  1. No. Luddenham is a hire cart only facility at this stage, afaik.
  2. Yep, in Will be bringing bags of parity cement for you skinny kids...
  3. 80% correct. The 350S was actually based off a Series one car, not a PM35. Yes, I guess doing a PM35 would be the easiest car of the range to manualise. Don't know how easy until you compare everything, but look for a manual 1/2 cut of a series 2 V35. You'll need the extra pedal and all that stuff, the interior pieces too. Sell the motor off. Post build thread!
  4. Damn wish I could have state round a bit longer, but a great tech day was had for sure. Terry and Trish are stacked full of great unbiased info based on what is seen, not what he's trying to sell. Great lunch, fantastic turn out of members cars.
  5. Sounds good. I can't even read straight after today. Didn't even see that post. I'll wait for Nick T to figure our if he will have a miraculous recovery.
  6. Can I be in as reserve, surely someone will pull out tomorrow morning. Plans changed....
  7. Going to have to say, the external gate story is pretty far fetched. Group A Gibson GTRs didn't use external gates, neither did the HR31 or DR30s. In fact an external gate would have been blatantly illegal in group A rules. In fact the only one that comes to mind that I know did were the GrpC bluebirds. Dunno about Exa, never got a real good look at it. "Tamper" wire is just tie wire, to prevent bolts coming undone, it serves no regulatory purpose. Now, remember that Nissan also ran many prototype style turbo cars with external gates, and provided engines for many more chassis. No doubt a cool piece, but the story doesn't add up.
  8. When you get another manifold, why don't you get the surface machined flat, and make sure your mechanic is following both the torque and the sequence of doing up the nuts. The only other thing I can think of is check your base timing to make sure it's not overly retarded and producing excess exhaust temp.
  9. Because you get to a point where you split the block in 1/2 horizontally. Was at Sydney dragway when Maatouks VL did it. Quite a sight. Is it for everyone, no. But right at the top end of the scale, there must be a need.
  10. I suspect someone might have mixed up the M35 Infiniti (sedan sold in the US) which did get a HR motor. It's quite easy to tell a HR, different engine cover and twin intake/throttle bodies.
  11. Easy, they never put the HR in a stagea. It was always the base model VQ35de from mid 04 till production end. I dunno about any changes in the 2.5 motor, cause we can't get them here anyways.
  12. Lol complaining about a GTR! Try a s13!!!
  13. I knew where this was heading after seeing a sneak peak Man, what a transformation from one of the Fluro wheel club to Welds! Can't wait for vids and to see this thing get down the strip.
  14. Woah, yeah, slow 60ft. Get that awd sorted and launch it off the line and it will give a very respectful time.
  15. I believe they are located inside the plenum, in the tops of the runners. They block off one runner on each cyl for a span of rpms. My guess, and it just a guess, is that the massive buildup of crap in the inlet plenum has jammed or damaged the control mechanism. Take it apart, clean it, and reset the code. See what happens. I don't know how they are activated, someone with a DD should chim in. Electronic, or vacuum?
  16. Great meet today guys! Thanks for organising Raj, fantastic effort and cruise. Everyone well behaved. So glad I could make it to a social event, it's been too long with family and work stuff.
  17. For $60 you can go to WSID on a Wednesday night, and drag your car legally as fast as you can go. They even give you a bit of paper that says how fast you went so there is no bullshit guesstimates of 1/4 miles. Paul, grab a helmet, and go. Post results. Any street racing is very, very frowned upon on this forum, and frankly idiotic when there are such easy, legal, ways to enjoy your car.
  18. Location?
  19. You can have 50 speeds if you can find someone that knows how to reprogram it... But in reality, you are just sitting on a time bomb. Especially if you are going to take the car to the track. Have a read of this, educate yourself, and see how this gearbox differs from every other belt/chain CVTs http://www.carbibles.com/transmission_bible_pg3.html
  20. Bloody hell Old mate is cracking on with things! A GTX3071 would be a lot more responsive, and land you in the mid to high 300s on e85. Just a thought on the other side of the 400kw barrier.
