Rb26 Inlet Manifold And Adaptation To Rb25 Heads .
B-rice replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Fair enough. I should have mentioned that i already have a fuel rail, injectors etc, If i were to change to a plazmaman or hypertune i would still need new cooler pipe, bov. The VCT solenoid will not foul because im cutting the runners of an RB25. Welding them to plates that will be used to bolt on the RB26 plenum. I can fabricate that myself and port match the inside for a smooth blend. I have seen a few plenum going for around the $200-$600 mark. The only thing that would stop me from doing this is the hose work and IAC as you mentioned. Ive heard some do without IAC if they have a standalone ECU but i havent gathered enough information for it. Throttle cable can be cut to length and crimped with a steel wire crimp. All this can easily be done under $800. But I guess it comes down to doing it if i could get a mock up plenum (which is impossible) would be definetely keen on trying this. -
yahoo auctions or Ebay. I got my nismos for $2200 with RSR semi slicks on them. Being ready is the thing, coz you'll run into a steal price whilst your broke as f*ck

you mean this, if your using braided lines

its Canberra nowhere is too far for a good job -
if you save up just a little more you can get a 34GTR Ive seen a few oing around 28000 from Japland. I imported mine and honestly the condition was better than all the one i had looked at. Things may have changed now with the market

those fuel lids are a b*tch to work on when i was rechecking my pump found that the seal had come off and dropped inside the tank. If you did manage to get the fuel temperature running what would the ECU do. Route the fuel to a cooler? -
Rb26 Inlet Manifold And Adaptation To Rb25 Heads .
B-rice replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had a look at Nokumens results when he did it using the adapter plates. The runners not lining up is because theyre not ported properly. Ive seen a smooth finish however i have not done it am willing to do it. If i do it like the picture above ive already eliminated the fitting part of the plenum to the head.An adapter plate can be made to fit the TPS sensor. The only thing that i could think of being hard (time consuming) would be probably linking up all the water lines properly. I have an oil cooler and relocation kit so there should be clearance on that side. Im after throttle response, plus its a cheap OEM method for having a front facing plenum. Then again im not being strong headed and saying its do-able im just trying to gather as much information as i can before I give up.Modifying cars is not always easy. -

Lol its doesnt seem too hard with the cut and weld method. I keep the same injectors and water hose. Just have to work out how to get the Idle control valve. And from what ive worked out its cheaper than a plazmaman. -

depends with how thick your flange is. If the stud just sticks out from the flange you may need atleast some extra thread to be left over after tightening the nut. Donno if i make sense -

depending on when your getting your car tuned you could rush to your local specialty fasteners and get some studs that youll change after the tune. -
Do the 33 injectors sit the same way as 34 (o -rings and sitting angle) but atleast i know i can top put on top feed injectors on the 33 intake manifold given that i change the rail aswell. I just dont want to downgrade from an intake plenum which was better.
-
Just been thinking of using multiple throttle GTR plenum. However Im not sure if the runners for a R34 and 33 are the same. I could do away with cutting the runners by machining a adapter plate using RB26 N 25 gaskets as templates. However using an adapter would mean that i have to cut and re weld the water outleet so it doesnt crush the VCT solenoid. Using 34 runners would be good because i still have the same injector sitting angle. The downside is that i cant find any 34 lower runners. So it brings the question, are the 33 and 34 runners the same especially on the way injectors sit and fuel rail mounts. From looking at a few pics they dont look the same but when you look at the gaskets, they have the same part number. Are the manifold o rings also 14mm

Thread revival anyone know where the injectors will spray with the adapter plates also without them using the cut and weld method. Im trying to think of what would be the best method to do this conversion -
Just a question is there a restriction on the length of injector you can use. I have 43mm oring to oring injectors.

I pulled out my vernier because it didnt make much sense to me. But then again ill be losing the hardlines when I change the rail to the plazmaman.

All up to you man. I havent heard of them breaking because of E85. Otherwise you can go for the walbros -

are seats defectable as well? Meaning they also need an engineers certificate if I was to go through inspection? -
going to give it a shot when im free. My tuner was offering to do it for a price. And i thought to myself that if you pay someone else to do it for you its pretty much their car they know it and you dont. Need to get a few speedflow fittings and spacers then I should do the tapping and fitting new injectors.
-
Thought it would be better tapping it. Its just a pain to remove the plenum, but I guess it will be also a good chance for me to fit the new injectors aswell.
-
Ive been trying to find out if anyone has tapped an external MAP sensor on the intake manifold for RB25. Where would be the perfect spot for this,(preferably the part of the manifold where it has less material to drill through for tapping.)? So far im inclined towards this type where i have to take off the intake manifold and tap it. Not use if i could tap it whilst its still on with all the metal shavings falling inside. Another is to tee off another line easier method. Im thinking this method would have a less accurate reading.

What Intank Pump Will Deliver The Most Flow? Nismo?

im pretty sure Nismo also considered race gas in their RnD. Besides Nismo over engineer everything they make i doubt E85 would cause you any problems.
