how much did what cost? Justin...

$650 is an unobtanium price? the japanese site lists the din gauge unit at 57,570yen. 52mm individual link meters range from 17,850 to 25,200yen. http://www.nippon-seiki.co.jp/defi/list/list.html I recently bought three 60mm amber series BF defis with the control unit II,for $678 landed,in my hands. they're not THAT expensive. I've seen a 180sx washer bottle swapped into an R33 to clear intercooler plumbing. R34 bottle will do the job as well most likely. my S2 has tonnes of room under the rails on the driver's side. I've moved my A/T oil cooler over there as my front mount uses the std piping run. last, pods aren't that much louder, and do flow more air than the box ever will. Justin...

again, people keep denying the boost cut exists, when it does. rich and retard does NOT put your head through the windscreen in the same way the boost cut does. 1.1bar is just over a kg/cm2,which is where my series 2 oes the same thing - it CUTS the ignition. it doesn't retard it a few degrees,it stops it. a retard gives you a dull feeling,a cut stops the party entirely, which is what happens. again,do people want a demo? I'm still happy to be proven wrong in person on this. Justin...

defi make 52mm gauges. 60mm units are more common, but they do make the 52's. Justin...

Who,what? What happened? series one or two? Justin...

yes. I'll be doing the exact same thing when I can get around to it. I have a spare 4.1:1 S14 Q's diff, and an S14 Viscous centre sitting here spare. I'll only need to swap the diff cover out of the wagon, and use my driveshafts. Justin...

use the search function. there have been two large threads on this topic in the last year. I'm using rav4 factory racks on my wagon. check the threads for other options. Justin...

'mearcat' Gauge Pods For The Stagea
fergo308 replied to MearCat's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Excellent mate. Put me down for a double clock pod,and a single pillar pod please. Justin... -
What's your front caster setting? even caster is best for cornering, but on cambered roads, the car will follow the road camber noticeably if the caster is even. set the O/SF back half a degree and it'll track straighter when cruising around. What other settings are you running out of interest? Justin...

use nissan genuine ATF too. dextron III is not ideal. you'll get flared shifts when cold. Justin... -
Anyone Done A Vip/dub Stagea
fergo308 replied to agent_felix's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
maybe there are plenty of blinged out hummers over in the us,but they're not VIP cars. just like blinging up a stagea won't qualify. you could put carbon fibre bits all over it and throw in a roll cage, but it wouldn't be a race car then either... it's a wagon, that's all it'll ever be. I own one too remember, and don't feel any need to make it what it's not, although it is far from standard,it's not pretending to be anything other than a daily driver with a bit of go. as for the 'time of the month' bit, you'll have to try far harder than that to upset me mate. I call a spade a spade. a stagea is NOT a VIP car. it doesn't matter what you do to it,it never will be. I'm not against people being different, I don't give a toss what you do to your car, you're the one driving it,not me. I won't agree with your calling it something it's not though. delude yourself all you like, but don't expect me to smile and nod. Justin... -
Anyone Done A Vip/dub Stagea

there's also the small point that VIP cars are SEDANS,not wagons... wait, let me guess, this is all about being 'different' right? Justin... -
Anyone Done A Vip/dub Stagea
fergo308 replied to agent_felix's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
What does 'DUB' stand for? VIP has a meaning, what's the other one? the VIP look almost works on subaru wagons,so I guess you could try it with a stagea. you need a VIP car for the proper style though. like a celsior... Justin... -
some people do a handbrake conversion using R33 handle, cables and centre console... you wouldn't need the dash lever then... Justin...

you can't expect three gauges for $175 to be accurate... you'll pay easily more than that for one name brand gauge most of the time. for example,I recently picked up three defi bf's to put into my stagea. water temp, oil temp, oil pressure and a controller II unit for $650. will look good in the clock and pillar positions I expect. 'mearcat' Gauge Pods For The Stagea
fergo308 replied to MearCat's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
the clock pod just pops out, pull it up and forward, and it'll come straight out. I've had mine out a couple of times, checking out stuff like this. Alan,I'll try and take a couple of pics of it this arvo and will send them over to you. Justin... -
'mearcat' Gauge Pods For The Stagea
fergo308 replied to MearCat's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You already know that I'm interested Alan. since you're doing prototypes, would you be able to do a double pod that'd fit into the clock location in the centre of the dash? I'm picking up three defi bf gauges in a week or so and would like to put one on the pillar, and the other pair in the centre of the dash in a pod where the std clock is supposed to be. there's enough room there to get two 60mm gauges, with minimal protrusion, and good sight angle. if you could make something to fit into this location also,I'd be happy to pay the extra production costs of the second unit,on top of the normal price for a pillar model. Justin... -
thanks for the info, although you might need to add a few zeros to those prices. you've got a brand new RS4 hicas at about $4.5k aussie dollars. Justin...

Upgrading Stagea Headlights & Fog Lights
fergo308 replied to Sydneykid's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
a cheap option is the 'plus 50' narva range. I've used them in several cars in the past, and in my S2 when it still had halogen globes in it,before I bought a set of factory HIDs. at ~$30 a pair, you can't go wrong. Justin... -
if $26k is out of your price range, how's just under $25k? there's a yellow S2 at Edward Lee's on parramatta road that's been there since I bought my S2 almost a year ago. noone will touch it because of the colour it would seem,as it's fine otherwise. I sat in it when it was at E&M Unique, and bought my silver S2 the same day from them, which was out back and not fully delivered at the time. go check it out and offer the guy $20k. if it's still there after chrissie, try again,he might take the offer, you never know. ;-) Justin...
