The V Series Spotted Thread
nissan rules replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Spotted a blue v35 coupe on Hammond Rd near Greens Rd, Dandy at about 12.40pm today sunday ... i was on the other side of Hammond road -
.. definately firmer then the standard shocks that our 300GT had. Even though the springs look standard and the ride height normal, the 350GT8 has less roll around corners with these red ones. Anyways, these are up for sale $200 with the springs thrown in though I would match them with firmer lower springs.
-
oh gosh ... the new struts I've put in are the silver nismo s tune struts And I just compared the nismo ones with these red ones .. the stamps are in the same location and in the same wording layout and style, complete with 'nissan' and 'unisia' only difference is the nismo one has the 'nismo' sticker on it and the red one is in the same colour as my 350GT8 .... I'll really like to hear from other GT8 owners what they have on their car .. maybe it is a standard for GT8s to be upgraded to nismo struts from the factory and so comes in the same colour as the car itself? well ... looks like I might as well should had just change the springs alone!?

Mod Journey Has Begun
nissan rules replied to crystos's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
hey, it could be worse .. remember those spinning chrome wheel covers? -
yes they're for sale ... i'm just trying to source for more infor on what it's worth now, i don't think it's much but it's fair price.

I've just changed my struts and springs on my series 1 350GT8, I'm surprised to find the factory struts in red instead of the usual black. The springs are standard as far as I can tell but I do feel that the car roll less on these factory struts then compared to my previous 300GT. They have the Unisun/Nissan stamp on it. Anybody here knows if they're some kind of factory upgrade option for the GT8s? Thanks!

Where To Get A Service In Se Melb?
nissan rules replied to RichardT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
.. so agree with you If you can go a little more to the east, I Revolution would be the wkshop for V35, they are in Bayswater now. -
You should at least test drive the GT-8 CVT. To sum it up I would just say that you get what you pay for .. it is incredible piece of engineering work and everybody i've spoken to has said that it is the smoothest drive they've ever experienced. Feels like real luxury i would say. My missus and me still getting used to the whole new driving experience of our new GT-8 after our previous 300GT 5sp auto has been written off in the Melbourne hail storm. The difference in feel bet the 2 cars has been a lot more then anticipated. Budget another $1.2k into buying 8lts of tranny oil if you get the GT8. Better be safe then to trust the odometer on the car. I've got a reading of 10.7Ltr/100kms as the ave for the last 2 weeks too - and it is better then the 300GT despite the extra .5ltr increase in capacity size of the engine!

School Me On V35 Sedans
nissan rules replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
[*]The S1 sedan we're gonna check out has a boot release lever on the back, wheras the S2 doesn't seem to. The S2 has an internal boot release, but I couldn't find one in the S1, does it have one? The 2004 S1 300GT that I had has no doggy door. And it has both a internal and a remote (button on the key) for boot release. The ONLY relase button on my current 'doggy door' styled boot is at the underside of the top of the doggy door itself. I wonder if the doggy door boots comes also with remote release? -

Group Purchase Gounding Kit
nissan rules replied to FoxV35's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Bought this kit with some hesitation as there was no guarantee as how it would fit a 300GT with VQ30DD. I can now say that I am glad I bought it!! It did come in handy that I have a 1m cable from another grounding kit available to me though. I needed it to connect to the battery terminal, replacing wire #2 in the instructions. Other then that, the front timing cover ground point in step 9 is further away from the plenum side grounding point in step 5 so I just swapped cable lengths around and I ended up with wire #4 unused. I couldn't find any grounding point bolted to the inner fender wall as describled in step 14 so I looped it back to the -ve battery terminal. Cable length down to the 5 sp auto tranny is fine. I did not reset the ECU. All bolt lengths are fine, I only changed the bolt at the -ve terminal to a longer one. The car certainly felt more responsive and 'ready to go' when you accelerate from stand still. The gear changes are more efficient (earlier) ... semi auto gear changes no longer have that horrible delay. I did not tell my wife anything as I wanted to see if she would feel any difference herself when she took the car to work yesterday. She came back and asked me what I did with the car as she was feeling that the car was pulling harder and quicker. hehee .. -
V35 Sedan Windscreen Crack!
nissan rules replied to nissan rules's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
ok, I've got it all sorted out today, and I'm relieved that it did not cost as much as I thought it would. Was pointed out a small chip where the crack started. And here's what i've found out for replacing a v35 sedan windscreen in vic so that it could be knowledge for all here ... o'brien - they have only 8pces of v35 sedan windscreens in australia and they're in their warehouse in sydney. would take a couple of days to arrive in melb and it would cost $406 installed National Windscreen - can't find aftermarket windscreen for the sedan, would have to order a orginal nissan part RACV - quoted $375 if you're their member, $423 if non-member. said that it is cheaper for coups as windscreens for them are readily available. Auto Glass Vic - $265 installed and can do it the next day. Roy's windscreen - i went ahead with them as they can get the glass in a couple of hours and have it fitted today for $280. Call 0417 323115 and they're in Dandenong. Had a small drama when they found the label on the winscreen saying its for a coup but the supplier assured it is for sedan. And yes it all worked out well. see first half of post 9 in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/So...p;hl=windscreen -
Well I got the sedan installed with the goodies .. clear side indicators, intense white light bulbs and grounding kit ... pulled the car out of the driveway to test drive and suddenly saw this crack running down from the middle top of the windscreen down like 10cm and then going left and right .. how did this happen? only movement i made on the car is jacking it up on the front so that i could connect the grounding wire to the tranny. anyway, now i need some help to source for a V35 sedan .. i'm in Vic Thanks *sigh .. not looking forward to the cost ..

ah ... i spy your clear side indicators in your photos
