  1. There have been a few minor updates and some more pictures in my build thread. Link is in sig. Cheers.
  2. All i can say to add to everyone else's input is that i went is that with my experience i went from Stiffer shocks and lowered springs to coilovers and was amazed by the difference. They feel alot stiffer then what i had but aren't as harsh and seem to absord the road better. If that makes any sence. Also if you have coilovers you can set them at a hight which suits where you drive ie; your driveway. Should you move house and it turns out you have clearance issues, it's easily solved with some minor adjustments. If you have lowered springs, you don't have this freedom. Just another thing to make you decision that little bit harder. haha. Looking forward to see which way you go. Cheers
  3. haha. seen a few skylines about lately. A R33 from memory, cant remember, but it was black with a front lip that used to be blue and is now black. If that makes sense. It also had dark tint. Looked pretty good none the less. It was in a carpark, i won't say where though.
  4. Nothing wrong with BC coilovers. I had lowered springs and GT Gas Monroe shocks in my car before i put the coilovers in and IMO the coilovers are 50 thousand times better. My brother in law is about to go from kings springs and pedders shocks in his S13 (previous owner) and put BC coilovers in for several reasons. One thing that i find more appealing about coilovers is the fact that you have complete control over ride height so if your not happy with where it sits or you have it to low for your driveway you can have it adjusted. With king springs you don't have a choice and like somebody previously mentioned its difficult to get your ride height even on both sides with the springs and shocks. You can also adjust the stiffness of your coilovers but i'm pretty sure you can do that with the shocks as well. I find coilovers are streetable and i have them in my daily. Soon going to larger sway bars to compliment my setup. If you ever plan to track the car for some fun then coilovers would be the better option in that senario aswell. Not trying to shoot you down Jonno34 just expressing my thoughs/opinions. Cheers, and let us know which way you go.
  5. Not sure on which you need. If you give the blokes a call at Just Jap they will let you know exactly what will suit your car. They're pretty good blokes in my experience with them. Also anything over about $300 is free delivery from memory.
  6. don't hit yourself too hard. your new to the scene and it takes a while to learn even the basics. i bought the bc coilovers. they have four types. the inverted and also the external resivoir ones would be over kill for a street car, which leaves you with the two cheapest options. the cheaper one is good enough but for an extra $100 you can get the next set up which is more robust and stronger. i'll try find a link for the ones i'm talking about. The BR type is what i recommend. cheers.
  7. You either go coilovers OR lowering springs. I would highly recommend getting coilovers, i have some in my r31 and they are an awesome improvement. The car handles alot better and you have control over ride hight and shock stiffness. Before coilovers i had cut springs which is pretty much the same as lowering springs but not as good. I bought my coilovers from this site: www.justjap.com and i'm pretty sure you get warrenty this way. Hope this Helps And welcome to the Skyline Scene. Kurt
  8. are you up north or down south?
  9. yeah probably. but i need to get it on a track so i can push it and see what i can do.
  10. sounds good to me. The car is well overdue for a good floggin. After all, it has been built to cop a beating.
  11. I'll be down if there is another track day. I only found out about this one the day before. Has it been decided when the next one will be?
  12. i'll do my best to be down by lunchtime. depends how i recover in the morning.
  13. I might pop down tomorro for a look. Won't be doing any laps as i'm broke. What time is every one getting there/hanging around to? Oh and i assume its at baskerville?
  14. Ah i see. I wouldn't have a clue what thar sensor is reading. I have nistune but don't have the software on my laptop hook it up.
  15. What car would you like these results from? I have a Race Tech Water Temp Gauge and sensor in my modified RB30 an cruising on a cool/cold tasi day i'll see temps between 60-70 degrees and on a hot day as high as 80 degrees whilst driving aloing. The highest it's ever been is about 85 in traffic on a hot day. The sensor is located in the standard position. Hope this helps. And how do you know there is a varience between the factory and aftermarket? As far as i know most factory gauges don't have exact points only a scale from cold to hot. Kurt.
  16. low ball. offer him $250 and say he can keep the stockies. he might turn it down but he might also go lower on price. if you like them then why not, unless you can get something else you like for around the same money of course. Whats the width of the rims and ofset? make sure you see them on the car first so you don't get home and decide you don't like them.
  17. haha yeah, two way.
  18. is the other one white? i think i've seen a white one somewhere too. could be wrong though.
  19. black laurel with a locked diff?
  20. If they don't end up getting made i'm just gonna write SAU TAS in window paint on my rear window. haha, not really. but still, it's a good idea to get them. Which skyline do you drive toffy? i try to remember most cars that come through,
  21. sounds like a good idea. pehaps make another thread in the Tasi section and label each different design with a number or letter to save confusion. wait, you could just make a poll instead. haha
  22. Oh and the missus likes the first one if that counts.
  23. I vote the one with the URL. I can get shirts made cheap if any one is interested. Also, is there someone on the forum that this has to be put past? And will we be only making them available to people when certain criteria is met?
