R34 Gtt 6 Speed Conversion

yeah definitely not worth, it will cost you possibly more than getting gears strengthened or fresh ones if your lucky enough to source them cheap. -
R34Gtt Strong Cut,power Loss On Acceleration
B-rice replied to B-rice's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
inbetween 3/4 and half. Thought so aswell at the start i even thought the pump is dying out due to low voltage so i jumped in the boot and a mate drove around while i was checking the voltage 13.4v constant the pump. Also thought the rubber intake was sucking shut so I took it off. Will be contacting you soon for a metal one. Ive already ordered Splitfires through JesseStreeter, soon as they arrive ill update if it fixes just incase someone may have the same problem in the future. -
ahhhh i love SAU. I karked mine whilst changing injectors. Might be the culprit to me blowing smoke on decel and hard left turns.

R34Gtt Strong Cut,power Loss On Acceleration
B-rice replied to B-rice's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Some progress or maybe just a little. Took of the intake and tested for boost leak for the second time. None were found, Took my boost controller off and connected the wastegate directly to the cooler piping niple. It seemed like it worked at the start, managed to get it boosting up to 1/2 bar. But it was only because the car was still cold. The cut out is comes back when the car gets up to operating temperature. Disconnected the wastagate and the flap is moving freely. Took out the coilpacks and reconnected them with new spark plugs no luck. Waiting for coilpacks to arrive hopefully that should fix it. -

Will a 350z box Bolton the R34gtt though also are they any stronger than Rb25 boxes. Could be a good mod for economy and possibly higher speeds. -
How Often Do You Get Tailgated?

That's one of the few good uses of my Rev limiter. It turned on by handbrake and just rev past 3500. The flame or black cloud is enough for them to realise. Then I get a goosey look at the traffic light. -
yup im biking it avoiding attention

Vipec V88 plugin as soon as you get on boost it cuts, but sometimes it does go past to about half bar if you trickly accelerate slowly. Hopefully changing my coilpacks will fix this issue. Will do a boost leak test tommorrow. -

Yeah can't expect magic out of tuners sometimes some issues are weird and they have not experienced it. I bought some coils off jessestreeter since they're new I'll start of at the biggest gap 1.1mm if it misses go down till it doesn't. Bcpr7es Zeb its 16psi dropping to 14. -

I took it to the tuner and he said everything was working as should according to the sensors etc. He thought it's a boost leak but there isnt. Will spend the weekend trying out everything. -
If it was 140 would be very reasonable for long journeys like CBR to SYD would definetely respect that and not go over, 110 is just depressing.

nah i swap them out every 5000kms when i change oil but ive done it more frequently of late coz of E85. Im thinking of getting these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/230640250253?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 -
Have you tested out that turbo with a twin scroll turbo. Could possibly make it slightly linear for the street. Otherwise quite a mental result it would definetely hit like a ton of bricks with the torque.
-
slight chance it might happen but you'll get a few against it to rule the idea out.

i really hate fault finding im having a strong cut when i accelerate heavily after changing the clutch. Might buy a new fuel filter, injector cleaner and new sparks. As for coilpacks will have to buy a new set, is there anyone with 34 coilpacks known working that i can use to test out if theyre the cause. -
old thread revival what was the outcome with this???

yeah thanks will put every connection and reconnect hopefully its a loose connection somewhere.

R34Gtt Strong Cut,power Loss On Acceleration
B-rice replied to B-rice's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
might buy a pair through streeter but wouldnt it be constant throughout? the rev range -
After changing clutch I noticed during test drive that I have a strong cut- momentary powerloss till i lift off the pedal. Its almost like a cylinder cut or fuel cut that happens when the traction control kicks in. Usually happens when car has warmed up and on slightly hard acceleration. If revs/speed is built progressively the cut is not present. Ive tried swapping the CAS as someone mentioned that their CAS was the cause of this. Also tried unplugging and plugging the boost controller and MAP sensor. Im running MAFless so ive ruled out the AFM. Anyone know what this could possibly be. Have tried a few things and im not able to pin point the problem.

Also whilst testing the new clutch found out that i have this strong cut when i accelerate at about 50% throttle. If i progressively build up speed seems like the problem is not there. Took it to the tuner and he had no idea aswell, seemed like everything was indicating to be fine with the settings on the ECU. No fault code was even thrown. Through researching heard that the CAS could be kaput but I used a mates CAS and the cut is still there. Th cut is almost harsher than traction controll fuel cut. It feels like emergency braking then when i release the pedal it resume like everything has been normal. Its also not a boost cut or spike because ive been monitoring the gauge. Anyone got ideas?

quick update, since the last tune had been driving around with a slipping clutch wasnt too bad it would slip mostly on hard acceleration. Got a temporal clutch as a band aid fix, couldnt wait for the time it would take me to save up for a proper Nismo Coppermix to handle the power im chasing. One afternoon decided to go ahead with installing the clutch. Was probably the worst day to pick working in a garage at 40degrees plus, was dripping like water. Jacked the car up and put it on ramps, dont really just jack stands. Dont think ill ever do this without a hoist, next time ill definitely hire one out somewhere. So I modified the trolley jack and put plank on to increase the base, since some wiggling of the box would be involved. Managed to undo most of the bolts quite easily, the top starter bolt was a bi*ch, took me about half an hour to figure out how to remove it with a bit of persistence it lost against me. Box was lowered and" bench pressed" to the side flywheel was removed and machined. Clutch was definitely on its last legs im surprised i could still drive it around with it for sometime. Mounting the pressure plate involved some ingenuity, 5hiv came up with this good idea that was used to stop the flywheel turning as the tools for stopping it could not be found anywhere. The plank was fitted between the dowels and when it turned the chasis would stop it from turning further.Worked a treat and managed to torque up the bolts. After a day of swearing constantly was a funny moment when I actually tried to bench as a means to get the spline in the clutch. Eventually with some wiggling and some assistance from Stinky-Poo managed to get the spline aligned with the clutch. Gotta say everything else seemed like a breeze. To finish it off added some Motul Gear 300 the box and it doesnt feel as good as Nissan Gearbox oil.
