  1. Postponed. rest of quali 1100hrs on race day. Will make for a very busy day for the teams.
  2. 1650kgs I think I recall, on my sticker. RMS, Dale, RMS..... because in government land changing names fixes all problems ever associated with the the old organisation...
  3. Check the weights vs money for rego. you may find you are paying a higher rego rate for no reason. I have no idea about how you go about changing it if you can make savings.
  4. Wet! Bailed after Q1- good decision. I saw Envy Ute skids at T9/10 today
  5. I saw the Rally cars on Thusday - that black R34 sounded great up the main straight! I wanted to have a look, but couldn't find them. Where are they in the paddock?
  6. quiet thread is quiet. Couple of good races today, looks like some of the nissans are set up really soft in the front end- searching for fnt end grip maybe? What happened to the Merc? Did it pop an engine today? I saw lots of smoke on the screen, I did wonder if he over rev'd it coming into T1, because it did sound tough right before the smoke poured out.
  7. just sayin, I win in this thread....
  8. Barbham in the sun was nice. With a few coldies. Simon, ear plugs are free at the the info booths along with sunscreen and maps and shit. Car wise, caterham looks like a dog, mclaren are geared different and were using a lower gear from t1. Ferrari seem to run some funny gearbox stuff, because downshifts were very different to other cars. Cheered to see homo in the wall!
  9. Was there yesterday. No monster action going on. 5 mins walk from gate 9 for us. I'm in Bradman today. Ear plugs a must, even for the can am cars.
  10. I think there is a change coming through which means possible showers all over the weekend. After what, 8 days or something over 30 degrees?
  11. But how many could do 1000 racing Kms around bathurst? The engineering on Gibsons cars was amazing. It may be old now, but doesnt make it bad. Group a also gave some creative interpretation of rules, which was interesting, and something you don't get in the current series, for better or worse. You can still see the grp a cars, and get closer than you ever would have been able to for the fans. Go to http://www.heritagetouringcars.com.au/ On topic, I really looking forward to seeing the v8s this weekend. Hopefully the new marques can improve, and the Mercs have a more consistent meet.
  12. Stretch for handling.....? Lol.
  13. They dry, and go hard. That reduces the grip they can provide. You see really old tyres cracking. A lot of the time these cheapie special shops sell very old stock. Well worth asking the date of manufacture as Terry said. When I bought off tire rack, tires were 3 months old. Very impressed.
  14. Lol. Tempe. I wouldn't let them touch my bicycle.
  15. The 180 was originally tuned by Unigroup (and has their Cams in it), and produced a similar power figure. I did have a chat to Jez about the old tractor sounds
  16. Unfortunately not to the one on the 30th. Too much to do in the mean time, and working easter anyway. Plus I have to sort the plumb back gate
  17. mid 3k it comes alive, and you hold on! lol. Love the little S chassis.
  18. It was on the car when I bought it. I wouldn't change it anyway. I bought it to be a track car, so response isn't as critical as having a street driven / daily drive car. But still, it feels responsive enough to be good fun. Probably the reason it doesn't go over in the top end. Sure - Drop me a PM, I want to run this down WSID to see how it goes.
  19. Its defiantly moving well before 5000rpm. 0.83 btw. Taken your out to the Creek yet Scott? I'm keen at some stage.
  20. IAT? Come on mate, this isn't powertunez! At his power level, there is very little point pushing further. Drag car - yes, street car - yes, "powercruise" and the like - yes Track car - no. We have to sort the traction out first before adding power. Fast cars need handling more than they need more power. And its plenty enough for me at the moment. Good thing is, the GTX is just getting into its stride at 18psi. 26/28 pound is a real possibility. So its in reserve. E85- I do like the idea, but its extra hassle and convince of pump is nice.
  21. tirerack is great for getting those odd sizes, or really good UHP tyres at decent prices. Still ends up cheaper. But for common sizes, its just not worth it.
  22. You know they are totally different in physical appearance. No idea if they have the same flow properties. Risk an engine for it?
  23. S14 SR20det Stock bottom end GTX3071r 6Boost, Tial 44mm Ext gate. Unigroup Cams 98 pump.
  24. So, had the lil nugget on the Dyno up at DVS JEZ tuning today to check the tune out, and make sure everything was nice and safe. Also to see what powerz we make. So quick recap - S14 SR20det, GTX3071 6Boost mani, tial 44mm ext gate. 98 pump gas dyno vid: http://www.flickr.com/photos/67036277@N07/8529131921/ [/url]
