  8. My premium 300GT was a 03/2004 build, it was written off in last yrs march hailstorm. interesting factory parts were - gun metal/ grey colour (not silver) - center console was all black execept the circular area around the auto gear shift. - Series 2 boot lid - larger 'skylight' letters across, no release ledge on boot, release from drivers or from remote key only. I remember it was a big difference in engine response and power after a carbon clean at the wkshop even though the car only done less then a genuine 30k kms on the odometer. Mechanic said something along the lines of having to use twice the amount of carbon cleaner to do the job due to the build up.
  9. I'm a little confused, the maker of Godspeed sways tells me that they are only for coupe, but yet the whiteline ones could fit both 2drs and 4drs? so far 22 views and no reply yet
  10. Hi guys I've been looking at sway bars for my gt8 on ebay.com and found that there are a few v35 sway bars (namely Godspeed)that fits only coupes Is that entirely true or does it only NOT fit there AWD version of G35 there? ... what I mean is, does the coupe sway bars fit the sedans as long as they are not the AWD version? Does the whiteline in the group buy here fit both? Anybody here can shed some light on this? cheers!
  11. Hi Nas Don't be so keen to swap to the 5spd gearbox, you'll find that it's a far cry from the luxury feel of the gt8 cvt. Take this from somebody who have own(ed) both of them You do have to take care and make sure you have the tranny fluid changed properly ie, correct fluid, every say 80-100k Beware of the odometer in import cars, in general take them with a pinch of salt. Look at how worn the drivers seat, brake discs, etc instead. I did not trust that my GT8 had done 40+k when i bought it so i bit the bullet and got the tranny fluid changed to be safe. IRev in Bayswater is very experienced with v35 and they have the scan tool. They got the tranny oil at the best price for me. Call Nuwan 0422 807 393
  12. sorry for my late response ... looks like it's going to be a fire ban day on sunday Is the meet going ahead as planned? Me n mrs are interested to join in ..
  13. yeah that's me .. but the car is still not starting up occasionally .... and the startup is still sluggish, not what you'll expect from a new 430CCA battery and a fresh re-con starter motor .. going to get the immobilser checked out tomorrow from the workshop that complianced it.
  14. ok 96 views and I'm still having a monologue here .. anyway, for future reference ... I've got it fixed .. $250 recon + $80 labour in out done! I found one for $275 from an interstate wrecker, me thinks is too much for a used and unre-con unit. From Nissan Aus? -> about $1500 + shipping waiting time from japan.
  15. .. can anybody point me to a v35 that is wrecking in melb?
  16. Hey guys Need some help here. Starter motor on the gt8 is dead. Other then pulling it out and refurbish is there any other cheaper or faster way? Is the 350z starter motor the same one? Thanks!
  17. ... so for the same ~$700, I'll get the slotted discs from Rianto and pads from ebay US Pads are easy enough to put on I've done many times on s13s, 300gt/360gt8 .. rotors i'm about to try pretty soon
  18. you talking about both front n rear pairs right? u've tried getting Rianto's help? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rd...up-t302461.html I've gotten my non-brembo nissan brake pads from ebay.com for about AUS$100 delivered in the past, even cheaper now exchange rate http://shop.ebay.com/westcovinanissan/m.ht...1.c0.m270.l1313
  19. I'm looking for the same part for sedan gt8. Look here for some info, the ebay listing i've put up is not the correct part though. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Cr...nt-t341075.html Think this is the correct one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OEM-INFINIT...sQ5fAccessories can somebody comfirm? Edit: sorry just noticed you replied in that thread already ... $600 for labour?? check ur Pm
  20. hi thanks again 180 wanabe, will those US G35 covers fit same as our JDM VQs? ... mmm those ss headers looks tempting as for engine oil, i've tried mobil 1, royal purple and redline in the VQs ... i'm never touching mobil 1 ever again!
  21. excellent! .. Thanks! .. and wowcool .. the V series are great cars to own and drive, the GT8's CVT is the smoothest silk .. but just as you'll get extra attention on the road, you'll need to give it extra attention (ie research) when getting parts for it (unless you're happy to pay extra through nissan australia). forums like this one is your source of help, members like 180 wanabe makes a difference
  22. Hi guys, looked under the car with my mech yesterday and found that the bushes on both side of the car has cracked. Sorry i don't have a photo but the on the front lower arm of the car, the bushing that is towards the back of the car is the one i'm referring to. It would cause the wearing out the front tyres quick. Nissan would only sell them bushes WITH the arm, like $200+ each side Anybody used these replacement bushes before? R these the correct ones? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/G35-350Z-Fr...sQ5fAccessories Anybody with experience with the bushes pls share Cheers!
  23. Hi, related to the orginal post of maintenance, I was just told by my mech yesterday that my seals are leaking, oil leaking lower gasket and spark plugs oil seal leaking etc .. and i have to get a complete pair of the rocker covers to fix it?? Could you guys who have experienced/ fixed this leaking spark plug seal leaking problem before tell me more about it and what part numbers are the needed to fix a 350gt8 (VQ35DE)? Thanks
