Found a nifty sight for tracking the transport ship, once I was advised of the details. Turns out I knew when the boat was leaving and due to arrive this side of the pond before the Agent/brokers... www.shipspotting.com 10days and it hits Brisbane. Edit: The link doesnt seem to wanna stick... Try this one, if you're interested - www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1268559

I've always preferred the Pm35 headlights over the M35 ones due to the projector and split setup but certainly couldnt afford doing the front end conversion. I'd certainly be interested in seeing how you'd get on if you went ahead with your plans. So, at this stage, I'd reckon a set of 5000-6000k halogen globes will have to do in the stock housings.
-
Just out of curiosity, guys; what would be the difference between the stock Xenon D2R setup VS an HID H4 setup in the stock halogen housing as far as "performance" goes? I'd imagine that the Xenon setup has the same housing as the non Xenon but do the D2R have a different output to HIDs? I've only had HID's in a projector housing previously and know that if one were to use HID in halogen housing its, A: illegal and B: dazzles on-coming traffic. Would the same be said of HID in our stock housing?

Hmm.. if thats the case then perhaps I will need to take Ryan up on his offer. We'll see what happens, though, as I've been advised that some Reno's could be taking place around that time.
-
Thanks for the offer Ryan, hopefully I wont have to take you up on that Any ideas how long it takes the boat to get from Japan to here? I've tried to find some estimates online but was unsuccessful
-
Just got word that mine will be on its way to Australia this weekend, not sure yet of the exact details. Hopefully Customs and Compliance dont take too long and I should have something to bring along
-
Frickin' brilliant!

Cool, i'll be ringing around to get some prices then =)

Sorry Alex, I did read your post but thought you were referring to the offset only and not the rim as well. I'll send you a PM after work to confirm what I'm looking at as my work internets blocks pretty things (unless i can find a back door or something). The 225 vs 235 is the width of the tyre, right? With a small width is the tyre stretched over the rim or does it appear square? This will be the first occasion where we're going after market so it's all pretty new to me =) Thanks again!
-
Good one Ryan, thanks. If your stock figures are on the money then the rims would be good and tyres would be around 235/40/19 would be as close as you could get to the stock rolling diameter. Is anyone else running 19x8.5? i'd be interested to hear what tyres (size/spec wise) you're running.
-
At this stage I'm thinking of leaving the height as is and stock camber too; not looking for stance or to chew through the tyres too rapidly. Might have to see if there's a/market shocks in there with the springs...
-
As the topic is already here; I'm looking at a set of 19x8.5 rims and wanted to confirm if an offset of +20 would be suitable or would it be better/safer to go +25? Also, would 235/35/19 tyres suit or will it throw the speedo out or something?
-
A fair point. I suppose I'm looking at it from a cost/budget perspective though not looking far enough to see that if it gets defected I'll be paying more anyway.
-
Thanks Ryan, I'll try to find a moment to contact him when i get a moment at work. =)

That was going to be my next question, actually; Does the compliance workshop supply and fit an immobiliser/alarm? I imagine, if I wanted something different, I could supply one at my own cost once the car's in the workshop. Has anyone had any experience with Remote Starts on these cars? I've seen that some of the Euro cars cant be done due to the security system in place with their keys and whatnot, but I'd imagine it'd be a handy thing to have in a turbo car, so as to warm it up before setting off on whatever journey is planned. Another question, going back the exhausts, is if there's a difference in volume if the front pipe doesnt have a cat. AM Performance have an option for a Cat-less front pipe which would hit the mark, budget wise, but I dont know what effect, if any, this will have to the volume or performance. Thanks again for the help so far, guys. Truly a brilliant community to be a part of.

Brilliant responses from all and certainly a good idea to buy dump and mid locally and save for the Legalis. Suppose there's no harm in getting the pieces before the car's set sail, do you reckon that the Compliance shop will assist in fitting the pieces after compliance has been done or would it be likely that they'd prefer to see the car gone so the next one can be done? I'm starting to feel a little impatient at the lack, of what seems to be, progress in getting the Stag on this side of the ditch. For those that imported their own, what was the wait time before you saw your pride and joys in the driveway?

Thanks for your help and opinions guys. I've done a bit of reading and would be happy to invest a little more in the Jap system the only problem or hurdle that remains would be to convince the better half of the investment value. We're still yet to receive word on when the car will be shipped over so I'm deliberating as to when to put forward any orders, ie whether to wait till its landed or have everything ready to go once it arrives. It seems, though, that we'll have ample time to ponder the pros and cons of each. =)

Alrighty then, we've got some quotes back: Mr Streeter - $1,142 delivered (depending on Exchange rate) Imp Mnstr - $1,300 delivered (8 weeks) TurboAlfa - $1,499 delivered (worst case scenario) + Dump & Mid - $700 Totalling $1,842 at its cheapest The alternative would be local options: Dump pipe - $470 Mid w/out cat - $230 2muffler cat back - $870 Totalling $1,570. My next and only question is whether the Legalis is worth the extra $272? ...I'm not so sure but then I've never had any experience with aftermarket exhaust systems
-
Another good idea, thanks! I'll get right on getting some emails out
-
Auditioning may not be a bad idea, thanks Dale. Curious, was $950 landed or just the purchase price? If its landed and I can get a similar deal then the decision would be an easy one to make =)
-
Yeah, i agree that it seems a little high... The quote was through TurboAlpha imports and was a worst case, landed scenario. I might contact Jesse Streeter and see whether he can provide a landed quote.
-
Just got confirmation that to get the Fujitsubo Legalis landed will be around $1,499 (but no more). That's a bit for a cat-back system where there is turbo-back options available for $1,570 locally. Almost seems like a no-brainer to go with the local options... Opinions?

Hahaha, nah havent ruined anything, though I argue the point as they only develop their hearing when they are around 20weeks. We found out about the car when bubs was around the 10-12wk mark so very unlikely that they heard anything. =) It's certainly reacting to voices and sounds now as it dances around when the Mrs plays certain bands/groups. Whether its dancing in distaste or enjoyment is often argued, haha

Pm Sent, thanks Scott! =)

Umm... can someone advise what the difference is between these two and why one would be more expensive over the other? is it just a matter of different vendors with different prices or is there an actual difference in the product they offer? Exhaust 1 Exhaust 2 Cheers fellas
