i had the negative off the battery for about 30 mins and reconnevted and retried then still had the same problem. should i do it longer? also i decided to retrace my steps from yesterday when i installed some wires making sure nothing was cut or removed. i could not see anything odd but once i had put the car back together i turned her on and it just went away! but started driving and bang back on! i can easily get the car sideways and it appears that the active lsd is functioning, so maybe i have lost a negative wire somewhere?

Yes im thinking that this could be a computer malfunction and a reset could fix the problem. i will give that a go tomorrow and let you know how it goes! cheers

No did not lose power steering, to be honest the car feels fine when it drives.. but the hicas only came on when i started the car up traveling at 70 then went off when i did standstill start. so dont think its that. im thinking that i might have hit a wire.. but not sure where it would be.

also had car jacked up from the front on some ramps for some time, sort of thinking that it being unleveled for a while could cause something?

Ah yes active lsd my mistake. well today i took off my exhaust and knocked out my cat and stuck it back up. took it for a drive and ran all sweet! then had the centre console behind gear shift out to put a wire through for my phone. also fed some wires along the body under the carpet on the left and right of car. nothing serious, but where abouts does the wire for the active lsd lead? i did however notice that there was a small leak from in front of the back left hand tyre coming somewhere from the chassis. once i had seen the active lsd light on i turned the car off while driving thinking it would just reset and when i started the car up again while still moving the hicas light came on aswell as the active lsd. stopped turned car off n back on then back to the active lsd problem. so not sure whats happening. i have just installed my nismo shifter into my R33 Series 2 Skyline.. Im not exactly sure if all the original shifter parts are there. i have started by putting the wavy circular bit of metal in the shaft first, then applied the yellow plastic bit for the shifter to slot into. the shifter had come with a circular bit of plastic alread on the shifter that slotted into the yellow bit from before... i then put the two metal circular thingos into the shaft to hold the shifter down.. the end result is that the shifter can move upwards about 3mm or so and go back down.. is there supposed to be slight movement or is it supposed to be pretty tight????????? Well im hoping it is the problem because i just spend $600 buying some splitfire coil packs! may as well get the good shit haha cheers guys!

no valley cover and spark plugs are bolted down. how can i test if they are stuffed so i dont find myself spending unnecessary money

just took the car for a drive then and found that its more of a bang and backfire noise. and i opened up the hood and some coil packs are still sparking while engine is running!! thats not right!

So all i have to do to reset ecu is take negative from Battery?

Have done the check and all looks good.. I forgott to mention that i took the car to get looked at and they said i had water stains in the engine bay and that it needed to be dried out by running the car.. So i picked car up and thrashed it for hour n half and all problems were gone and it was running smoothe! Then next morn all the problems started again! Why?

Im not sure how to test if it is the coil packs. Is there a way i can test? What do you mean by searched? If u mean the forums i had a look around and had no luck.

Hey guys really getting frustrated by this engine! I have changed over spark plugs few weeks ago now and car has slowly decreased itself over couple of weeks by spitting on high revs like a rapid spitting! When listening near spark plugs there is a random spark of single or multiple sparks. The car does not idle very well and runs like a piece of shit! Running stock boost and have recently put a new exhaust on. Any ideas would be greaty appreciated!

Sorry for the late reply guys.. Been helped out with a few mates and after spending 120 for new spark plugs i found out that the old ones got screwed up by the guys at the crash repairer. to my knowledge i think the issue was that they tried to start the car without any BOV and the fuel to air ratio was not the same so there was way too much fuel being sucked in causing the engine to flood and kill the spark plugs.. all resolved now tho! Cheers

Hey guys, need some help! my car has been at the crash repair and had a mate go down to take my BOV off and yesterday i put the stock one back on and now my car wont start.. the car continuously turns over but does not start! it sounds really healthy which is making me think that maybe a fuse is gone.. but i am limited to my time there so need to look in a specific spot.. and suggestions?

have you still got the R33 hazard and dimister button? also the RH plastic that goes up the roof from the front window. and the centre unit that has the lift up compartment between the two seats? are all $5 if available?
