  1. Why every time i spot a nice skyline around, is the driver someone who totally ignores me. Never manage to spot any of you guys who wave and compliment one another's rides... Lame, Lame... *Edit* Grrr, wrong window, sorry, that was meant to go in the spotto thread!
  2. What did you do round the gauge arms light? Did you put white leds, leave the originals or still use the blue and all still glows red for them? TA!
  3. Sorry, if was tues wed or thurs next week I prob coulda helped. All the best. Happy to help any one else out on those other days.
  4. Any one with contacts for Tarmac? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/user/27414-tarmac/
  5. Done. Email Sent
  6. I need to stop missing the good group buys!! Well, eventually they are things i'll prob look in to doing. All in good time i guess.
  7. Hey guys, am looking to tidy up my Cab and want a boost gauge holder, either one to go on the pillar, or one that matches the shape and can sit on the dash.. I want one the makes all neater and more stock looking in the cab. Atm have a chrome one that is bolted on to the pillar, which means there is an unfortunate hole, but it doesnt join on perfectly and whilst shiny and pretty, it isnt ideal. Someone last time had a dash one was gonna get, but lost the msg and link in the site upgrade. Please get back to me.
  8. I still dont totally follow Z. I get that the turbo has a limit, and i'm only running 10/11 psi. But that is true, i believe i still have standard injectors, what are they to upgrade? And fuel pumps? They are the next 2 simple upgrades i would look at. How do people kill their engines with the ECUs? Not totally sure what you mean by that statement.
  9. I bought the car as is. 86,000kms with a major service just done that included a new radiator and all fluids. I had to replace the belts, fuel pump, boost gauge and a few small cosmetic things... I got a front sway bar, HID's, did the stereo, new tires, got the alarm system upgraded and to inc a boot release... and standard maintenance of oil and fluids at regular intervals... Always do the oil at 5000km. Spark plugs are also good high quality ones, compression was perfect 140psi at all cylinders (Pretty sure was 140, but they were all 100% the same, which is really good). Only issue the car really had was it leaked around the rear tail light, and i had to spend weeks on and off getting that exactly right so didnt leak any more.
  10. Beware the power FC computer things, afik are not rego legal ect.... You need to pay more to get the right tune and have it checked occasionally, the mines are plug and play from what i understand.. And they arent too badly priced. If i wanted more power, i could get a larger bolt on turbo, update the other half of my turbo pipes and get a better fuel pump, but I am happy with what I have and cant afford to do more mods. Any time I do work and need to replace stuff though, I always go for an upgrade though.
  11. I dont get 220 from the ECU alone. Spitfire coils, mines ecu, lightened flywheel, 11psi on stock turbo, FMIC, Apixi pod with heat sheild. Posted the Dyno sheet above.
  12. No one has said there is any issue with the Mines ECU. I get 220rwkw on the dino at 11psi. Well that is what the dyno sheet says from bout 2.5 years ago.
  13. I have a Mines ECU, it is a non programmable one, but is is reprogrammed really well. it is a plug and play replacement.
  14. Great info. Done pretty well all the Stage one, and a little stage 2. But the costs, time and not really needing the extra power, are why not really done more. Next for me would be a new bolt on turbo, and a better fuel pump. With the new turbo though, i'd need some new pipes as half my intercooler pipes are still the stock size ones. But the car is running well and getting 220rwkw at 11psi, so i am pretty happy.
  15. Wish I saw this earlier! Next time! So for 10 people it is bout $130 eh?
  16. Yeah i think i follow all that now, thanks.. Took a moment to get my head round it. But one of my main points: Is the reason they dont like and it is illegal to have a duel boost controllers, is cos it illegally vents to the atmosphere rather than sending it back into the exhaust (like the legal blow off valves/wastegates?). Also, what were you referring to as to what can damage the turbos? The multi stage blow offs?
  17. Ahh, i see. That is awesome. I don't totally follow how the boost controller bipasses the actuator and allows for higher boost etc, but it makes sense about the min boost i can run now too. It is also good to know they are easy to remove and that they are exactly as i thought, a device spliced in to the boost lines... but still not 100% clear on it all. TA! EDIT: After reading again it makes a bit more sense, even if it seems so primitive... When you say this (below), are you saying the needle valve actually does vent to atmosphere and this is the whole reason these things are not really legal? Or is it still plumbed in properly to the exhaust, cos i still have the stock plumb back waste gate running, and it still sounds awesome... A Manual boost controller or bleed valve simply reduces the amount of pressure the can receives by bleeding off though a needle valve (if you looks at the bleed valve there will be a little hole in it somewhere) and tricking the diaphragm into thinking there is less pressure there so the spring holds the flapper closed more than normal, allowing more exhaust gas to go through the turbine wheel and thus increasing boost.
  18. Currently mine has a manual one installed. It has the switch in the cab for high and low boost. Apparently the low boost cant go below 6psi, it is as low as it will go (on the unit i have)....and the high is set around 11psi.. However, it is easily bumped and changed... I bumped it the other day cleaning under the hood, so now need to see where it is sitting at and make sure it is not too high...... I definitely get boost spikes atm, and I am pretty sure that is not really a good thing... On low, it spikes near 10 then averages back to 6 or 7 psi... on high, it spike to 14/15 and then averages back to 11 or 12 psi normally. The prob is either of these things are not technically rego legal, at least not in the ACT.... I cant see why if they not legal if they are done properly and safely and dont ventilate to the atmosphere though.... An electronic would be even more awesome, but that would prob take a lot more setting up and costs to get.. Also, what is the deal if i ever need to take either out.. (the manual or an electronic) to pass rego? Wouldnt that mean i have no boost limiter at all?? And would it even be easy to remove... esp an electronic... the manual one seems to just splice in to one of the lines? I need to look at it better some time and learn more about how these work....
  19. Yeah mate, what a rought. Most people everywhere park on the nature strip. Sure it is usually out the front of their own home, and definately not in an area like civic or a town center area... For an offence like this with NO signage, you'd expect a warning... And the fact that there were many other cars doing the same thing, and do regularly, it is a bit unfair that you were stung.. I still say follow it through since it is local, and the costs are not too bad. They are not likely to increase your fine for something like this imho.... It is not like this is right in a town center and there was other parking offered. There are no signs and there were other cars parked there too.. It is fine and well to say that you find out now that what you did was wrong and would not do it again. And complain on the basis of the other cars (who were not fined), no signage and no other provided parking. you were also nowhere near an intersection ect.. That you ask for a warning in this instance. And see. Worst case the most likely outcome would be they tell you that you have to still pay the fine, you get a paid leave day off work and have made an effort. Maybe even feel free to take half a dozen more photos in like that one, and see if they book every last car in the photos too for the same thing if they wont let you off.
  20. Followed someone in a skyline along the Barton Hwy and in to Mitchell on my way to work yesterday, traffic prohibited me from catching up to wave.
  21. Also, what bout this? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/328801-r33-4dr-spoiler-duck-tail-wing-boot-lip-ect/
  22. I love that i scored a series 1.5 rather than a 1 or 2, hate the series 2 front bars, but like the front and rear looks from the series 1. This baby was a win, if only she was a GTR not just a gtst, but, i still am pleanty happy with my ride... BTW, i recommend you make the pics in you signature like half the size....
  23. Yeah i have fun with ramps too, the store bought ones are impossible, my dad has some good ones he and my grandfather made, but i still need extra wooden ramps infront to get my car on it, and my car isnt even super low...
  24. The metal flyscreening is best and as long as dont flog it then it will not be an issue, and it is easy to clean out and remove after. The other thing you can use is the big loop sturdy steel wool. We used that stuff in our motorbike at home for years so as not to piss off the neighbours when we road it around the yard as kids.
  25. I think the flush boot is the nicest, and the GTR wings belong on GTR's even though they look sick. Never been a fan of the drift wings, i think they look like a tacky attempt not to have the lip that is left when you remove the regular wing. I have the stock wing on mine, but i like it *shrugs*
