  1. Any reason you want a spare Harry? Dare I say, they aren't prone to failure to the same extent that VQ25det units are. They are completely different. All in all not a bad thing to have a spare if you plan to drive across Australia, but no one carries them round like people do the 25 ones...
  2. You can order a minimum of five, and still be cheaper than factory. Your looking at 330AUD each for genuine ones... They might not be of the same quality however. Up to you to take the choice.
  3. Yeah, if unlimited boost, afm maxed out, gone into rich and retard to try to save the motor. You'd want to do a precautionary comp test to make sure the motor hasn't been damaged. Glad you found it!
  4. Clarify the colour of the injector, and use EPCData to get yourself a part number, order through amayama. Or get some alibaba injectors, that could be fun too.

  6. Do you have a stock plumbed BOV or aftermarket to atmosphere?
  7. So you have pressure tested the intake system since the fault has occurred?
  8. Cause not many people know they exist, or know how to make one work....? Mine has certainly has never had an issue, and I haven't read of any others either. It certainly doesn't have the issues associated with pumps, hydraulic actuators, etc.
  9. They are variable. From my understanding they apportion a set percentage up to 30km/h, then drop into rwd until slip is detected. The snow button also locks a set percentage up to something like 60km/h along with throttle restrictions. It's a fairly seemless system. You don't really feel it working, it just grips.
  10. 15,000kms? I would be more than a little sceptical given proven tampering practices.
  11. The ENR34 GT Four manual has the same gearbox as R32/33 GTR models, which is the same as C34 AWD stageas. So it will take the same power as GTR owners are making. Someone with more experience will have to chime in, but they generally take anything up to high 300s low 400kws reliably. I dunno about the diffs, I think the GT-four has shorter ratios....?
  12. Urgh. The answer for most of these types of questions is that it's almost always cheaper to just buy a GTR. That's pretty serious conversion work when you factor in your going to have to upgrade hubs, brakes, suspension to make it somewhat safe. If your dead set on converting it, then get a drivetrain from a series 2 C34 stagea, or preferable a whole wreck. That will get you a RB25det neo, 5spd manual, the diffs, 5stud hubs etc.
  13. Nice Roy! I've enjoyed your journey in the 32 as well! Update time! I have been looking for a cheap busted motor for a while now, so I found one on gumtree. A bit unknown, but I took the gamble for the price. The kid said he strapped some adjustable cam gears to it, and made a bit of a mistake, and snapped some valves. So I took it home, and let it be while I went overseas for work. Got home, and I yanked the head off, to see a couple of broken valves, as described, and a couple of indents on another piston. The head had recently been rebuilt, and looks pretty decent. Couple of bits of damage, but should be fine. The bottom end had a stock rebuild, and the bores are great, still cross hatched. The piston has sodium burn from the broken valves in there, but the idea is to have a decent base to build off. Which I think this is. I'm not sure of plans yet, so it will be a slow slow build up. Not in a hurry since I have a perfectly working motor in the car at the moment! So I went to work on making a front tray for it. I didn't want a splitter since it would ruin the stock looking outside of the car, having a big thing sitting out the front! I got some spare alloy off a mate who was making stuff for a stagea, and adapted it. Took a little while to figure out how to retain jacking without taking it off, and what to hang it off and secure it, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome! Pics to come!
  14. I would start with anyone with a smoke machine/intake pressure tester, and a obd2 reader. AFM/MAF cleaner.... There is a product. Brake cleaner is too harsh and can leave a residue. Also, you can't resolder a vq35 afm. It's a little different to a RB.
  15. Line off the plenum, intake leak basically, unmetered air entering into the motor.
  16. Narp. Don't poop filter it. The stock airbox and a paper element is good for 350+kW. A non resonated intake pipe (referred to as a "Z tube" usually) and some form of 5/16 plenum spacer or kinetix plenum top will get a mild performance gain and your intake noise you are after
  17. Doesn't look like a dereg Certs, but an export cert, simply posting the details I'd the car as it was shipped. A dereg will state two different dates and the recorded mileage at the points. Why not use one of the jap history check companies to find the auction papers and Certs, it's a small price to pay for the investment of a car.
  18. Who liked their stagea "well done".... I guess you'd call this an unsuccessful LPG conversion. http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged-salvage/item/-/details/C2002--Nissan--Stagea--Wagon/252396920
  19. Looks like same as vq35, so there are aftermarket options available out of the US.
  20. Yeah, it's tough, but do-able. However, I shouldn't have to tell you it's the upkeep and the little things that add up as costs! The best thing you can do is grab a cheap S Chassis, and just add a few bits and pieces to go have fun with! They are so light, and parts are so obtainable.
  21. Hahaha, yeah it will, but not when I've got a trackday booked in the future. If the motor or tranny pops, I want the time to sort it out. Unfortunately I'm OS for this.
  22. Nice work Josh. Just a bit of a correction, they bumped up the cost to $55 bucks for competitors. Just go to WSID website for all the info, and a guide if you've never done it before. You need a suitable helmet, ankle to wrist clothing. No special licence is needed. And the most important thing, just have a go. I've seen everything go down, from a 90cc farm bike, hiluxs, to 8 second GTRs and faster things too. Just get out and have a go! The cost is minimal to what you'd get done for on the road if you got booked at 160!
