Gloria or something.

Rears are a better size. However, Your much better off with a set of square 350z 18 inch Track rims. They come up for sale fairly regularly, and are not that expensive. The V35 version has the same sizes, but a different design. 17s are just too small. Get at least some 18s and higher profile tyres to suit. These wheels are great if your on a budget. 18x8 +30 Ironpaw

Hi Mate, Great car- very excited for you to be building up that. I have to agree with the guys and say keep the L series. You can do a bit with it, and its more in the nature of the car than a RB. Grow to love Carbs! Again, if you are a big money player (we just are all speculating!) Then forget the S20. You want to turn over every rock in the world and find a OS Giken TC24-B1. Yes, they are big money. Yes they are very rare. Yes, they are porno to a PMC/Datsun/Nissan fan. -
A NZ bloke who seems to pop in occasionally is the closest to getting it done. "dcdc" is his user name. Last time he checked in he had a R34 getrag 6spd (I think, i know it was a GTR box) in the car, had to be a custom bellhousing. Combination of parts isn't that hard to work out- GTR box, V35 pedal box and clutch cylinder, Flywheel off something to suit, clutch plate. Then a load of head f**ks getting the ECU to take to something with different speed inputs / loads etc etc, as the ECU was never designed to work with a manual box- so its not a matter of switching auto/manual ECUs. He had to cut the floor plan too to fit in the T case. RWD would be no doubt simpler, but you'd still have to get around the electrics side of things- just use a V35 1/2 cut. Whatever option you choose, expect north of 5 or 6k for the RWD, and double that if going the AWD as my guess. Thats if you expect drive in drive out. If you are a fabricating God, then you'll already know where to start.

$200 us for the version that'll do nm35s. Plus shipping. Provided you have a Lappy to put the software on. The diagnostic facility is totally different to the tuning. The couple of screen shots I've used in other threads is from the tuning software which doesn't work with nm35 cars. Have I made it clear enough? Still haven't had anyone come for diagnostics!maybe I should put a price on, then people might like it more. Otherwise just keep paying $ at Nissan!

Will it do anything that Uprev Cipher won't do for $400 cheaper? Does it log?

I haven't been brave enough to try to download the map off a NM35 ECU. That ends you up with a heap of binary. It took me 3+ hrs with my car, and by the end, I had drained the battery, and the jumper pack battery I had connected to it as well- ign has to be on. I don't even know if you could download a NM35 Map. The company is unwilling to take it further, mainly because of the completly different ECU. However, if someone is really into writing code and deciphering what is needed- then I think this is the closest you'll get to something that works on nissans of all different types. Its way beyond me!

Let's not go too far Leon! It's just a bit of timing advance. Doesn't mean you can tune it, just adjust it a little. Hope we can learn from it all.I'd love to see you messing around with the coding of he software!

Some info I have got from testing- was a PM to Commsman, but might as well be public- no point hiding secrets. Just so happens we had a stock ECU ARX that we could test. How we did the test- simple stationary first gear idle to redline- no stall. All done @ WOT- difference in throttle pos. volts negligible. What I did to the timing- I Decreased it to a maximum -8 degrees, then logged, then Increased to a maximum +2 degrees and logged. Results: see the WORD Doc at the bottom! Sorry for the shitty table, but its all I can do in a hurry. I guess that answers you question. It looks like VQ25dets are set -1 degree timing from the service in J land- its the second one I've seen with the -1 figure. Interesting notes- Its using more fuel with the timing retarded. Max inj pluse is 18.2ms rather than 17.9ms Timing retard- MAF volts 4.88 vs advance 4.85- responsible for the fueling difference I think. Timing retarded should spool the turbo a little harder- hence the difference in MAF volts + fuel. There you go, some info to ponder. timing advance logs.docx

I really don't care. I think separate sections is not going to happen- from an admin point of view, this site is trying to downsize sections rather than expand last time I heard something mentioned about it. I always get excited when I see a "Series 2 or S2" post cause I think it might be a Series 2 M35, but most of the time it turns out to be a C34- I don't mind, I still read it. It all boils down to the members- if you guys want to see more C34 performance mods, then get posting them up! Nobody is going to say stop posting your mods up! On the other hand, if M35 owners are posting their mods up, then don't bother them about it- even if it is electronics. Whos fault is it that you don't see enough mods going on? We're not immune to the people that just jump in and create a thread about "hey I want to know what XYZ to buy" or "I want more power...". It happens across teh internets- so we just need to be nice, and tell them that they can search, and offer some advice. We don't want to look like a pack of arseholes- C34 or M35 owners.

Whaaat? Seriously!? That would make you brown the trousers big time. Abbey Motorsports prepped 350z Drag car- 6.633 @208- quickest Jap in Europe Skip to 2:50 to see it run.... I <3 VQ too!

Nice- I'm liking- The NA (I think) grille The strut brace- its a nismo right or Kansai? The cleanness of the engine bay! Green- you poms have something for greens Whats that do-dah on the steering wheel? To many Danger to manifold jokes to be had there... Whats the little plaque on the cam cover say? Don't worry about the performance claims- Dynos are all completely different- and ramps rates, gears, operators etc etc all end up to be too many variables. Take it to the track- practice (said it was the first time yeah?) and lay down some numbers. Then you'll know where you stand! At the end of the day- if it puts a smile on your face- then happy times. Good to have you here.

Meh... old argument is old. Hug it out.

Sad to see it on the market. Can say I have seen the owner caring for his car in person. As Scotty said- one already with all the fruit and for a bargain price. -
