+ 1 for owning a daily & weekend car. In my opinion it's the only way to go ! As all the other members have already mentioned the positives far out weigh the negatives

Just throwing a quick question out there bout Gearbox & Diff oil leaking. Just got these two areas of my skyline serviced by a workshop & now after the service has been carried out both of them are slightly leaking. Both were not leaking before i got them serviced & now leaving puddles of oil on the garage floor. Could it be they have over filled both areas & over a period of driving both will stop leaking ? Have checked all filler & drain plugs on both of them & all are tightly done up. The oil on the ground is a nice clean oil , so least that part they have done right !!

What Would A Standard Rb25et Make In A R33 ?
Tweaky replied to Tweaky's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks for the info , just wanted to know the factory power output to compare . See how far it has come from standard figures. My 33 got tuned this week. Happy with my results it made 290rwkw on 20psi . The engine obviously has a bit of work done to it -

Have you tried putting your mobile phone on the private function , so your number doesn't show up on his phone when you call him . Then he might answer his phone if he doesn't know it's you . Worth a try i think !!

Maybe using Penrite Sin 5 oil is a better choice for the car. Its a 5w-60w which would cater for both street & track use. I use this oil & never have had any problems with it , but i don't do much track work though. Also maybe should make a habit of checking your oil level every time before you drive the car . Peace of mind , also better safe then sorry !!

For my skyline i always use full synthetic oils & in my case i use Penrite Sin 5 oil which is a 5w -60w. There are many good quality brands on the market like Royal Purple , Motul , Penrite & many others. Just depends on how much you want to spend but for me quality comes first ! Nissan recommends a 10w-40w for the skylines.

Is the sensor easy to get at & which is the best way to go bout it for removal & replacing ? Thanks.
-
Found the problem , it's the sensor on the gearbox when you put it in reverse. If you slightly push the gear stick to the left while in reverse the lights go on , but when u let it go the lights go back off again. So the sensor is playing up then ! Now how to fix the problem is the next question !!!!!

My Reverse lights in my R33 Gts-t are not working , but when i bought the car bought 8 months ago all was good. Pulled the old bulbs out to see if they were blown , but all was good. Anyway still replaced them with new ones but still no reverse lights ! Is there any fuses or relays which could be the problem , everything else in the wire department looks good & intact. What could be causing this ?

I've been told the best place to put a BOV is on the throttle body side of the intercooler piping or as close to the throttle body as possible. The skyline i own has the BOV on the turbo side of the piping under the left wheel guard. Will this affect the performance of the car or damage the turbo/ engine over a period of time ? Is it worth while changing it to the throttle body side ?

Very interesting topic on all the major brands of oils , especially some big names which aren't as really good as they claim to be ! I use Penrite Sin 5 in my skyline , never had any problems & shows it is one of the top quality performing oils on the market. Test results now prove it . Good job Penrite

Interesting Read Up On Garrett / Honeywell Turbo
Tweaky replied to PetroDola's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Now won't be buying a Garrett turbo in the future , will now look else where ! I hate how companys rely on reputation which once was the best & turn it to shit by trying to make their profit margins bigger ! I feel sorry for the employees which have put their heart & soul into the company , then get treated like a peice of shit -
It also depends on what u want changed on the car aswell ! Eg You might want ur turbo to come on boost a little early then what it's doing at present or u might want better fuel economy . You gotta work out what u & the tuner can do together , a little bit of team work so to say !

When looking at the lights when the bonnet is up the lights have two metal clips , which i thought u could undo & take the outer plastic off the light. If not how do i buy the glass lights off u then ?
-
Just wondering if you can take the outer plastic off the headlights of a R33 ? They are dulled & yellow looking , have tried cleaning them with a headlight restoring kit but still not happy with them. Can you replace the old ones & buy new ones for them , or do have to buy the whole light assembly ? Which costs a small fortune !
