  2. Hey guys, thought I'd show you our R34 which we will be debuting at the Sydney Powercruise in a couple of weeks. It's been a while in the making so finding the time to finish it has been a task amongst all of our customers cars! It features a BC 2.8L stroker engine, Precision 7175 turbo and Haltech Platinum Pro ECU. The drivability of this thing is awesome, with the gates cracking at about 4600rpm in 19psi. Although it has Bosch 2000cc injectors in it, we hadn't upgraded the rear section of the fuel system but will have it finished this week. That's the reason why you will notice a lean graph, so we capped the revs at 5500rpm. Even so, as you will see it's still a quick car on 323kW, we think another 25psi will help it nicely
  3. Hi guys, we have been building this beast for a while and it's now coming to the closing stages. We have it entered in the Sydney Powercruise which is two weekends away, by then we will have the fuel system completed and power. As you'll be able to tell from the fuel graph it heads lean thanks to the stock fuel pump, hence the reason for limiting the revs to 5500rpm. It's gonna be fast!
  4. I have run 650whp and 39psi on the stock spring and it's fine
  5. Ethanol, but as someone suggested it choked after 245kW, just mythbusting
  6. It would work great on an RB30, we have pushed beyond their hp rating of 570hp.
  7. We were getting frustrated with it living The other passes were on a lower boost setting Well it copped the initial load, then unleashed the tyres with 3 of us in the back which it has never done, it did hold 45psi flat though. It would have definitely been over 430kW, I'd say 450kW at a guess. Sadly we'll never know! Will keep you updated when we crack it open to find out the truth
  8. Well after some Friday arvo beers I managed to Gee the boss up pretty hard, basically I stressed that there was no point in us going out to get kicked off for a mid 10, let's try to run a 9.... So, I came back around 30 seconds later with a 6262SP in hand and it didn't take much convincing. Friday was a party here at Powertune, music cranking, cashews, chips, and within a very short time the turbo was on and the Red Dragon was getting reversed onto the rollers. Had a solid 5 passes on the dyno, but we knew the 6262 needed a bit more boost to get it in the zone, though 45psi didn't agree with something in the engine! It filled number 2 and 3 with water so we're thinking it's either lifted the head again or cracked the block around a water jacket. Anyway, I've rocked up here this morning and the engine is out, and 2.2L stroker in ready to go, in fact they're finish up the install of the built engine now with the 6262SP on. Get ready for round 2
  9. We supply the whole billet range from the 5557 to 6765 comes with a 0.70 a/r comp cover, however we can special order the non ported covers which have a 2.8" intake, as far as I'm aware they are a 0.60a/r front, similar to a 3076R in size.
  10. As much as we're hanging to finish it, it's been put on the backburner since customers cars come first!
  11. Just to let you know guys, we are now offering the 62 and 67 range with divided split pulse T4 housings. This is something new from Precision, I'm sure it will make it a lot more attractive for some of you with twin scroll setups! We have .84 in stock and are able to offer 1.00 and .70
  12. I tried (not to that extent) with my 3037S with a 1.12 a/r rear. It made 376kW on 25psi on my SR, we didn't got further as the boost line started to fall. I think that all I would have been doing is overspooling it.
  13. Yes we would say so for clearance of the front housing
  14. I don't think it's a case of how long it will last, moreso how it will break. We pulled the head off on the weekend, pistons were absolutely mint, no detonation marks at all. We're thinking it will be conrod or gudgeon pin related when it fails. Either way we're looking forward to seeing how. It is our development car, and we have a BC 2.2L bottom end assembled ready to go when it goes boom!
  15. Yes the results are awesome, this time we turned it back to show that we were telling the truth about the boost though, as I can't show you the log on the Haltech... well I could but it's too much mucking around for a busy workshop. As mentioned previously, we will offer free tuning to a donor RB25DET owner wanting to put one on a 5557 purchased from us. Don't be shy guys If we had an RB25 as one of our project cars it would be on it! The turbo's and all other info can be found on our website. And the 6262SP will be going on the S14 next after we race it, 40psi here we come. Wonder how/if the standard bottom end will let go!!
  16. So far every Precision turbo we've seen has gone beyond its power rating comfortably, if we can do the same with this one is will be a genuine 1000hp car, so I guess that will be our aim
  17. Well we've since replaced the head gasket in the S14, and while it was apart installed ARP head studs and a BC valve spring and a retainer kit, which has allowed us to rev the engine a bit harder. The result was 392.3kW at the wheels with a 35psi spike which fell down to a stable 33psi. For the guys who were sceptical before, we ran it at 29psi and got 367kW at the wheels. So there it is, the limit found of a 5557. Pretty crazy stuff really from a baby .63 exhaust housing! If the weather is good tomorrow we'll be taking the car to WSID on full slicks Here are the sheets And now for the Skyline lovers, here are some pics of the R34 that we're building, you can check out a full spec list on our site at: http://www.powertune.com.au/projectcars-gtr.html It now features a BC 2.8 and Precision GT4271R ball bearing billet turbo, Powertune twin scroll manifold, hopefully we'll have it run in and tuned by the end of the month, then of course straight to the drags
  18. Please keep it positive guys, a lot of hard work went into designing it. Far from a bit of machine work.
  19. It will be exactly the same as factory, so ultimately for a circuit car you would still require a surge tank, but for the majority of big powered street cars, this will do the job and saves a lot of stuffing around.
