  1. What sort of boost were you running?
  2. You could try TSR (The Shock Absorber Reconditioners) @ Slacks Creek. Havn't heard anything bad about them. :sorcerer:
  3. Have a look through this topic: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=73375 Although it is a different boost controller, it is installed in the same way.
  4. I think this is the correct link, but I havn't seen it yet. Click Here
  5. So no Trust / Greddy turbo for you then.
  6. May be true in some instances, but it is hard to get a clear focused shot without looking through the viewfinder. You can usually tell from a photo whether a camera is mounted to the car or whether the camera person has actually decided to put some effort into the shot. Some photographers won't hang out of the car, but a few will. Sitting in a boot / hatch area is also used by some.
  7. I can guarantee you that plenty of Magazine photographers hang out of cars like that or worse. How else do you think they get some of the crazy angled moving shots otherwise. I am not condoning the activity of course, just saying that it isn't just "hoons" that are doing that sort of thing.
  8. Probably a good idea. Solenoids are put there by the manufacturers to act as a boost controller (but one that can't easily be played with). So if you don't bypass it, then in effect you are running two boost controllers and that may be causing the problems you are experiencing. Just disconnect and block off any lines from the stock solenoid, leaving a line from the boost source to the turbo/wastegate actuator with the boost controller in the middle.
  9. Might be this fellow, if so then he was online today: http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showuser=22378
  10. Not that keen on the purple snout on turbo, but everything else just looks bliss.
  11. They are KYB. Not sure whether you can adjust those (certainly not up and down anyway). They are basically the equivelant of Koni Adjustables.
  12. Wasp Performance: http://www.waspperformance.com
  13. Yes, and that was with dodgy operators puting more than 10% ethanol in the fuels. See ethanol is/was cheaper than petrol, therefore some operators would put up to 20% in fuel. Now when you are talking those levels of ethanol it certainly isn't good for the cars. This is the situation which cofused people into thinking that any percentage of ethonal being bad. Back then, noone said that 10% ethonal was bad, they did however say that 10% was the acceptable limit.
  14. I always thought that you weren't allowed to run orange lights, unless it was dangerous or impossible for you to stop in time. Most people tend to ignore this rule though.
  15. Awesome video. I can't wait to get out there and have a go myself.
  16. Did he let you drive away? Did you actually get the fine? How long ago were you done? If your answer is yes, no, long time - then chances are he was just trying to scare you without actually penalising you. If you have received a fine though, I would suspect the suspension would already be underway.
  17. Mine was tuned, but was still maxxing out (may have been the AFM reading well over 5000mv but yeah). Drivability is very nearly as good with my 740cc injectors and z32 afm, so I wouldn't worry too much if you decide to go bigger injectors. Can't see how bigger injectors is a band-aid solution (considering you would get it tuned anyway). Band-aid solutions come when you adjust the fuel pressure to get more out the injectors.
  18. Just last week there was a similar story of bad luck. Fortunately this did not involve me. Picture this, peak hour traffic on the M1. Traffic moving very slowly at about 60-70 in a 100 zone. Motorbike weaves in and out of traffic, missing cars by inches. Another bike sits patiently behind the cars. Get to where the transit lane is (entries and exits from lane limited), and the motorbike that was sitting patiently immediately goes for the lane. A few minutes later I come across the cops, they had pulled this second biker over - no doubt for speeding. Just goes to show, that you can drive like a complete fool on the road and often you will get away with it - but drive over the speed limit even by a litlte bit and it is a huge offense.
  19. I had the exact same problem with my redtop. Was maxxing out not only the injectors, but also the AFM at around 150rwkw. This wasn't so noticable in day-to-day driving, but at the strip it was causing me to back the boost right off. Have since changed to Z32 afm and 740cc injectors and have not looked back since.
  20. Thanks for that. Top video.
  21. While in light cruising conditions, mine cycles from around 0v to just over 1v. When at idle it reads an almost constant 1.2v.
  22. It may be a stupid question, but are you sure that it hasn't just developed a misfire? The first time I heard a car missing, I didn't know what to think. The oil loss may be a different issue altogether.
  23. If you want Kaaz (they sell a 1.5way) - then go here http://www.kaaz-sports.com/lsd_tekigou_eng...et_english.html. It appears like the part number for the rear of evo 1 is SBM2031. http://www.rmsmotorparts.com.au may be able to source this for you.
  24. Easy test - What does it read at idle when warm and without the a/c on? If it is around 20in/hg then it should be correct.
