  1. cool, thanks for the opinions guys but it certainly doesn't make the decision any easier lol. Does Scott have F/S page with his Dump pipe or is it a matter of PM-ing him and getting the details? I know that he threw up some pics of his design a while back but I'm having some trouble finding it. I'll keep searching though, that way I might be able to compare the AMPerformance one with his. Regarding the colour matching, I'd be exactly the same as I've refused to take a car as the repairer firstly didnt get the colour right, then didnt blend the repair in properly and on the third time around didnt buff the orange peel out of the clear coat. Needless to say they were rather happy to see the back of me, lol.
  2. I have an unrelated question; How many are running a custom exhaust on their M35? I'm wondering whether to go a full turbo back kit from AM Performance or whether to get a Dump+Cat and get a cat-back exhaust from Japan. Any ideas? The cost of each would be in the same ball park but I'm thinking that the cost of postage from Japan will make it the more expensive option...
  3. I'm pretty keen to come on the cruise, I just hope the car has arrived and is road going by then =D
  4. Reply email from last night: "...I just got off the phone to the agent. He checked the car out today when I first emailed him and couldn't tell at all, but as it became a little overcast he could see a slight difference in colour. He says it it quite common for strong pearled paint to appear different from various angles. The change in lines of the car between the rear panel and rear bumper can exaggerate this. Furthermore, it is not uncommon for the paint to age slightly different on the plastic as opposed to the metal surfaces. The agent has reconfirmed no accident damage saying the bolts holding the rear bumper on have not been tampered with. This confirms what I had thought and hoped. We may even be able to improve upon the finish with a polish once the car arrives. Once you have had a look at the car in the flesh yourself, let me know what you think." All good, then. I wasn't panicking but certainly curious as to the difference in colour. Like Troy said, though, once I see car in the "flesh" I'll be able to judge it all for myself.
  5. Just got a reply from Troy at Iron Chef: "...The car will be getting complied at a place in South Australia called "Import Compliance". Kristian does a lot with these guys and they also deal with a lot of Stageas which always helps I just had a closer look at some of those pics and noted what you have mentioned. It could be a couple of things, but I will ask my agent to check it out in the flesh before I speculate. Definitely no accident or repair damage noted on auction sheet or inspection. Will let you know as soon as I know." So... I'll wait and see what the agent says and hopefully there's nothing sinister going on.
  6. ooh, just found the listing on FC Autosource, so if you want to see all 52 pics feel free to have a gander http://fcautosource.com/ListingDetail.aspx?fcauto_id=226
  7. well, it just so happens that i do have a couple extra pics... =) I saw the same thing and am just wondering whether its had a respray or if they didnt wash it properly or something. Probably a respray though. I'll certainly be having a look to see if there's any accident damage or if the bar was simply replaced. Tailgate seems to be a lighter colour to the bar so it may have just been resprayed or something... hmm....
  8. No idea, actually. Troy from Iron Chef has advised that import approval and compliance have been organised but I neglected to ask where it was getting done. I'll find out and throw up an update tomorrow. It's gonna be a long wait, I reckon. Transit time is around 2-3wks, right?
  9. Thanks Ryan. We're somewhat down south; around the Marion area and totally keen to join the next cruise when we have the White Stag in the driveway. =)
  10. Had another look at the pics that the agent sent us on Auction day, and you're right about the suspension. Any guesses to what make/brand the springs are? Dont think that it'd be easy to tell, though. As for the rims, the Mrs isnt too keen on how they look at the moment as they're only 17s and dont fill the guards enough. She's seen too many other examples on here with decent shoes, haha
  11. Thanks for the welcome, guys; appreciate it. =) I've been perusing the forums for nearly 3yrs and know that there is an absolute wealth of information and experience here. Ian - I knew previously about REVS checks but didnt have the idea to do a check until after I gained easy access via work. An expensive lesson surely, but certainly a lesson. I'll be certain to make sure that none of my friends or family have to learn the same lesson
  12. Greetings all, Its official, my wife and I have just paid for our very own NM35 Stag which is over in Japan at present and will be shortly making its way over to become the daily run-about for the Mrs and make family life a little easier when bubs comes along. We've always loved the m35 Stagea but for one reason or another they have always been out of reach. Recently our circumstances took a change for the worse when we found out that the car we've called our own for the last 3yrs actually has finance still owing on it and the douche who took out the loan had absconded and stopped making repayments. It certainly was a bit of a kick in the guts after I spoke to the finance company and confirmed some details but the only relief was that they hadn't actually decided to pursue their security and were happy to take the last registered owner's details from us to see if it might dhelp them pursue their man. To cut the story slightly shorter, they've since found the guy on the loan (turns out to be 2 owners before us) and are in negotiations with him at present but we've been told it isnt looking very promising due to a lack of income. My wife and I decided, after some words were thrown about that thankfully bubs couldn't hear whist "baking" away, that regardless of whether they take the car or not we would begin the sensible shift to a wagon to fit bubs and the two dogs. So, after seeking the assistance of Iron Chef and an aution last week, we snagged ourselves a brilliant example of an NM35. Only 72,000 on the clock, 12/2001 build and in pearl white. We got nearly everything we wanted in our new car; Pearl White duco,, Full aero kit, Black on Black interior with electric leather seats with the TV/Navi combo. The only things missing are the twin sunroofs and a reversing camera. The latter can be added easily after its landed and sitting in the driveway. So, have a look and do feel free to let me know what you reckon. Couple of mods on the list already, set of rims and full, turbo back, exhaust with possibly more to come. But all in time and first things first, we need to get this thing on this side of the gap =)
  13. Found it! > http://nissan.epc-data.com/ like i mentioned; pretty basic but it links to vailable parts catalogue and diagrams etc
  14. A bit of an update/addition; Turns out that "G" colour code for the interior is Black/ Charcoal with grey being identified with a "k" code. I found a online version of the system which gives a basic search using the VIN number and all in english. I'll have a hunt around for it and upload a link when I find it.
  15. Good man, thanks Duncan. Appreciate the help. I'll certainly try to get some more info from the brokers and see how we go with the auction on Thursday. Thanks again
  16. Thanks for the quick response guys, appreciated. I'm having trouble reading the results; im seeing IRS on the left hand side. Does that mean that the car doesnt have HICAS? Does it list the style of the enterior; ie Grey or Black trim, cloth or leather? Sorry to be a pain
  17. hi all, Just curious whether someone would be able to help me out and do a FAST search on an up-coming auction to see features/options of the car? I've put a request in one of the main threads but couldnt be done due to program restrictions on age of vehicles. the details are - VIN: NM35-306241 Model: GH-NM35 Im thinking that this could very well be the car i've been waiting for but wouldnt mind knowing a little more about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and many thanks in advance ~Dom

  19. Hi, could someone do a FAST search on the below when they get a chance? I'm wondering what options it has, etc. VIN: NM35-306241 Model: GH-NM35 Thanks in advance!
  20. I'm certainly interested also if its around the $17k mark and will have finance in place in a couple of weeks, or worst case end of month. Have you done any maintenance on the turbo or dump pipe as I’ve read that these are susceptible to failure around the 100k km mark? But again, certainly keen and will be in contact in a couple of weeks if you decide to go ahead with the sale.
  21. I've seen the arse of one in one of the Evangelion Remake movies... was a good spot by the wife!
  22. haha, yeah i know. There's just a slight difference in price at the moment so i dont think that the purchase is going to happen too soon... =)
  23. Ah... well, thats a pity. The Mrs and I were looking at it too and just waiting to get our finances in order before getting too excited about buying it. I'll have to break the news, lol. =) Might have to get a 3.5L after all!
  24. Just out of curiousity; I've been looking at M35's also and am also located in SA. Have you had a look at this one? M35 Stagea Adelaide It has around the same Kms, Sunroof and Aero... but cheaper.
  25. A quick search online has produced a code for an S15 Silvia, which may be the same... W-K-0 (ZERO NOT LETTER O) Alternatively, there's also another one for a 2004 Pulsar (Altima) - "Satin White Pearl Tri-coat: QX3" Hope that helps.
