  1. Yep Step 1 I probably should of added more context. I'm not a fan of EBCs, as per my tuners recommendations, these arent the best in terms of reliability, better off getting a haltech/motec and control boost using the ECU. We do control the boost using a static bleed valve set to the desired boost pressure. We didnt really want the gate to be forced shut for longer just to make a few extra kw up top as this increased cylinder pressure which as a result puts the car in a medium risk category. Was your car tuned on 5th gear or 4th? I have driven multiple cars with similar setups (differences being -5s, GTX -5s and my -9s), all VCam, 98 and e85 builds. I can tell you now that this car was the most responsive out of the lot, though tapered off on the top end. I should also add, after going with a free flowing exhaust, the car held boost for longer with no change in boost controller or boost. Edit: Just did a quick calculation: Yours would have been run in 4th 4th Gear @100kph is around 3790rpm on an 18inch wheel 275/35/18 5th Gear @100 kph is around 2900 rpm Seeing as it hit 20psi around 117kph 5th gear, its coming on full at 3380rpm.
  2. Thought I'd make a post for reference for people planning their next build who are going for a stroker or vcam. Theres not enough tangible info on the net when it comes to comparing a stock 26 to a 2.8 vcam with NOTHING else being modified in the process. Its the most apples to apples comparison you will be able to get Mods before 2.8 vcam: - 2859r-9s - Fujitsubo Turbo back exhaust - Stock Dumps - Static Bleed valve (non adjustable) - Fuel stuff - Injectors, pump etc... - The rest is factory - i.e. intercooler, intake, head, cams, manifolds etc.. - E85 tune on a power fc (yesss i still use fc ? ) Mods After 2.8 Vcam: Just the Billet 2.8 stroker and Vcam - No porting the heads, no mods to exhaust/intake, just the stroker and vcam with the same bleed valve (unchanged in this dyno run)
  3. My rarest part is this ARC diffuser, took me ages to find, a friend of mine found one for me! Coming in 2nd is HKS VCAM (i dont have any pics of my engine) Most favourite mod driving experience wise is the Mines steering wheel! Its the part of the car i use 80% of the time (20% being the gear stick), and i can feel and enjoy the full benefit ?
  4. Its all about the market my friend! A normal daily commuter car (95% of cars that have ever existed) - Yes Autos are more expensive, cause its in demand and theres a broad market. 90s Jap car - Manual will always be more expensive - its an enthusiast market, its our toy, not an A - B essential. Also a 90s manual is faster than a 90s/00s auto.
  5. Should be okay on a high revving 2.6, even still -5s on e85 would be better To the OP: Better off getting HKS 2530 or -5s if he is staying on twins.
  6. It'll be crap to drive but make lots of power on a 2.6, those turbos are more suited to 2.8-3.0l https://gcg.com.au/petrol-performance/performance-4/turbochargers-kits/nissan-rb26dett-bolt-on-turbo-set-gtx28r-series-detail Whats his power goal? Drag spec or street? Garret themselves state the turbos are no good on a mild 2.6
  7. Ill have a look into it. It seems custom is the way to go. Will speak to an exhaust shop, i wouldnt mind modifying the HKS exhaust, however if i can get the same quality if not better for cheaper then will take a different route.
  8. Will suss them out too! Another titanium would be nice
  9. Sounds perfect. Just saw some reviews on youtube. WIll have a look online and buy one Thanks for the help!
  10. Hi All, Yes.. I know this topic has been beaten to death, however im in a bit of a predicament (1st world problems) and would like your assistance I just got my car tuned on e85 running 2859-9 turbos, the car made 355rwkw on 20psi however i was informed that my current exhaust was holding back the turbo (and response). I am currently running a turbo back (3inch?) titanium fujitsubo exhaust which is a twin pipe design and flows out into one larger muffler with an Apexi Cat, it is super quiet which i love, unfortunately max output is 350kw.. I was advised to go for a 3.5 - 4inch exhaust but the problem is i cant find any for a R34 GTR! I can only find ones that fit R33 (i.e. HKS hiper) that are reasonably high flowing. Does anyone know any other exhaust manufacturers that will help solve my issue? I cant seem to find resellers either Or if anyone wants my quiet titanium exhaust for their louder free flowing exhaust, happy to trade with cash adjustments!
  11. Hey UCCY, was after anything wider. Ended up with some TE37s 18x11. Wheels have been sold, feel free to close. Thanks!
  12. Hey Mate, the wheels are currently pending for Tabz, will let you know if the sale doesnt go through. Thanks, Derrick
  13. R34 GTR airbox bracket Hi Guys, Silly questions. I am trying to fit my factory airbox (as my car originally didnt have one). I think i have all the brackets however I cant seem to fit the bracket behind the headlight right. Im just wondering if someone can send me a picture of their bracket? It the piece that sits directly behing the headlight which the airbox bolts into. I cant seem to find it on google images either... I have a feeling the bracket i have is wrong, but have no reference Thanks, Derrick
  14. oooo Thanks Terry, Will give these a try
  15. 1000 dollars for a new one, i saw someone sell it on here for 50 bucks one time haha
  16. R34 GTR engine under tray/stone guard Hi Guys, Ive been trying to look for a r34 GTR under tray, the piece that sits behind the front diffuser, however i cant seem to find any and dont know of any wreckers that sell 34r parts. I found Kudos selling one brand new, but its wayyy out of my price range, cant justify spending that much on a piece of plastic. Does anyone know a place/workshop in Melbourne that might have one? Or even better, if anyone has one laying around? Cheers!
  17. Near new ARC intake for R34 GTR **SWAPS** Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone is interested in swapping their OEM stock R34 GTR air intake box for my ARC intake. Preferably within VIC only, trading interstate is a burden if money isnt involved. I originally purchased the ARC box as my car didnt have a proper intake when i purchased the car, i cant seem to find the stock airbox for sale so bought the ARC instead, however i really like the stock look and it draws less attention from the popo. If anyone is interested let me know. Everything is pretty much brand new, only 2000ks old. It fits very well and snug, took 1 hour to install it. The stock box needs to be in 100% condition, no cracks! - i dont mind scratches and general wear Thanks
  18. Ahh damn, if you were in Vic i would of considered! Its too much effort to do a trade, i would of swapped with Damien few months back otherwise. Id also rather we both see each others wheels in person too as the paint on mine is a little "tired" from track days.
  19. Perfect! Will buy these tomorrow and whack them in! Thanks for the help, much appreciated
  20. Got the car back today, now its running super rich meaning its ready for a re-tune. A few things were changed: - fuel hoses - fuel pressure regulator - injectors flow tested - all 100% - fuel filter (absolute filth apparently) - Fuel tank cleaned, very dirty from suspected fuel staying in the tank for long period, the e85 probably diluted it (id imagine it was sitting at the auctions for more than a year) Things to change: Spark plugs - they still had the denso plugs in there, had white corrosion all over, looked crusty, either it was swapped using the oem parts or it was never changed in its life. Which leads me to my next question, what plugs and what gap do you recommend? I was thinking of getting BCPR6ES gapped to 1.1 ? It will be tuned to ~24psi on e85 hopefully...whatever the tuner thinks is safe
  21. Update: So it turns out it was the fuel filter, it was old and clogged. The workshop also found that one of the airflow meters are reading a little funny, so they swapped that out. They said the car is still running a bit iffy (dont know what they meant by that), so they are swapping out the power fc with another one to see if it fixes the issue. The good news is they also did a compression test which was 175 across all 6 cylinders, pretty happy with that
  22. Perfect, ill get the fuel filter changed asap and will check for kinked lines! Will report back with results.
  23. Will give this a try. Im pretty sure he said it was leaning out as soon as it came on boost when it was set to 1000cc, maybe the FPR is shagged. Yea the tuner is well known, he's done quite a few GTRs on flex tune and straight e85. 1 day... all the mods listed in the op were also installed at once during the week, before that the whole car was stock apart from a mbc. This was my first official tune for my GTR, for all i know it might be an underlying problem.
