  1. Its what all the cool kids are doin..... if you can give it 5-10% more oil without having drag issues, why not? Won't help you but - Mr 136 degree oil.
  2. +1 So even if he starts on pole, position once he comes out of T1 will be......?
  3. I check because my oil comes in 20 litre drums But yeah- 5liters, and slightly over full, like Dale said, is fine too. Good for the track.
  4. Snow mode is just a button that activates some different values in the ECU map. This can be used for low traction situations, to help the car proceed safely. It can be any of the following- reduce throttle sensitivity/response, gearbox locked into starting in a higher gear (2nd), and/or constant torque split in regards to AWD cars. It is largely useless unless you are stuck in mud/sand or at the snow. This has been covered several times now by new owners. The Fourm has a search function that is useful for this kind of stuff.
  5. The only thing getting rammed into me was furniture. Snorz ftw.
  6. omg Benji your pretty much living in F&F Tokyo Drift......
  7. Oh, thanks for the Spot dude, I was down there.
  8. Just take a rear off, put it on the front, and put the space saver on the rear.
  9. So what was the go? I heard that they got excluded because of ignition timing irregularity. Did they reduce timing to get better drive in the wet? Or was it something else?
  10. 1500+ cars. Don't leave first, don't leave last, and you'll be fine I reckon. Most importantly, don't leave like a dickhead.
  11. Well, there are some of us that drive 10 times that distance a week. And we care a bit more about the cost of it!Mine goes with the Mrs for the short trip to work, I drive the shopping cart. For the record- PM35s use just about the same as NM35s around town and on the highway. Got 700kms to 72 litres on a trip to Melb two up, with a load of gear, AC on, 110-115km/h. Round town, its about 550kms to a tank.
  12. Could just look it up on Natsoft For the sunday races fastest lap times TEKNO Team VIP Shane Van Gisbergen Holden Commodore VF 5000 12 24:49.7835 9 1:57.3781* Wilson Security Karl Reindler (WA) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 3800 P 8 16:17.1421 6 1:59.4744*
  13. Lol. Its not a Kingswood! Its pretty easy to find where your losing the oil. Your either leaking it or burning it. Make sure your oil measurements are "scientific" (ie repeatable). That means, car dead cold on a flat surface. VQs do have a bit of blow by, and this can lead to oil getting pushed through the PCV and burned. An inspection of the internal of the plenum will tell you how bad it has been. I have seen bad, and have seen almost brand new as well. Other typical VQ traits are the spark plug tube seals leaking, rocker cover gaskets leaking oil, and a weap out the sump plug if the washer isn't fresh.
  14. Drove 4000kms in the last 10 days. Not Spotted. Not even once. Which leads me to one conclusion: Stealth car
  15. Or checked for leaks? I know the pesky sump plug washer on mine needs replacing regularly to prevent it dripping, and losing measureable amounts of oil.
  16. 60% was the figure I heard. But one of the teams also said that the Aus GP wasn't a good representative of the tracks they have to deal with for the rest of the year. Closest I got to fame was walking in to the Park one day with Monisha Kaltenborn, team principal for Sauber. (Yes I had to google that name!) Oh, and I thought I saw Takuma Sato in a Ferrari on Thursday. Who did everyone bump into over the weekend?
  17. I might be entirely wrong as well, but weren't USDM motors assembled in Mexico, as opposed to Japan for our imports?
  18. QFT Even the Volvo specific system which is touted as the safest in the world IIRC doesnt meet our backwards stds.
  19. Love the Kimi Win. Car looked like it had the wick turned up for the last 15 laps. Must have been good on tyres. The rest (besides the force india) didn't have the fuel I think to turn it up. Picked Riccis exhaust issue 3 laps before he retired - sounded very off. Although Melb isn't a good representative of the rest of the season, the varitey was refreshing. Lotus, Ferrari, RB
  20. Updated schedule: http://grandprix.com.au/news/update
  21. Section D Jones today. Still raining out there.
  22. Sydney has nothing on Victoria. We have to make sure it doesn't end up like our Mexican neighbours. Driving down the freeway- these are my notes/differernces -Fixed speed cameras have nil signage warning of their location -Police actively hide, including behind bridges, and within bushes in the median strip making it impossible to see them. - Unmarked random cars parked on the side of the highway contain speed cameras. - Cameras on the back of bridges And lets not forget the polices shoot and ask questions later policy.
  23. I was going to recommend tensport, but I think its for Aus only. Don't think it works o/s.
  24. Drivers parades I hope. I don't like them, dare say Drivers dont like them. Guest laps should be gone. Hopefully the CanAms get a run.
  25. yup, that was me too. They stacked before me, they stacked after me. but Corner 9 was pretty quiet through all the categories.
