  1. Well, I got the sump back on friday arvo. Got modified to clear the front diff, and the stock oil cooler piping. This is what it ended up looking like. The hole on the rhs is for the oil return. When I got it the wings were the same size on both sides. The screen door in the top of the sump seems to act like a baffle.
  2. Don't worry - take it to Oval track and race. Because NASCAR I have nothing constructive to add. Sounds weird.
  3. I want to get into Texi, but hopefully my car will be in pieces by then. So I'll have to miss out on this one. Desperately in need of someone with skill to show me how to drive trackdays/texi. Hopefully someone will oblige when the time is right
  4. Pics OR Vid of skids from Texi - or it didn't happen.
  5. My Tyres Wouldn't call em shit.... I paid for them, AND got the tyres I ordered
  6. Did the 350z have the TCU inside or outside the gearbox? I have a feeling mine shifts faster than you guys. I have even chirped 2nd.... don't know how. One thing I have noticed is that if you slow the car down going down the gears but don't come to a stop, and floor it back in 1st, it will shift harder, more pressure I guess. Anyone else noticed?
  7. Agree. Love the blue. Did you buy those Axis wheels that were for sale here a little while ago? Off a C34 weren't they?
  8. Just snapped a pic of it sitting the work car park- 2megapixel phone power FTL
  9. +1 for vid of Jaffa vs Black POS! Please!
  10. First of all have a look at the condition of them, they are behind the radiator, and there are 2 of em. If they look all cracked/hard and flogged out, they'll be pretty old. On the longer lengths of the belt give em a push down and see how far they deflect (ie move) If they feel soft to push down, then they are prob. loose. Good trick I learnt to tell noises apart, is grab a shortish bit of garden hose, and hold it next to the thing you want to hear, while you listen to the other end. It cancels some of the other noises out, and can pick up suspect bearings on tensioners and other bits. Warning- you might look like a bit of a retard You only drove it to 3500rpm...? Ummmm... go back and flog it. Trust me, they expect it. Just don't drive it like you stole it, or break any obvious laws. Noises will become apparent if you drive it harder. They sell evo's, so they are use to people driving faster cars. That being said- Northshore stand by their cars. Honestly, if you get someone like a workshop to look at it, they most likely won't have a clue what their looking at.
  11. New belts are about $50. nothing silly. Repco has em. Not a deal breaker is what I'm trying to say. If its bearings on components then you'd want to start thinking some more. But still, Northshore is widely regarded as being a cut above the rest.
  12. Look better on Iains I think, with some 10mm spacers. Hot.
  13. Yeah, no more.... Sold for $1000. Totally original, but so much rust it wasn't really a feasible resto. Had the original wheels, but my old man pinched them for something else, and left me with R30s I think? Spend pretty much every weekend fibre glassing some part of it! Was a 5 spd too.... Still got the Warranty/Service booklet!
  14. well, F me... they are - didn't even notice. Swore (obviously) that it was a hard top. Well, maybe there will be 2 - one that was on fire, and a not so on fire one!
  15. For the Nismo awesome club- Not really an ideal fitment, but better than stock. good if your std height. Cheap too! http://www.nissanusa.com/nismo/performance-parts-accessories/accessories/maxima-2004/4030S-RNA4010.jsp
  16. First car- Rockin the Line to school. $500 special. Was a Rusty POS.
  17. Changed the oil - was hoping not to have to do it before the turbo kit, but when it was dropped at the workshop I got all embarrassed and felt sorry for her It was so black- now its fresh. Also did the ancillary belts. Pretty painless really. They were starting to squeak and piss me off.
  18. It was this. And trust me, it wasn't the on fire car. That "on fire" car, wouldn't be in the place where I saw this car....
  19. Is that cause you might be pinching one...? Sump has been cut to clear all various extra bits and pieces. It's going to be welded up monday. I'll get photos when done. Lol Dale- its a build thread, not just a look at my POOOOWWWWWWWWERRRRRRRRRRR thread Plus, someone said we have to fix a big black pile of backfarting parts first before getting carried away... I'll get some photos of the kit up first. That'll shit Dale some more...
  20. Injectors just arrived this arvo. Complete with a flow test report. Sump is getting modified today- hopefully I'll get it tonight, pics to come.
  21. Hardtop- but love the pics of the fiery rag top!
  22. Spotted a black Koenigsegg CCX. In Sydney, but not on the road, location will remain nameless. Pure automotive porn- no other way to look at it. Love the attention to detail, dry sump system, exhaust etc.
  23. Thanks Mate, good efforts on making it from Bathusrt too! My plans for the box is basically the transgo kit, and a transcooler with Thermostat. On the Transgo site, it says that the kit for this box is designed with turbo/super charging in mind. So with those two things in the box, I'm hoping it will cope. From what I have read, its mostly about keeping the temp down, as to not fry the box. Generally I don't drive it like I stole it, so if it survives the tune (which I will tell them about the box, and to be mindful of it) I'm pretty sure it'll go fine on the road.
  24. Thanks guys. Somebody has to stand up for the NA guys out there.... Iamhe77 is right, the HKS kit on the stock boost they set the WG at looks to produce about 260kw on a 350Z. From all the searching around I have done, I think the stock bottom end is ok for 300kw when your running a Manual rwd G35/Z33/V35. Now I have to convert that power figure into something relative to my drive train- AWD/5AT. And we know that the Yanks are a bit dyno happy too... One from fitting the R32 Sumitomo Brakes- the stone shields are a bitch if you don't have the right tools... Stock dyno sheet- was done in 3rd gear, as 4th would be in the speed limiter.
