question. Probably showing my noobness at cars now but what are the benefits of having the front set to medium to high over soft?? i mean it causes under steer the tighter you go, so why would you want it.

If its for street driving i thought the best setup was to have it soft at the front then medium for the rear.

When you look at it the queens birthday is the 13th of June. From today thats 6 weeks. Including yourself we will have the numbers. Lets factor in 1 week for organizing of funds then 2- 3 weeks shipment, even add 1 week in for contingency, you are looking at maximum 5 weeks for the bars to show up at your door. T4NK i guarantee you that the car has been on the list since May 2010. Ive done so much research and read almost every thread on every forum relating to this subject. The reason it was most likely put on the list was due to people on the their P plates who owned 350z complained that they cant drive their 350z so why is the 350gt available?? I know id be pissed if i was a P plater in a 350z and its illegal and then Joe Blow from down the road buys an almost identical car to me and is allowed to drive it. The reason falcons and commodores V6 range will not be placed on the banned list EVER!!!, is due to "protectionism" in Australia over its car industry. Also they are 4 doors and ours are coupes so 350gt's are considered sports cars. Just dont run into highway patrol, stick to driving in the day and avoid the western suburbs. That is for Sydney, other cities im not sure how your cops patrol. If you want to play a trick, even the RTA people do not know its illegal. Call the RTA and ask if a v6 skyline is illegal for P platers, the majority will say no. Its not on the list.

In NSW your car is not illegal if it has 200kw+. Its judged on if its on the RTA prohibited list. The lotus elise is not banned but can munch on a shit load of turbo cars that are banned for P platers. In NSW the 350gt is illegal but not many cops know because their database does not recognise it. When a cop puts your rego into their database the 350gt is not on any banned list so it is not flagged. The 350gt is just listed on the rta website as a variant of the 350z. IMO its just bad communication between the RTA & the cops which works out for us. =D I didn't know that. how do you know that the cop's database will not recognise it? do you know someone in the police force? just asking cos I waited for years to get my hands on a V35 when I was a P plater... I had a friend who was on P plates driving a 350gt, he got his full license in Feb 2011. On boxing day and on a random occasion in Janurary he was pulled over by cops for breath testing. I was with him an both times, they took his license back to the car and what they did then i do not know but i assume they popped the rego and his license details into their database. Twice after giving a 0 reading on the breath tests they told us to have a nice day and we were on our way. BUT!!! i know of someone who was driving in the western suburbs of Sydney and was pulled over by a h/w patrol. He got the fine and loss of 7 points. So from my personal experience I can tell you that unless the cop knows the car is illegal then you are likely not going to get pulled over.

Hey Im considering tracking my car in the near future just for fun, nothing serious as it is my daily car so this looks like a great 1st mod. The installation for these bars can they be done easily or is it better off just taking them to a mechanic to install. Also if i did get a mechanic to install what do you think should be charged for labour? just want to get a rough idea. By the way i have 2004 350gt coupe Automatic, will these fit or is it only manuel?? Sorry for the nooby questions.

Hey!! Looked through the V-series section and couldnt find a direct answer to my question. To sum it up: I need new brake Pads. As a total noob to most mechanics of the car I am unsure of what pads i need for my car. The pads I have currently have around 30%-40% but squeak like hell and need new pads desperately. Im budgeting around $300-$400 inc labour but I would like to source the pads my self and get the mechanic just to fit them. I have a 2004 350gt 2nd anniversary coupe. Stock brakes no brembo's. I may track my car pretty soon so I need pads that can take a beating, not squeak like hell and are good for daily use. Thanks

I have a question. if i had an accident 3 years ago and i did put a claim through an old insurance company and do not declare this when i sign up for insurance with a new company, what can happen. Can anyone with experience, YES i know if you make a claim with your new insurance company they may not pay but I want to see if anyone has a first hand account of this happening and what the result was with the new insurance company.

Dont listen to these fools. I had a friend who drove a 350gt for 6 months on his green P's during August 2010 - Feb 2011(then got his full license) . He was pulled over twice by the cops for breath tests. One being a road side breath test and the other was a cop car who randomly pulled him over. Both times they took his license to the car and checked out his details and twice they told him to go along his merry way. FACT: When a police officer pops your rego in or your license details there is a box that will come up saying 'High powered Vehicel", the 350gt is not on this list hence no flags go up when the cop puts your details in. The reason for this is due to the 350gt not being on any prohibited list just that it is listed on the RTA website as a grey import and a variant of nissans 350z. But considering you are on your P's it would be wise not to modify your car to draw attention to yourself since you are on your P's and driving an illegal car. My friend lives in Sydney and avoided the western suburbs and driving around on fridays and saturday nights around the city etc to stay away from highway patrol. Those cops are the only ones who really know the law. Maye consider removing the skyline and 350gt badge on the rear till you get your full license. Also the 350gt became illegal in May 2010 so many cops do not know of it being illegal. But as time goes on news will get out and your normal cop cars and breath testing stations will become aware and might get you. Remember this though, 7 demerti points and $400+ fine if caught, included parking your car on the side of the road and walking/cabbing home to mummy and daddy. If you have an accident insurance will not cover you depending on the severity of the claim. To get back on topic seeing as your 18 and own a 350gt (25K+ car) then i can imagine price of items not being a major issue for you. Take your car to a mechanic that specialises on imports, tell them you want a new exhaust and intake system and they will quote you a price (inc items and labour). Call them in a couple of days and say you want 10% off the price as you have been quoted a better deal else where and they WILL say yes =D. These two modifications will give your car a much more aggressive sound and add 30+ kw to your car (maybe after a tune). Question: have you insured your car?? if so who with. and if you dont mind telling the price . I just bought a 350gt and i am 21 and insured with just car with the most expensive excess at a premium of $1800.
