  1. That's fine mate! If you want the BOV after seeing pics then may be able to get Craig to bring down yours and take you mine as well if he's happy Sean
  2. Yup, after LHS side No exceptional rush though, although may as well replace it while the fronts are off the ground for the turbo rebuild Sean
  3. Will get a photo tomorrow when I remove it Would you be looking to swap? Sean
  4. Hey guys, Have a Blitz Super Sound BOV for sale. Vents to atmosphere. Only looking to sell as it wakes my daughter up. $50+postage or straight swap for your (working) standard BOV and piping. Cheers, Sean
  5. Hey guys, Looking for a standard BOV with piping to the hardpipe at the front of the engine. Previous owner put on a Blitz Super Sound BOV that wakes up my daughter everytime we back off the throttle. Also looking for a LHS front control arm. Big pot hole put a bit of a kink in it. Can do straight swap for my Blitz BOV and the standard one (if its working), or cash for your standard BOV + piping and got cash waiting for a control arm. Cheers, Sean
  6. Has anyone taken the car for a drive without the front driveshafts? Be a nice easy way to RWD it up for a few days... Knowing these cars though, it'll probably throw a code Sean
  7. Has anyone had any luck finding out what resistance is needed for the plug and hopefully clear the airbag issue up? Keen to give it a go. Cheers, Sean
  8. Yep, Craig sure is helpful - offered great service and very professional... ... And the work he did on the car was pretty good too... Jokes aside, turbo off for a rebuild. Will update with the rebuild quality and what it performs like when installed for future members. Hoping to do the LHS rocker cover gasket and a few other things while its out. Cheers, Sean
  9. Hey guys, Well today Jetwreck came down from Sydney and helped (ie: did most of everything) with the turbo removal. Let me just say - engine out would be so much easier... It took us a solid 7 hours. Anyway, it appears there was an oil starvation issue to the turbo, which doesn't have much shaft play at all but the bearing is definitely shagged. Interestingly though, all the ceramic vanes are still attached. So turbo is off to Hypergear for a rebuild and I'll be doing the roacker cover gasket while that's happening. On another note, I have an aftermarket atmo venting Blitz BOV on the car. I hate the sound and attention so if anyone has a spare working factory BOV I will gladly straight swap with you provided you have the piping to the hard pipe at the front of the engine as well. Let me know if you want a BOV! Cheers, Sean
  10. This is true, Shift work, baby, Canberra winter, open air carport and no hoist are really putting me off. I'm a mechanic at heart but when you don't have the time..
  11. Both car and I located in Canberra, ACT. Don't want to sell, but for reasons listed above it would probably be the best course of action for me Sean
  12. Hey guys, So I'm also going to be replacing the LHS cam cover seal at the same time as doing the turbo removal/rebuild. I've heard the rear of the seal is quite hard to seat properly when replacing the cam cover, but couldn't find it again when searching. Can't imagine anything other than being careful and making sure it stays in position - any hints? Alternatively - and I don't really want to do this, but - if anyone wants to buy the car as-is and replace the turbo themselves then I'm also open to offers there. Only reason is this is the main family car and I can't afford parts to take so long while waiting for repairs. The better half can only drive autos and having an 8 month old daughter really adds to the urgency. That and I'm finding it difficult to get the time in to do the work myself. So if you can help with the cam seal replacement or are interested in the car just let me know Sean
  13. Hey guys, Got a few quotes for anyone interested in the future - GCG $1380 excl shipping Hypergear $990 incl shipping (slightly larger proficle, bush bearing core) My mechanic can't fit me in and the next best quote for turbo replacement is $2500.00 labour!! So needless to say, I'll be attempting the work myself over a number of days (engine in) if anyone has a few tips to help me out, or some specialty tools they found useful. Any tips? Turbo still in car, ready to be removed when I have time though Cheers, Sean
  14. Its sitting at 105,000km at the moment Performance mods are: 3" turboback Pod filter Boost at 12psi-14psi (stock) Sean
  15. Andy - What was the costing on your turbo? Jetwreck - PM'd Sean
  16. So hypergear is the way to go. Who should I talk to there, anyone have a hookup? Cheers
  17. Always forget the important details. 2002 M35 Cheers, Sean
  18. Hi guys, My partner just blew the turbo while I was driving right next to her. No boost and a horrible (Awesome?) squealing sound. Now I've heard of people getting a hypergear highflow/rebuild, as well as GCG. I'm basically looking for cost effectiveness, happy with a slightly above standard rebuild but no more and not chasing power either. Who/what have people gone with and what are the recommendations? Based in Canberra, if that helps. And if anyone has a spare they want to sell, I'll take it! P.S - I did search but kept getting timeout errors Cheers, Sean
  19. I average 10.5-10.8 city and country. Never seems to go over that unless I'm alone in the car.. Got a 9.0 flat from Canberra to Sydney a few times, really Banting though and not downshifting on the hills... P.s - PhoenixPup, I'm based in Canberra too, southside Sean
  20. All, Got my new cam cover seal. How hard is it to replace by myself? I have limited mechanical knowledge on these cars, but have previously owned a 300ZX (4+ hours to change injectors and sparks...) Otherwise will get my workshop to do, but really want to do it a bit cheaper. Anything I should know about? Cheers, Sean
  21. Sorry, Series 1 M35 I just wanna throw some tape over it because everytime I reverse it wakes the baby up! Sean
  22. Hi guys, I'm looking to muffle the sound of the reverse/ignition beeper, but don't know where it is. Can ayone shed some light? Sean
  23. I may be interested in stock tune minus throttle restriction and speed cut. Price?
