Exactly. I'm not saying the buyer should just drive it without it being engineered/approve/modplated. But your car is pretty much all normal for QLD so just sell it to him and direct him where to go to get it all sorted. But if you are the one that has to get it all sorted. Certainly shop around or even find a friend on here cause there's definitely a chance of being un-necessarily shafted by some workshop.

Should save up for an electronic boost controller. Boost Ts will eventually f**k out but before that happens they have the potential to boost spike and overboost your engine AFAIK.

Just Get QLD rego, send him to an engineer and get a mod plate. Why all the fuss? Technically you dont need a modplate until you get pinged by a cop anyway.

Dont worry about it if you're just passing through. My problem is that i visit NSW regularly. And as a general rule they dont pay too much attention QLD cars.

Yeah pretty sure it wont be but i had to get it cleared down here as i travel to NSW usually once a week.

Well do they want it registered or legally registered? Pretty easy to get a dodgy roadworthy in QLD and then you just sign the forms and pay the fees. The smart route is to get everything engineered and modplated, which is quite easy and handy compared to VIC. So long as its mod plated and engineered, cops are happy.

Cop ticked the wrong box. Meaning the defect said to get a pink slip. So i did. Cleared lol.

I am also inb4 the mafia lol. I dont have a stock BOV but i have a front facing plenum so there goes the stock look idea anyway. Atmo f**ks with your AFM. of course it can affect it. None of the settings save like timing or injectors. If its not wired in properly apparently it wont save on power off which would be the case here. As far as i can tell, there is no "atmo suited tune" when dealing with AFMs anyway.

Hey guys so i got pulled over yesterday morning and defected for intercooler and pod filter. Cop said my pod was straight up illegal and i think the intercooler part was the fact i have a big hole next to my washer bottle for my I/c piping to go through from my front facing plenum. So he wrote me a defect that has to be cleared at an authorised inspection station. lol wtf. This stuff is legal in QLD. Going to get it cleared this week but just wondering about the pod filter sitaution O_o As soon as i knew i was being pulled over, hid my PFC controller and played the innocent polite person that i really am (but to the max lol). No fine,no points lost and he didnt defect me for everything else i potentially could have been done for. like too low,possibly too loud,atmo bov,front facing plenum?,EMS,coilovers,boost controller and whatever else... lol also do i legally have to get this defect cleared when i have a qld license and qld registration? what could happen if i dont get it cleared? cheers guys.

Hey guys my new car(1993 4 door R33 GTS25T/M) came with a pfc that was tuned prior to the previous owner installing a front facing plenum. When i bought the car there was a random stall whenever the car felt like it. usually on idle due to not driving it because when i bought it, it needed all new fluids and filters and the likes. At first when we took it out a few weeks back, if we hit boost it felt like the front of the car had been hit with a sledge hammer. Did some research and replaced both relays in the kick panel and 1 relay in the boot to sort out an obvious fuel pump problem. Upon doing this it was boosting fine, but still not much use as it wasnt registered yet. Now it is registered and randomly while driving the car will just cease to make power with throttle open, so i obviously take my foot off instantly and the revs will either drop and stall or drop,recover then drop and stall. If i try and start the car again after its stalled, it will not hold idle and just stall again but if i turn everything off and then on again it will start normal and idle normal.Switched fuel pumps with the spare pump from my old 4 door which certainly made some difference in how it sounded and much less shenanigans going on. but alas it is still happening. I am driving around completely off boost as the knock readings are not handy if boosted. Tune is almost certain for Saturday(will find out for sure on tuesday). Settings in the PFC cannot be saved as once i turn it off any changes are lost, so i will be getting the wiring checked out during the week as per Paulr33s diagram and advice (cheers mate ) Timing is spot on,02 sensor is good,brand new fuel filter,brand new air filter,Stock injectors Reco'd and flow tested,fuel pump replaced,relays replaced,AFM cleaned,Splitfire coilpacks and new plugs. Car has a HKS SSQV atmo BOV of which i noticed an extra high pulse of knock when it vents. Plugged up the vacuum line and am seeing much less knock within vaccuum and moreso stable knock if i hit any positive charge. I have a plumb back nipple from the previous owner that i will look into installing this week as i know the perils/legalities/annoyances of having an atmo BOV with an AFM. If i get my tune before i set up a plumback setup, which will be better to utilize during the tune? Dose or atmo? or does it not matter? Thanks in advance for any help.

Just got my Impul Registered Tune in 7 days Build thread in projects sections if anyone is interested in my progress

Installed New HKS pod filter using a metal adapter bought from Autobarn specifically labelled to be for R33 2.5L. But no, Didnt fit as planned lol. Got it on on an angle with only 2 bolts then used some washers with the other bolts to hold the other 2 sides down. Pretty sure a headlight restoration is on the cards hopefully very soon Did a bit of a height check. Not very happy as previously stated with my ride height for legal purposes but oh well for now i guess. So yeah some Fuel pump issues arose where fuel would just cut out at random moments a few times each trip and there was also a problem where the revs would drop below now idle level,recover and then stall.. Installed my spare fuel pump from my first 4 door today which seems to have fixed the intermittent fuel problem but the stalling has happened once or twice on a trip but definitely running better and sounding better Tune is prospected for next Saturday and i cant wait as im driving around on no boost 1 positive is that i can do much lower speeds in higher gears than in my previous stock skylines so its not so bad just cruisin around off boost. 30 in second at 2100rpm sounds beautiful

Done Deal. So yeah car was having dramas with hitting boost. Changed all 3 ECU/Fuel pump Relays and that fixed it a lot. Now it just needs a proper tune. Tune is Scheduled for Saturday 14th and i cant wait! lol@NissanFAST aha Gettin sniffed. This will be installed in the coming days. Did someone say Induction noise? LOL inb4anynexentyreorhkspodhate. First Registered Voyage First Port of Call Have been inspired to possibly try and source a roof spoiler further down the track. I also legally get to drive around with one number plate on the rear for at least 2 weeks as i put in an order for my plates to be reprinted. Happy New Year,Peace.
