  1. Yeah, there was one at retro speed fest that has been getting round lots lately! Sounds pretty quiet, but damn awesome!
  2. Well, yeah, you can. They just need to exit the car in a traditional means, ie, next to the main exhaust. For example the Porsche racers of the 70s.
  3. Bit of both. The transmission part (stall converter, clutches etc) of the box is the same physically, afaik, but the trans computer they actually moved inside the transmission. And it's reprogrammed so it doesn't do those lovely series one features.
  4. Lol. You think I bought one without driving turbo models as well...? They are a much nicer car to drive IMO. Sure they don't have the torque of the turbo, or the ability to produce lots of power when modified. But, there is instant strong response, the gearbox is completely reprogrammed, the awd system improved too
  5. Still as fast as a stock nm35.
  6. Unless you drive a series two, in which it's whatever gear you're in at the time...
  7. Just make yourself aware of what stuff they are going to use and do. Trade brake pads are pretty shit. Do some research and see if you can get some decent ones, they will greatly increase your faith in the stopping of the car. I guarantee they won't change the internal cabin filter, not the fuel filter, as it's in the tank. If you want it done, specifically ask. Plugs are platinum or iridium or something, they aren't cheap. Auto trans fluid MUST be matic J or the other one people use is the nulon 100% synth that is matic j compatible. Will they do the front and rear Diffs and the transfer case as well? Trust me, there is a LOT of serviceable fluids to do on this car! Looks greta btw, black car! Hard to keep clean and swirl free!!!
  8. Expect 9-10litres/100 on the freeway, and up to 15/100 round town doing short trips. First upgrade is to do all the fluids/filters in the car to set yourself a base line service schedule. Unless of course you have the cars exact service history, which pretty much no one gets. Ask the compliance joint what they serviced. Set of plugs wouldn't go a miss either. A good set of brake pads. It's a heavy car with comparatively small brakes. And clean out the plenum and PCV oil re circulation section in the intake manifold. It collects some rubbish over time. That'll keep you busy for a good few weekends and the wallet empty for a while.
  9. You shall be forced to mount the toddler tricycle for the first round of bicycle jousting. Mmm K?
  10. Carry a broom stick to push said button? Then you can bash arsehole drivers who try to clip you, and also have a jousting session when you get to two lane bike paths!
  11. "Several states have similar "Dead Red" laws, which lets cyclists (and motorcyclists) ride through a red light if there's no traffic, if the cyclists have stopped for set periods of time, and if the light isn't changing because its sensor doesn't register bikes." Yes, I can see that, after stopping for a set amount of time, the cyclist can proceed through the intersection. They might also be able to use that magical button on the side of most traffic lights that turns them red to allow people to cross... Anyway, thanks, when did I ever say I chuck plugs at cyclists....? I thought my posts were pretty neutral....
  12. Yeah, apparently cars are exempt from the laws of physics. Spot that line in there? Frankly, I didn't think it was a very well written article, and it didn't sway my opinion that it is safer to have enforced stop and red lights. If governments were serious about reducing carbon emissions, they wouldn't be installing traffic calming devices, red lights etc etc all the time. Imagine the carbon footprint of a new set of traffic lights over its lifetime?! But that's ok, cause the government gets the cash from the fuel excise....
  13. Yes. Same thing. Also the same as early model 350z "touring" spec cars.
  14. The Monday, queens birthday I think.
  15. How is your crank bearing....?
  16. Ooooo, this falls on a RDO for me... If I don't kill the car on my late May trackday, I'll should be in for this!
  17. I think both sides (talking globally here; not talking about people in this thread) have an arrogance that pisses each other off. Cyclists that flaunt themselves on the road, taking liberties just to piss people off, and motorists that think the world revolves around them (ahem mums on the school run....) and nothing should ever get in their way. Sounds to me like Daleo is a good example of a responsible cyclist, he isn't going to be the one taking up a whole lane on a single lane road, he'll wave you past when it's safe to do so. In turn, and in respect of that, I'd pass him giving him as much room as I safely can. That's all that needs to happen.
  18. Yup, but common for them to be re-drilled/tapped to t3.
  19. Hks made a cast low mount if you like spending money. There is one for sale atm in the for sale section. Do I get a finders fee or something...?
  20. One thing I've noticed in Europe is the use of abandoned rail corridors for bike ways. I think that idea has merit. They are of gradual gradient, decent size and usually tie together points of interest. Disused corridors, or even potentially used ones could provide safe rapid cycle transportation for suburbs. Take a small two lane section of corridor, fence it off to the live railways, and pave it. Instant awesome bike lanes.
  21. Used these two bleed screws, or what has the FFP done to their locations? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/421184-rb25-neo-bleed-valve-for-cooling-system/
  22. Isn't there a small nut to crack or something on the Oem manifold system to clear air when bleeding the car? I'm far from the RB expert, but I think someone mentioned it, worth a search anyway. Did your manifold delete this?
  23. Just for some clarification, the later 3.5 models don't use the same ECU. It's completely different, and able to be flash tuned/tuned IRT with existing software.
  24. Would cyclists pay a fee (licence/rego/toll/whatever) to see such separated roadways built? Cause I can tell you now, they are going to be rolled out by the government in any Great number. It's financially prohibitive. Fine, talk about European towns all you want, and how good they are, but reality is the environment is very different here as far as people per square km, thus reducing the ability to provide such services. That's why roads are so hard to maintain here. The metres of road per person is massive. So, would cyclists pay to see this infrastructure built?
