  1. Its a good idea, if your able too. There are plenty of V35's wrecking around Australia. Should be able to get the motor at a reasonable price. Then the machine shop / motor builder gets to spend some time doing it right. Always a bonus. Plus it will save some pain as you can put on the manifolds/some other parts while the motor is out- much easier that way. The major pain I think is the manifold and the exhaust that crosses over the bellhousing.
  2. Looks pretty much the same from a google search. Go get a "z-tube" and a "powerduct" = power X 11ty Billion. Whatever you do don't get a pod filter. Not even if you are desperate for lady friends with heckic mods. Can make own powerduct too....
  3. AXIS = different Owner socio-economic group in Japan. Less likely to put kms on car I think.
  4. Generally means one bulb is out, or technically, there is not enough resistance in the system. Checked all the bulb, and/or installed LED lights anywhere? Thats about it from my experience.
  5. Linky to Pickles page Sorry Cam if its a bit raw... Edit- bish could have sent me a decent headlight
  6. Cause frankly, the car isn't exactly a ball of fire. Not in 350z/V35 and its even worse in a barge ass Wagon! You can bolt whatever you want onto it, and argue about 3 or 8kw gains, but at the end of the day FI is the easiest (and cheapest in a way) way of getting some real power/torque out of these motors. I want to do a track day or two to better my driving skills, but the car is a daily. Its not going to be track orientated, stripped or every be competitive in the scheme of things.
  7. That depends on a lot of things. I wouldn't blanket say it goes out the window. I'd say if you have a shit tune, and are running 10psi into a stock with either method, and attending track days/drags/industrial park skids(jk) regularly THEN I would say reliability goes out the window. Simple facts are, if you stick to a low boost level, drive sensibly, and pay close attention to servicing and cooling, then I don't think reliability is affected at all. Facts are that there are many FI cars rolling around with 30, 40, 50 thousand MILES (and even more in some cases) under their belts. Oh, and I did figure that OP is on P's too. Which makes both suggestions of S/C or upgrade to a 350 useless
  8. For the both of you - HKS Supercharger The site lists your models, however I have no idea if it would actually fit. Only seen them done on VQ35de (350z / V35) 180kw from NA and your engine your dreaming. Go and buy a 350. Much more parts support, and will do that figure with a manual tranny and bolt ons.
  9. Lol... yeah, didn't think you'd be long in NA land. Turbo ftw. My kit is still not in my car. Looks like a good project. Are you going to do the motor / turbo kit all at once, or put the kit on and run it with the stock internals for a while?
  10. I got a cheap kit. However I think the kit is worth every cent of what he's asking. You only have to start adding p prices for what is in the kit, and you'd soon see the point. Hks cats go for 1400 retail!u If got got a cheap kit, good on ya, but face it, these are worth a lot more than what we paid. You could ship it England and get 6k I reckon!
  11. Think I saw a r33 in a pole tonight in turramurra. About 1120pm.It was wet, but you did have a boat... Looked ok, driver was out and on the phone.
  12. Is the trouble with the motors that they hole pistons? I think I remember patrols doing that a while ago. Same motor? Have you thought about a delica? I think they just got compliance for the later model. Have a bit of a search, maybe ask ironchef
  13. I don't know the theory behind thermostats. Sure, a nismo one opens earlier, but how can that have any effect on the overall temp of the system when running hot? An open thermostat is an open thermostat. Sure, more coolant is better, but if it's not cooling in the radiator, then it's just a matter of time till you have twice as much coolant at a hot temp to cool down, which is twice as hard!
  14. Just to add my 2 cents, I think that the big core rads are a bit of a trick. I've heard that sometimes they are so big, and non restrictive that the coolant can pass right through them without being in them long enough to have a cooling effect. That is why the expensive big brands have a two, or even three pass system.Hence why you see cars with big rads still overheating.
  15. I would say the other TV one is something to do with the "autoDJ/compass link" system in the car. Thats What I have, and NFI what it does. See what the guys in the Japan section say...
  16. Spotted Eugene's ARX (JDM Performance) in Hornsby about 15mins ago. Looks like someone has some new boots! Looking good on Matte Black Axis rims with the gold Brembos
  17. Offset same as the V35 Coupe 18's, Leon. So would look like Dales car if you remember from the Cruise. Be good cause you could still fit some higher profile tyres to them, suit your driving environment
  18. Adding my congratulations. Hope you like it and treat her nice. Looking forward to see the mods.
  19. It'd be a bit more complicated than that. Taking a guess, when a RAWS did the evidence report into the NM35, they have to do the crash testing/emissions testing. Maybe the NM35 doesn't pass whatever emissions regs were introduced in 2004. Thus no cars are allowed to be complied in that year. Just a punt.
  20. High teens at a guess...? Don't really know. Really depends on the presentation of the car, and how quick you want to get rid of it.
  21. +1. As I understand it, emission laws changed between 2003/2004, thus 03 NM35s pass, 04's fail. Some other poor bloke when through all that hassle.
  22. Yeah, its stock, I haven't had it on the track. Yet... Really, its just a name/badge that nismo thing. You could get a small PWR auto tranny cooler, plumb that in and still be $70 ahead. Got no idea if running it too cold would effect it, but hey, its just a random thought.
  23. FYI, looks exactly the same from the pic to whats on the front of my car. Try to look for a V35 wrecking, and give them a few bucks for it- save your $160.
