Hi all, just thought I would post some additional information from the RTA website on this issue which highlights some exemptions. This may help clarify some questions being asked in this post. Note how it states all "NEW" provisional drivers !!!!!! Does that mean that all current P platers with a car in the banned list are exempt ?????? I'll make some enquiries and post my findings later on. (Extracted from RTA.NSW.GAV.AU) On 11 July 2005 the NSW Government will introduce two changes to the provisional licence scheme. Both of these new initiatives aim to help reduce the young driver road toll. Prohibited vehicle condition The prohibited vehicle condition restricts all new provisional (P1 and P2) drivers from driving certain vehicles while on their provisional licence. Prohibited vehicles are those with: * Eight or more cylinders. * A turbocharged engine (diesel exempt). * A supercharged engine (diesel exempt). * Engine performance modifications. * High performance six cylinder engines. A list of prohibited vehicles is available to view and download from the box at the bottom of this page. Please note: the list will be updated as required. Guidelines for light vehicle modifications (Vehicle standards information sheet VSI 06) are also available to view and download from the box at the bottom of this page. This condition does not apply to: * Existing provisional (P1 and P2) licence holders, unless they are disqualified for a serious driving offence from 11 July 2005. * Learner licence holders. Passenger condition The passenger condition applies to provisional (P1 and P2) drivers disqualified for a serious driving offence. After the disqualification period the provisional (P1 and P2) licence holder will be restricted from carrying more than one passenger when driving. This condition will apply for 12 months. Exemptions from vehicle restrictions Exemptions may be granted if: * More powerful vehicles are required for genuine employment purposes (statutory declaration to be provided by an employer). * Eight cylinder 4WD vehicles are required by country drivers who have no practical alternative. * A low performance turbocharged engine vehicle is the principal family vehicle (ie registered to a parent). If exceptional circumstances can be demonstrated, application for an exemption can be made at any motor registry upon payment of a $23 fee. You cannot drive a prohibited vehicle unless you are exempted and owning a prohibited vehicle does not make you exempt.

Benl, this behaviour is normal for the standard computer. The standard computer knows that once 10 PSI is achieved to "cut" the ignition to save the turbo from failure. Because I now have a PFC, mt understanding is that you cut "override" this feature, I just don't know how. Otherwise you can buy what is know as a "fuel cut defender".,

Grigor, thanks for the PM. Sure the plugs are gapped, but I will go home and double check.

APEXi POWER FC +COMMANDER $980 Shipped
blukie replied to HASHIRIYA's topic in For Sale (Business Traders)
HASHIRIYA, I forgot to thank you. I received the PFC about 2 weeks ago. It's in the car and working perfectly. I got a PFC + hand controller delivered to my door for under $1000.00 !!!!!! Yipeeee Not sure whether any one out there has purchased anything from HASHIRIYA. I had absolutely no problems with his service. This is the 1st time that I've bought something over the net and NOT felt nervous at any stage. He kept me posted at every stage of the process which obviously kept me comfortable. I paid for the PFC on a Monday and it was delivered to the door the following Monday. Fasntastic. Many thanks once again. -
Hi, just got myself a PFC and my car seems to still cut out when boost exceeds 10 PSI. I thought this "Fuel cutout" was non existent with Power FC's. Is there a particular map I must go to and "correct" this ???????

PFC Software Datalogit Vs Apexi Power Excel
blukie replied to blukie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Paul, thanks a lot for the files and thankyou everyone else for the feedback. I wrote to Nengun over the weekend with regards to the Excel software. Nengun only has the japanese software. So the data logit stuff is it for me then. Have have a look now how much and where. -
I've been saving up to get the Datalogit software and noticed that the Apexi Power Excel software has become available for sale on the nengun website. I've heard that it's the software used by the Apexi Dealers to tune the PFC.Has anyone used both programs to be able to give a comparison of the two ??? I have not seen anything on the excel software. Can the excel software log data ???

Hi all, I'm drpopping a Series 2 engine into a series 1 R33 this weekend. I've been told that series 1 and series 2 use different ECU's. To overcome this I'm planning to use the Series 1 fuel rail, wiring loom, TPS, Coil Packs and ignitor so I can keep the series 1 ECU and drop in the Series 2 engine complete with all manifolds. Hopefully all the wiring harnesses on the series 2 engine will match the series 1 wiring loom. Will all the wiring harnesses on the Series II engine match the series 1 loom ????

Newcastle Auto Dismantler's. I have found a Series 2 Engine elsewhere for 2K. -
R33 Series 1 or Series 2 RB25DET ????
blukie replied to blukie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Predator thanks for that. I have found a series 2 engine (1997) complete for 2K. That's complete wiring loom all manifolds turbo etc. A couple of people told me that it should be Ok as long as I leave the fuel rail, injectors and series 1 wiring loom and the series 1 coil packs. Wonder if that that will work ????? -
R33 Series 1 or Series 2 RB25DET ????
blukie replied to blukie's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Meggala, thanks for that. That's what I need to know. I'll have to make sure that I get a series 1 motor. Is there an easy way to tell by looking at the engine ???? -
Hi all, I currently have a R33 GTS T series 1 and I want to buy another 2.5T engine to drop in temporarily while I rebuild the original engine. When I get the temporary engine I just want to drop it in with no hassles (no wiring hassles or hassles with power steer, a/c etc). Does it matter whether it's a series 1 or series 2 engine ???? Are there any major differences between series 1 and series 2 that could make things difficult ?????? I've found an engine locally at Newcastle (3 to choose) from which are complete with turbo, manifolds, throttle body, coil packs and crank angle sensor for $2600.00. Is that a good price ??? Your opinions are appreciated.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows how much a coil pack is worth new from Nissan. I intend on calling Nissan tomorrow to find out but if someone knows here, that might prepare me for the shock when I call in the morning. My car developed a problem over the weekend and it's running a bit rough so I decided to check the plugs this afternoon. Rather than take the 2 racks off that the coil packs sit on I just un-did the bolts that hold the coil packs onto that rack. I started the car with the loosened coil packs sitting on the plugs and pulled 1 coil pack off at time, 1 after the other. I always had 5 cylinders running at a time. As you pull the coil pack up it "arcs out" on the head. Each coil pack "arked out" with similar behavior except for 1 which did not "arc out" much at all. I then swapped the coil pack with another one just to make sure it was not the wiring loom. I figure cause it's behaving differently to the rest it may be the problem. Is this a fair assumption ???? I'll be checking prices with Nissan in the morning and I'll update this thread with the price. TRADE PRICE FROM HORNSBY NISSAN for COIL PACKS ARE $194.00 EACH

blukie replied to 31GUN's topic in Events Archive
31GUN, Goldzilla and Myself were in a grey 33 Sedan. It was parked around the back of the stand at one stage but not underneath the stand at the same time that the Blue 33 was parked underneath. We also saw the Blue 33 Coupe with the white wheels. Some old bloke was driving it. Did U go on Sunday ??? I was interested in what the race 2 and 3 results were. -
