  1. External transmission cooler would be a good idea for the pending dyno time. $100 for a kit from repco does the jerb.
  2. I got them from a friend who uses them on a Group A car, that I work on pro bono. I got the old stuff at the back of the shed. 24/64/17 S8D. Unfortunately retail is around $500ea new. Best to figure out what size you want, and then try to figure out who would use them. I'll give you a hint, V8 supercar tyres work quite well on GTRs if you can get your hands on some...

  4. Bit of an update, I was at trackschool yesterday at Wakefield. Did everything as per normal, except had some banana bread instead of a ham cheese sammich at the bakery! I took three travelcalm tablets when I arrived at the track. Within about 15 mins I was having a massive headspin! Too much caffeine I think. Coffee at home, coffee at the bakery, and then the caffeine in the tablets. By the time I headed out on the track I was feeling mostly fine. Track was wet so I just did some installation laps. Came back in, swapped the wheels for the slicks, and never looked back all day. Never felt sick at all. Did 7 sessions I think, setting a PB. So that's a win. Adjust coffee intake in the morning to suit, and I think it will work well.
  5. Just came back from a trackday on slicks..... Michelins. Never going back to semis (unless for regulation) So progressive. But so so hard to get temp into on a cold day at Wakefield. A solid three laps before they were round a decent temp.
  6. Exactly that, they were built by ralliart employees separate from the line of normal engines. Sure you can rebuild them just like any other motor, but where do you get bits or knowledge when only 500 units were made!?
  7. Interesting choice with the magna. I don't mind them, and think they are pretty cool, except the motors were hand built by technicians. So when it needs a rebuild, what happens...?
  8. Good to see this thread still getting along. I'm off to the track tomorrow, putting some stuff in another (very kind) stagea owners boot, to get down to Wakefield.
  9. Spotted RXCOUP yesterday arvo round the pennant hills area.
  10. What's the point? Are you trying to tune, or get a replacement ecu? Even within models there are many multiples of ECU part numbers, there are awd models, auto, manuals, etc. I don't see a lot of compatibility happening. The computers are physically the same for the vq35 models, and any model of that can have the program ripped, and sent to Uprev to decode and provide a tuneable file.
  11. Spotted another ADM today, again, red metallic. Stock height and stock rims, might have been the same one I spotted a while back. Was parked on the side of the road near the SAN hospital, wahroonga. Looks like it's someone's grocery getter/school run car! I understand what you ADMers go through now, every one I see I'm looking for the ADM features!
  12. Spotted a black c34 on Amistad or similar big dishy VIP 5 spoke rims, up in Hornsby heights.
  13. It's the same kit, it just comes with a different set of valves /springs to suit the later model box. I've had mine done
  14. The sender itself gets a bit of crud and glazes up, so the copper connections aren't so flash. Go get yourself a new filter, cause your going to in there anyway, might as well do it, and clean the contacts off. Make sure it has 1/2 tank or less, otherwise if it is full, it will pour out when you open it.
  15. Nice one Chris, good launch. 1.8 60 foot is pretty good considering these cars weight. I've lined up against a STI too, took off like a jackrabbit, but by 1/2 track I over ran him. They seem to run out of puff. Goal is not far away. If you had Craig's 3.5:1 diffs.....
  16. I think many of the answers here would be ???,???kms. It's been endemic in the industry for a long time.
  17. NZ has access to much cheaper cars than Aust. That's the fact of life. We are stuck with paying 50-100% more over here. That's just the market. Different compliance system. As I understand it can cost a importer $50,000+ to do the evidence package for a new model. They have to make that back up.
  18. 350gt with either your preference of 5at /6mt would be best. The CVT is hideously expensive to fix and service, and while there are a few cases of reliable operation, there are 3 times as many horror stories. They aren't a normal cvt, and there was never another box made like it.... Tells you something... The DD motors (25/30)have the direct injection, and EGR. Which isn't a crash hot system. They can be sorted, but the vq35 is just such a good basic unit. Servicing is pretty straight fwd, and you'll find it cheaper than a GTR.
  19. Nope, Matt has a awd axis.
  20. Power drill with a 10mm socket. 30 second job to take the undertray off.
  21. We don't get the 2.5/3.0 NA cars in Australia, they don't meet the power requirements for importation. It's a bit of a trap really, because you'll have to work a 2.5 car much harder to get up a hill than a 3.5. Therefore you'll find some fuel consumption benefits are taken away. A M35 is one of the simplest cars ever to do an oil and filter change. Every numpty with simple tools will be able to complete it.
  22. Nice pick up mate, glad to see some more series 2 cars popping up!
  23. 'Merica. Anything goes wrong in your life, sue the bish.
  24. Nice man, rwd or awd?Colour, specs, any pics?
