I've just gone through a huge problem with back pain. First felt it in Nov after playing golf and just thought I strained a muscle. 3 weeks later, the pain was still there so I saw my GP who said it would just go away with time. Bugger that, another 2 weeks later I spoke to a family friend who is an orthopaedic surgeon and sent me for a MRI. Turned out I had a herniated disc between my L5/S1 which pinched on my sciatic nerve causing a numbing pain down my left leg. He put me on Mobic (anti inflammatory), Valium and Endone. Also sent me to a physio who I did about 6 sessions with but that didn't work so I then got sent to a neurosurgeon to find out what I could do. He said to continue on the Mobic/Valium for another few weeks and see if the disc would slip back in. To no avail, I took the advice of MattLowth and visited a osteopath in Prahran who managed to manoeuvre the pain but couldn't make it go away. I finally bit the bullet on Friday though and had an epidural nerve end blocking injection made up of cortisone. Was told it'll take up to 48 hours for me to feel a real difference so I'm still kind of waiting. I do feel better so I hope in the end this works. According to stats, 75% of people get better, 25% feel no difference and <1% get worse. Apparently the epidural will last various periods of time depending on the person. Some last a couple months but others go 5 years without a problem. It was a hell of a lot less painful than I expected but I also expected the "high" to be better which I was a bit disappointed with. If you've tried nearly everything for a herniated disc, do the epidural. It should help and if that fails, unfortunately, the microdiscectomy will be the last resort which I hope I get to avoid.

Another great read. Well done peeps.

I'm staying at the Marriott in the city with Rossco, Matt Lowth, Barney and the boys from Import Monster. Not sure where Adz, Mav and others are staying.

I'll be flying up. None of this 9 hours of useless crap for me. Get me to the hotel ASAP and hook me up with a comfy bed. Road trips are only cool if you get to drive something UBER cool which I don't have access to right now

I guess I'd better be more knowledgeable on pricing before I suggest anymore "Cars I wish I had". What ever happened to the blue 612 you had initially? That thing was secksy! Loved the sound of the V12.
-
I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by affordable considering at one point you had the 612. Besides, without your help, I couldn't have been able to spell Murcielago If Phantoms are still nose bleed prices, how about something like a Continental Flying Spur or a Brooklands?
-
Here's a photo for you to consider if it's not too late.
-
>Must be 'affordable' - so no Zonda F rofl @ affordable!! I'd like to see some cool pimp cars like a CLS63 or a Rolls Royce Phantom. Maybe it's just me being selfish too How bout a Fezza 599 of a Lambo LP640?
-
Sorry to hear you sold your car Adzy I guess we all have to move along some time. Let's hope my time doesn't come too soon.

You have a PM.

This car is still for sale but has had some major modifications made to it. The entire turbo setup is now different and rims have been changed over. If you are interested in discussing further, PM me your details and I'll get in contact with you.

I've been called a lot of things but Indo ain't one of them Donny's NOSHOW S15 deserves credit for being creative but if you ever looked at that car closely, you would have noticed how shoddy some of the body and paint work were. From a distance, it looked "cool" and original but up close, it was very average IMO considering how much he spent on it. Nah, I'm just another old skool SAUer and FangArtist who enjoyed the days gone by when we pwned MAS each year we were there. Back in 04, we took out every dyno trophy except the FWD trophy. and set national records for 4 cylinder RWD, 6 cylinder RWD, 6 cylinder AWD and Outright Power. Ahhh, those were the days. Things are just a bit repetitive now with most of the cars coming back looking the same. Show cars to me come in all different shapes, sizes and colours. I respect the airbrushing which go on the top shelf cars as that is an art form and represents a show car. I also respect the time, effort and money which go into the dyno cars or the DB cars as I've been there and done that. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and people will always argue what is cool and what isn't. That's what makes shows like AutoSalon unique and diverse. Having said that though, stupid mullet haircuts with tinting through the fringe will always be stupid. I wonder why so many people think it's cool?

Went to MAS yesterday (Sat) to see what was new. Ran not Al there with his car with EAS and their usual green and red monsters. Not sure what they made on the dyno though. The number of cars were down for the year as a lot of the car clubs didn't' really show this year. I think I saw MelbS15, Agentz, TeamIgnite and a couple other smaller clubs but all the Indos, Evolve and a few others were no shows. Old cars like the PETIR Celica, Teken RX7, the hot red RX7 (who has been there for many years but I can't remember the name) were all there as were some other cars which had been rebirthed. There were a fair few new cars though which were turning heads. Buggered if I remember them coz I think I'm just getting too old for it. Even the models there this time round were only average. Didn't see any particularly hot models like you usually would in years gone by. Even walked round looking for Sandra to brighten up my day but she wasn't even there. What gives San? You said to drop past and you were a no show-er Speaking of NOSHOW. Donny wasn't even there with his S15 or Ferrari or anything. Word has it that the last time he came to MAS, he demand King of AutoSalon even before the show and when AutoSalon told him to GAGF and earn it, he hasn't been back since. Seems like money can't buy anything... The Haltech R35 GTR was there and ran up 360awkw on the dyno. This is a stock car besides the Haltech ECU. Apparently the car made 320awkw straight out of the box and they've tuned it up to a touch over 400awkw before which goes to show that this car will have some real tuning potential. At 170k though, I'm gonna hold off for a cheaper toy. The dyno comp really has become an institution with cars from around the country coming to participate and take honours. The big 3 of the day were the CDUCTV Supra ran up just over 800rwkw from what I heard but the real show came from Gas Motorworks from NSW. Their MZ2JZE ran up an impressive 841rwkw which was down on what was expected but their black GAS2JZ was a total animal and crushed it's own national record of 891rwkw with back to back runs of 949rwkw and 943rwkw!! Massive congrats to them and their awesome dyno cars. Although the cars are street registered, they weren't trying to decieve anyone and admitted that these cars are purposefully built for setting dyno records. Gone are the days of 604awkw being massive numbers. I feel proud that I was one of the people who helped bring AutoSalon dyno comps into the spotlight back in 03-05 when myself, SAU and the Fang Artists brought out the most powerful cars and attracted crowds that left for standing room only. Pics will come when I CBFed.
-
ROFL! Yeah, was back in 05 when I did 604awkw. 04 was only 595awkw and 618rwkw I know what it's like trying to get a car ready in time though. Many sleepless nights on MAS eve really take it out of you. I'll prob be heading in on Sat if I can score some freebies from Alisa or Dean.
-
I guess I'll rock up one of the days and see if Honza will give me my token freebee. If he gives it to me I'll go in otherwise I'll sneak round the back and get in anyway Hey Sandra, which day are you going? Wouldn't mind catching up again after so long.

Hi All, Reporting from Macau but was in Hong Kong yesterday visiting cousins. Maserati Granturismos and Mercedes S Classes are a dime a dozen. I was also blessed enough to see not 1 but 2 R35s GTRs. Look pretty damn hot. 1 of them was at the traffic lights next to a Mayback 57. Couldn't decide which car I wanted more...

Hey Peeps! Thanks for the bday messages! Off to Macau tonight for 2 weeks and then to KL for a week. Hoping to make some good profits over there and then take a nice laid back break in KL before coming home.

Happy birthday Juz! Hope you have a great day and a great party!

Just saw James' orange Ford driving down Church St at 1635 with trade plates on. Kinda stands out being orange and having a giant #15 on the side.

Scariest movie ever HAS to be The Exorcist. I've watched tons of scary/horror movies but when there's a sense of potential reality (depending on what you believe in) to it, it just becomes that much scarier. Badass movies: Shocking Asia series and Faces of Death series. Nothing is more hardcore than the truth.
